I was referred by a friend about Sage Audio's on line mastering services so I visited their website and saw that they offered a free sample of their work, so I figured that I had nothing to lose so I uploaded a song. I got it back 2 days later and then had a listen in our own studio monitors and was very happy with the results. They stayed true to the tones of my recording, did a great job at enhancing the stereo image and understood how the genre needs to sound ( I am a blues and jazz artist/producer ). The price was very fair ( 26$ X 12 songs = $312 + 35$ for sequencing, album text info and they supply a CD or DDP for a total of $347. Steve Corrao, the chief engineer was extremely nice ( as was every staff member I talked to and these folks want you to be happy with your music !! ) had very good communication with Steve as well . I had to ask for a few tweeks...Probably 2 or 3 things like volume adjustments and some fade out amendment's was NO extra charge for the tweeks.I often master myself and even if you're a pro, you still go back and fix this or fix that to your liking, so this was not unusual if you want your music just right ! PS - If your not sure about if they are right for you, just try their FREE sample and you'll know for yourself I would definitely use them again since I produce music year round for my career as an artist and also as a composer for film & TV for the past 20 + years. I've been using Sage Audio Mastering for a while now and have been very pleased with their professionalism and quality of work! I'm NOT new the audio production world and have been mixing and self-mastering for over a decade. I've used Grammy-winning mastering engineers as well as online AI-Driven mastering services including LANDR out of the UK, so I know the full range of mastering services available to artists and their producers. What sets Sage apart IMO and, in my experience, is that they are very customer-centric and will do almost anything to make the customer happy with their work. An example is a recent master I wasn't 100% happy with because it was too compressed for Classical material. Steve jumped right on it, giving me another more gently compressed master, which I'm delighted with. This was a NO EXTRA CHARGE. I know from experience that this isn't the norm in this industry where egos prevail. An example of Sage's superior work is when a client I'm working with wanted proof that it was better than a well-known, low-cost AI-Driven mastering service. While my instructions to both Sage and the online service were close, only Sage had a human to interpret some of the instruction. As a result, the Sage master was considerably LOUDER, and had more HEADROOM to boot. You can't ask for much more for a Pop song. In summary, I'd recommend Sage to others, and have other clients asking me questions about them for their upcoming releases. Give them a shot. I'm sure you'll be pleased. A few months ago a friend of mine recommended I try Sage for my final master. Being a mix engineer myself, I was hesitant at first due to the fact that in the past when using online mastering I found that no engineer would care for the track as much as I would. Knowing the basic rule of thumb that you always want to have another set of ears to master anything you've mixed, I realized I had hit plataue in how far I could take my final master. To my surprise, Steve and his team took my masters to a level I could not, both dynamically and sonically. I am a full time artist whose constantly recording, releasing, and traveling. The burden that the Sage team has taken off my shoulders by being a trustworthy mastering service is tremendous. Steve has provided me with quick turn arounds while out of the country to meet deadlines for releases and is understanding & receptive when I request changes after hearing the master, even going as far to follow up with me confirming that I am %100 happy with the final result, quoting " I'm not happy unless you're happy". Any good sound engineer knows thats there are a million ways to reach a rich dynamic end result, and that you are never done learning how to engineer. The last ten years of my mixing audio career have been plagued by frustration self doubt, compulsive shopping of magic game changer analog plugins that can fix my poor mixes and making great!, glossy, commercial...guess what...it was all wasted time and money. I was shooting in the dark. Until now I had heard about Sage Audio long ago, but at the time it seems to me too expensive, how wrong I was. Firstly, there is no substitute for hard work, you must do your part, what this service gave me what's perspective, what's different this master from my own?, why?, what I'm missing?, how can I improve my final mixdown in order to get the best possible master, and the best part, I have made a bunch of masters by my own with an incredible good response, my confidence is back, with no additional plugins, no new DAW, not even new speakers. The included course is really useful and well explained, but to me the real power is the community and engineers feedback, nothing like a second set of ears, or a lot!!!, pro mastering guys advice is priceless, and solutions to common problems suddenly become very simple. I have been a member for 6 months I think, and all services are excellent. Content gets better every week. We're currently at the beginning of a very promising mixing course, I have no plans to unsubscribe anytime soon. I clearly do not understand the 1 star reviews on here for Sage. Steve is one of the best and brightest audio engineers in the business. The two guys with 1 star reviews here do not know what mastering is. They want the mastering engineer to correct the flaws in their songs. Or in one guys case, provide tracks he either didn't write or was too stupid to bounce. Mastering can't make an artist an artist; he or she is, or at least trying to be, or they are not. It's about that final balancing of the sonic elements into a cohesive production suitable for playback across a broad spectrum of playback devices. Its about taking it out of your studio and delivering it to the world. It takes a keen ear and a ton of broad industry experience to add that polish to what should already be a work of art. Of late, Steve has started to provide feedback to help those of lesser experience understand how to better craft their sound design, and mix their tracks into a cohesive piece, teaching solid sound design, space and dimension. BUT HE CAN'T DO IT FOR YOU; NOR SHOULD HE. And believe me, the guys that say they will, will not achieve YOUR artistic goal, they will achieve THEIRS. Is that what you really want? I've been a member of Sage Audio since the end of 2023 after discovering their YouTube videos. Their free info was so good that I decided to join the membership for the premium courses and I'm so pumped I did. The courses lists have grown since I've been there (there are currently courses for mixing, pre-mastering and mastering) and they're incredibly helpful. Super informative, direct and to the point and instantly applicable - I find its helped clear the path of any misinformation (that I've picked up over the years) and most importantly its empowering me to finish music on my own (and way faster). The other massive perk from the membership is the included mastering credits which I've just used my first one! Sounds absolutely great and it was done to spec as per my notes and desired LUFs. It blew away the version I did with Ozone 11 Advanced. I don't really see myself needing to go anywhere else for mastering - the product is top tier and the price is truly unbeatable. Beyond that I added an additional service to my membership which is 1on1 mentorship. I attached a screenshot below but its whatever you need help with - for my first instance I received help on fixing up my mix up and we've gone back a few times since! I legit wouldn't have nearly as good of a product if it weren't for Sage Audio. I am a musician and songwriter with decent recording skills but could never get my final mix mastered to where the EQ, volume and clarity sounded good on all media without distortion. I conducted extensive research on mastering and tried expensive studio headphones but never quite mastered mastering. It was very frustrating and taking up way too much time away from my music. Then I found the Sage Audio site and it sounded like just the service I needed at a reasonable price. It was a game-changing decision. Steve always responds quickly and is focused on pleasing his customers. He has mastered several of my songs and they all came out perfect. My writing partner and I have recorded and mixed 5 albums and a few singles. We then had them all mastered externally. The first four albums were all mastered by the same company that manufactured the cds. This "all in-house" approached worked great for us. The masters were good, and we developed a better and critical understanding that mastering is only as good as the mixes provided. Having said that, I worked hard at producing the mixes that would only be enhanced by the mastering process, and continued to see improvement in the mastering process. Upon preparing for having our 5th album mastered, I did some exploration for other available mastering opportunities. I'm a musician.I go by the name of Credell.I been using sage audio for ten years.I have not heard anything quality from no other company.No other online Mastering Company is more professional industry standard than sage Audio.I been using their services for about Ten years . Other companies I personally dealt with use plugs ins and cut corners with sage audio you can be sure to get a quality Master song or album.The only Thing to that is if I send a song and it's not mixed Correctly it won't be Mastered to the highest degree,yet will sound mastered based on the skill level of the engineering. The only thing I can say you will never find a Company that's on an industry level more than stage audio and additional to the low price for the great quality.
