Nice folks there and very helpful. Small store, but all you need is there. Produce is well kept, and they keep the shelves stocked. It's the Safeway I choose most often. Love the real Sourdough French Bread baked fresh daily, and the fresh baked goods. They have a great wine/beer/etc selection in Silverton for a small store. Usually clean and well lit (compared to the other Safeway off Hi 22, which sometimes is not well staffed and has tired looking produce). In Silverton, lots put out in the deli section, but could really do well if they had fresh items for sandwiches instead of just packaged meat. Lots of markets sell subs....and my favorite markets have had fresh roasted roast beef on a spit and good prepared fruit and bean salads. If they improved those areas, they would get to the next level. read more

I hate this store and their lack of management. If they at least acknowledged that they were short handed or slow it wouldn't be as bad. But they don't give a shit. They just keep snailing along. I used to think very highly of this location, as it was the only Safeway from Vancouver down to Salem with actual good customer service. However (as Safeway usually does), coupons did not apply at check out and I had to get help. The lady who helped me had a low voice (BUT HER TONE WAS WHAT GOT ME) and an aggressive tone, ripped my phone from me, and just wouldn't let me apply $1 savings. Was it worth it, old lady working at self-checkout 2/28/22 8:35am!?! Wasn't worth losing a customer over $1, was it? The level of stupidity of these workers amuse me, but the corporation as a whole brings even more entertainment into my life. Maybe it's worth saving your corporation by investing in setting up an app that actually works and coupons clipped on the app actually apply at checkout. I have shopped here for years. It's gotten more expensive and less customer service. They run out of things on sale and shelves are often bare. I go to Salem to shop more often and try to only go to Safeway when I need something. read more

I went there and some of the staff were nice enough to tell me where I could get items that I was looking for. But when I went to the deli and section. One of the deli person named (angel I believe thats her name) just helped a customer get chicken wings and I was right behind him. When he purchased his items and left. I was not greeted to see if I would like any thing nor was there a smile. lol serious face the young lady had. I walked up asking her for some chicken tenders. Once she collected a pound of them, handed me the bag and did not ask if I wanted to pay here or ask if I wanted any sauce. What kinda customer service are you giving here. I left like I was treated differently knowingly I was the only asian in the store. But I hope for some improvement for customer service and some damn smiles... come on. read more

If you have time to stand in line for 30+ min this is your place to go! They only have two cash registered open. Every time I go there are lines going down the isles. The cashiers are asking for breaks and management just tells them that so and so went home (feel bad for them) it's just horrible, packed and not enough cash registers opened for all those people try to shop and leave read more

We go for the price and that's it. The checkers are few and far between. So get ready for long lines. It's a daily problem here. The checkers are also lacking on etiquette. I'd rather not get embarrassing comments about the personal things I'm buying, and loud enough that people to check stands over hear. Every time I go to this Safeway I get mediocre service. I spoke with a lady in the bakery about ordering a cake and cupcakes and she was so completely uninterested in what I had to say that in mid sentence she left me standing there, went to two women with a bunch of kids that stood by the display area and started to help them. Since they only wanted free cookies for their kids, she returned rather quickly to me telling me "okay go ahead, what were you saying?". She had no personality, no customer service skills and could not tell me the difference in frosting. I told her never mind, I'll be going somewhere that hopefully cares about what I am trying to order. That horrible service was topped by the check out girl named Morgan. She flung my stuff across the belt, completely missed several of my items that were 50% off and when I pointed it out she gave me a nasty look, rolled her eyes and started taking off the amount. Tried to give her my coupon and she looked at me and went "geez" and ripped it out of my hand. She never greeted me, did not crack a smile, rolled her eyes at me and threw my food all over. I have so many examples of horrible service at this Safeway that I could go on and on. Those are just the most recent! Silverton needs a 3rd option besides Safeway with crabby, horrible employees and over priced Roths. Mostly these days I just shop out of town, this store is not worth the hassle. Management might want to look into getting new employees that have a work ethic besides these lazy entitled ones they go there right now! If you have your coupons ready to go and you have visited their app, the prices really do rival Walmart! The only complaint I have would be sometimes I encounter a bare shelf, in which they have given me a rain check to compensate. Awesome Safeway! I come here pretty commonly to grab something to eat, and the Deli is incredible with their food. Always happy to help me out, and their breakfast burritos are really good. No other Safeway I've been to has taken the time to make a breakfast burrito the way this store does. Great service! read more

I love this Safeway! I don't shop here as I don't live in this town. I only come for the breakfast burritos and Starbucks. Burritos are fantasticly made with love and care and my super complicated Starbucks drink is always on point. Other than that the store is clean and never over crowded. read more

Since being introduced to Silverton, a tiny little town off the beaten path that is I-5, I have quickly found that the town has its issues. Only two grocery stores. Roths or Safeway. Roths is VERY overpriced (sometimes 1-4 dollars more than other stores) and although it is cute, one realizes that folks are held hostage locally to the whims of the grocery retailer. Roths you will get some service, but Safeway is BEYOND ridiculous. Never enough checkers (yes, even when people are using WIC vouchers and the line is six people deep with one open checkstand), never enough smiles (only ATTITUDE from these sour puss people), Starbucks workers more interested in discussing their private date issues than waiting on customers (great example of Starbucks BAD service 101). No one at the customer service desk. And don't even ask about the Wells Fargo issues- choose another branch. Just overall a HORRID store, as far as Safeway (who runs out of bananas at 79 cents per pound?!!) business. Oh right...friend said it was supposed to be a Thriftway and Safeway came instead. If I could, I would not even give it one half star. Dirty, spoiling fruit (check that produce before bagging it) and overall lack of Safeway quality, IF in fact there is any. I will continue to plan my shopping for Portland and or Wilsonville. read more
