Sometimes I get nice, polite cashiers and others complete stone cold and rude. Most of the employees are Caucasian (probably due to the local population). I am a person of Color. Ironically there is one POC employee, a young tall man, I believe is Indian, who played Chicken with me with his large utility cart used for stocking shelves. He blocked me in an aisle where there is room for only one. It was him and his large cart vs. me and my small shopping cart. He pressed forward, forcing me to backup. The rep was nice enough but their policy was ridiculous. I had a telegraphy prescription I wanted to get filled - something that is increasingly common nowadays and is emerging in this cHanging business climate - and this pharmacy WOULD NIT FILL MY PRESCRIPTION unless the provider is going to "build a relationship with them" , which I have no control over, or if I was an established customer prior to COVID which I wasn't even living here. In the end they said they "can't just accept any old prescription from anyone off the street" will no sh*t who can?! That's not what this was. The telegraphy provider is licensed with both the state and the feds to write prescriptions and that's easily verifiable. Again, the young lady on the phone was nice, but her message was terrible. I had a request for a script they had and they refused to fill b/c they're apparently antiquated and resistant to change. So after suffering all through the night, I finally got medical help at 400 AM on New Year's Day. The only issue was that there are no pharmacies for prescriptions in the Seattle area that are open 24 hours or on a holiday except this location. I called to make sure they were open before my doctor filed the prescription-the person on the phone (later I found he was the pharmacist) wanted to make sure he had the medication before I made the drive out, which was so kind because I was in so much pain. When I got there, it was about 20 miles. There were about 4 cars in the drive-up pharmacy lane, and 1 person in the store waiting in front of me. The pharmacist was by himself, working and taking care of a lot of people on a holiday was unbelievably kind, empathetic, and had a smile on his face for all the people picking up. I have a gum infection below a tooth & this drug would make short work of the infection. But not here in the U.S. without a prescription. We also found a lot of doctors will want to run a bunch of tests, most just to make money for the doctor and no help to you. Do a search on Drugs.com and you will see it truly is a generic drug. I picked Walgreens simply because they probably have more clot as they are located in a hospital. I did a search of Canadian drug stores, could spend a week and get no where. I am not sure if contacting your Representative would help, I never got a response in the past from any. Remember they are in the pocket of big business and they don't give a rats about you. I was hoping to find some clothing, blankets, or Christmas socks, but nope--completely wiped out. I didn't even see any Christmas cards or gift wrap left. We also returned a gift we got from a white elephant exchange. Even though we didn't have the receipt, they just ask to check for our ID. The return was super easy. They just gave us a gift card for it.

The environment was very relaxing and there was almost no line inside (though I believe there were a few cars in the drive-thru). The lovely pharmacy assistant that helped check me out was very nice and helped set up my prescriptions to auto-renew. Heaven knows I'm horrible at remembering to call in my refills until it's too late so hopefully this helps future me! Mind you, I have been to SEVERAL pharmacies in the area--usually grocery stores (several Safeways, Fred Meyer, QFC, Costco, Walgreens--you name it) and average spending at LEAST a half hour in line in a severely understaffed pharmacy with a single stressed out pharmacist juggling multiple tasks. I got none of these stressy vibes at Ostroms. The shop was super cute too and I will definitely find something here next time I need to purchase a gift.
