Went into this Safeway on a Wednesday morning between 9 and 9:30 to take care of something that required the customer service desk. There was a brunette gal standing behind the counter, but the closed sign was up. I asked her if she was closed because I thought maybe the sign had not been taken down as I assumed they would open at least at nine. She glanced up at me with a look on her face that spoke volumes about her degree of irritation at my question, and managed a one word answer of yeah. Didn't even volunteer to tell me what time they were going to be open. The tone of her voice though, coupled with her face was so utterly rude that I wasn't even sure I should ask when they did open. I went ahead though, and her equally rude "I should know this tone" answer was ten. not sure if she was just having a bad day or didn't have any coffee yet or got called to do a shift that she wasn't supposed to be working, but so unnecessary to treat me that way. I had definitely heard terrible things about this particular Safeway, but I wanted to go there anyway because it was on my way home. Definitely the last time I'll ever go there. There was absolutely no reason for her to have such an attitude towards me when asking a simple question because I had never been in that store before. read more

The staff all are very rude and always have a snobby attitude towards people for no reason! The deli food sucks its always cold or rock hard. The fruit and veggies either are soggy or they literally have spider webs in the grapes. The pharmacy staff have no idea what they are doing... Drugies always stealing and no one does anything. Just about the bakery, it's lack of care. The person that takes order doesn't speak English or purposefully makes ordering a crap shoot. Who orders a single layer 9" round birthday cake for $30.00. On Oct. 9, I went to the Safeway on 19th and 112th in Everett and (in person) stopped at the deli and filled out a deli tray form and ordered 2 trays for my wedding on Oct. 30th at 9am. I personally handed the order form to a Safeway deli employee and asked her if she needed anything else. She said no and I left the deli to the bakery and ordered my wedding cake. On Oct. 30th at 10:00am, I arrived at the deli and there were no trays waiting for me. I was devastated because what was I going to serve my guests and I had to be at the ceremony location at 10:30. They asked me if I could wait 30 minutes to an hour for them to make up the trays but I could not. In tears, I went to the bakery and those fine folks had my wedding cake, thank goodness! Now I realize that times are tough and maybe it's difficult to get good employees but this was unacceptable. I asked for the manager and the manager offered me Hormel packets! I had no more time to waste as I didn't want to be late for my own wedding. I'm putting this out there because I didn't want this to happen to anyone else for their special event. Oh, how I've missed you, Safeway! Ever since I moved to Canada, I've missed you so! (You are not the same up in Vancouver, that's for sure). People of Everett, perhaps you complain about the prices here, or the long lines, but all I can say is, that's all so relative. Prices here are a fraction of what they are at m most grocery stores in Vancouver, and the selection is way better. (I visited this store at 8:30pm so I can't comment about long lines at the cash, as the store was fairly empty when I was there). I like how this store was clean, well-marked, and well-stocked. There's a Starbucks here (although it was closed when I visited). Even though I wasn't in the market to purchase alcohol, I liked seeing all the wines and liquors available (we don't have alcohol available to us in the grocery stores in Vancouver). The deli department had a lot of ready-made meals available (this, at 8:30pm, which is great, as I came here specifically to pick up a salad for a late dinner, to eat in my hotel room). The bakery and produce departments looked great, too, with lots of fresh offerings. LOVE the floral department. (When I lived I Redmond, WA for 25 years, the floral department at my Safeway store was always terrific, too). The lady who checked me out at the cash was friendly but a bit distracted, as she noticed on the mirrored panel on the wall that a guy in the store was in the process of shoplifting some Red Bull cans, and she was busy alerting store security about the issue. She still was able to simultaneously check me out and even chat a bit (great multitasking, wow!). Coming from Vancouver, I found the prices here to be crazy low. And when I got to my hotel and had my on-the-fly dinner, I was happy with how fresh my salad was. read more

If I could give it a zero I would. The behavior of a young deli man seemed as if it were everyday behavior that all of the clan puts up with. Where as the old man just walked off and clocked off. Neither knew how to control a situation of the matter of one customer cutting in front of another and both of them just going on like nothing. Until a customer speaks up and voices that they should pay attention to who's next in line, considering we can't do our own line policing. Then the young deli man gets upset because gray hair old deli man clocks off and he no longer is helping young deli man. Ignorant people at the self check-out that wouldn't allow a bank-issued debit card to be used to purchase a gift card. Thankfully they let me buy the first one because my card was already charged but they didn't let me buy the second one. So stupid, cash is cash! I went over to the Hallmark store and bought another gift card with no issue. Now I am mad at this Safeway and won't shop there again for a good long time. I hope you are happy with sticking to "company policy" and not even listening to your customer to realize the card I was using was NOT a gift card, but a bank-issued debit card. read more

Ive never had to ask for manager hardly ever in my life.. I just go about my business.. but when I inquired, this evening.. No manager available at this location. The young man in the beanie in the meat department is mouthy towards customers. He said something under his breath directed towards me. Took me a minute to realize it. I thought.. hey he's having a bad day no worries I got thick skin.. And then I saw him talking to his buddy in produce about it. And then at 7:25ish. (Check the cameras if internal management is curious) I was not confrontational and I simply asked for his name. And he was pretend shocked like he did something wrong and would not tell me his name. I know it doesn't do any good to complain on yelp especially a huge chain like Safeway. It's embarrassing to keep employees that so obviously dislike their jobs. Horrid delivery "service" items not in stock were not filled despite identical items right next to the item. I placed the order when too ill to go myself. I noticed three full hours prior to delivery that half my order was not filled. I called to try and explain that the item next to what I wanted was the same, they chose not to fill those items. Even with three hours remaining before delivery they said there was nothing they could do. Thinking of using their service? Don't. Sign in difficulties throughout the process and would not take the introductory promo code. Calling; though, three hours prior to delivery won't help you either. read more

I've gone to this Safeway for over 15+ years.... I want to give a specific shout out to Lisa in Floral. She is an absolute gem. I've gone to her for MANY special occasions for flowers and balloons and she has always been delightful to work with! I moved away and still drive out of my way to see her passing many other grocery stores to specifically have Lisa help me with flowers and balloons. Most recently, Lisa helped my husband and I with our first baby gender reveal party. She found out before we did we were having a baby boy! Made an appointment for a COVID vaccine just to show up and them telling me that they are expired. I don't understand why they would let people show up and telling them they can't get it. Also if you make an appointment and it gives you the option to choose which one you would like they told me they didn't have pfizer. Way overpriced for a safeway. Also when ordering from the deli it is best to just not talk to anyone. I tried to be friendly with the man working behind the counter. He continued to complain that it was his only day off and he was here closing by himself. They shut off the cases at 800 pm and they normally close it at 9. I needed a few things out of the case. I frequent this Safeway out of desperation, as it is the closest grocery to my house for last-minute needs. I only go here when there isn't enough time to go to a grocer that does not suck. While some of the cashiers are very friendly, I've never had an experience that didn't seem like "canned" customer service. They are all like robots, reciting scripts. It's so terribly fake and insencere, it makes me quite uncomfortable. And the store manager? Bob? Total. Creeper. If he were to walk by my car on the street, I'd lock my doors instinctively and hide my children. I hide from this guy when I see him in the store. This Safeway is within walking distance to me, but I've only walked to it once...Hmm, note to self "Walk here more, and everywhere else for that matter." I know where most things in the store are, and if I don't, then I look up, read the signs and find my way. & if that doesn't work, then I look aroundfrantically , is there another way?.... and find a worker bee. They are usually pretty helpful, and do so with a smile. Last time I was in, I knew what I wanted, got it, dashed to the Self-Check out, smart idea whoever thought of it, and I left. But I have been in a few times when I wasn't sure where something was, found someone quickly and they helped me out. Next time I will have to test them with a story problem such as having a "some theme here", what kind of snacks should I have" and " do you think this drink will go well with that food?". Even if they don't have the correct answer, I'm sure I'll be happy that they try. Cause most of them do seem like they want to help customers. The bakery always has some fancy looking cakes and desserts in the front displays and fruit is usually a good section. I haven't found any spiders on the bananas thankfully!! My main go-to aisle is the magazine/book aisle and they have a nice selection for men and women, and teens. It's an overall good Safeway, you can find what you need and leave faster with the self checkout. read more

CUSTOMER SERVICE IS TRASH LIKE WTH PLS READ....Personally I'm a minor and I never shopped for groceries in any Safeway and honestly after my experience I don't ever want to shop at this Safeway EVER. So basically my mom goes here often so I decided to go with her for chips. she loves coupons and I know she tends to get upset when she doesn't get the right deal which I think is annoying but it's just the way she is!! I also have a job so I know how annoying customers are when they want a refund for like 3$ but they're still customers and if I can't give it I'll tell them in a polite manner. So basically after my mom and I exited literally less than 3 minutes later, she noticed that they didn't have the right price for an item she used a coupon on, so she went to this older man to ask him about it and he literally went like "I refunded you, and you (me who literally bought a bag of chips) earlier... you guys were just here 2 hours ago...I refunded you and you" LITERALLY MAKING UP FUCKING LIES MAKING US SEEM LIKE SOME KIND OF MONEY HUNGRY CUSTOMERS !! HE Was also very pushy about it and not calm so it clearly drove ppls attention Like I know that my mom has a thick accent but it's not fucking easy to manipulate her ... I am frustrated that the store is more expensive than other stores and that the only reason I go there is to pick up certain items which they frequently run out of. Buy more pistachio ice cream dammit. If you had the pistachio ice cream I might be able to stomach paying twice as much here than I do other places. This review is for the Starbucks inside of the Safeway: I had gotten my drink from another Starbucks and it was made wrong, I was already in the Silver lake area and stopped in this location to remake my drink since that is the Starbucks standard (they will remake your drink if it was made wrong, no matter what location it was made)but I guess this location doesn't honor this since I was turned away and told I was wrong and they don't remake drinks from other locations, ended up throwing away my drink and without coffee..lesson learned, I will not be returning to this location and will start tasting my drinks before I leave.. read more

Luckily my husband and I don't have to shop at this Safeway since we moved out of the Silver Lake area... but we happened to be close to this one and needed to grab some groceries before heading home. My husband takes salami and cheese for his lunches at work, the wait at the deli wasn't too bad, but the guy helping us was awful. I've seen molasses move quicker than this guy.. he also didn't have his shoulder length greasy hair pulled back under his hat(as someone who also works and manages food establishments...this is a huge violation)He couldn't even be bothered to unwrap the salami log before slicing it... I guess at least we know it's super fresh and brand new, but seriously? You can't even unwrap it to slice it? I'm sure the wrapping is great for the slicer too.. It was all over the meat, not just around the outside (would've been far less annoyed if it had only been around the outside) but it was also on the meat slices. This Safeway has great deals on meat, friendly staff and a very good bakery. I have been shopping here for almost 10 years. I once saved over $200 on ground beef because I was there on a sale day. I bought every ground beef they had. Watch for deals and talk to the butchers for best savings. Staff checkers are always laid back and like talking to customers. My favorite thing about this store is the bakery and the bakery manager, Slobodanka. The artisian (French) bread is baked fresh every day and is better than Albertson's fresh bread. Bagels and other rolls are also very good and inexpensive. Slobodanka is happy to answer any questions, is very friendly and honest with me about bread freshness. I think her professionalism as a baker is why the bakery is so good. read more

Best chicken wing bar around. The chicken wing bars are different at different Safeway locations. This one is always stocked and the wings are never too hot or dried out like at other locations. Gets a bit crowded at times but they just put in a new row of self checkout machines so for a quick bite to go it's great. Overall deli seems pretty good and quite popular too. The only real drag is you have to go to the Starbucks inside to get napkins if you want to eat in your car. This is the case at all Safeway's it seems. read more
