George Gruhn is the God Father of vintage stringed instruments. He was there before pretty much anyone else. The shop is full of great guitars and I have been guilty of buying more here than anywhere else. They aren't perfect as I bought a 1960 Martin D-28 that had to have the neck reset but they took care of me. Great staff that has been here years. If you want the good stuff all in one place this is probably it.

He was excited to see all the guitars , We left with a much needed capo, Everyone was super nice

Friendly staff, beautiful store. My son will probably ask me to take him back pretty soon.

Thank you so much for being so welcoming and kind to me. I came in as a stranger and I left as a friend. Mr. George is so kind and his team is amazing! A shout-out to Mr. George, Nectaria, Gary and Dalia. Thank you all for allowing me to just be there, show me around the place, tell me about the store, stare at your beautiful master pieces and take pictures. I was in awe in this store.

Every time we come to Nashville Gruhn Guitars is our first stop. It's a guitar lovers dream. Great selection and very friendly staff.

Great selection of new and used gear

Great selection of guitars from new to old. Look forward to going back and more lefties.

George Gruhn has been offering an amazing experience for decades for guitar enthusiasts at his store Gruhn Guitars. In high school, my grandparents somehow found out about his store and surprised me with a custom Les Paul for my thirteenth birthday. I've still got the original paperwork. A few years ago I got to finally visit the store. It's so cool! There's so many unique instruments there. Currently they are offering appointment only viewings of the showroom or appointment only repairs and curbside pickup. Worth a drive over Monteagle Mountain.

[I came in looking for a certifiable Fender Telecaster and that's exactly what I found. Corey seamlessly facilitated it for me and now I'm the happiest picker on the planet. Thank you to my wife, to Corey, and to Gruhn Guitars!]

Great folks. They gave me a tuner that was a promotional item and they didn't have to do that.

If you're a guitar player you'll get WAY more out of the experience, drooling over all the amazing offerings and maybe even playing a few, too! Electric, acoustic, vintage, new bodies, etc. They're sectioned into different spaces based on type and a very cool conveyor belt moves them through the showroom along the perimeter of the ceiling, too. Very flashy! They're very serious about care here, too The acoustics are in a separate, humidity controlled room. That's where my husband spent most of his time as he's been considering buying a new one. The tech was awesome and let him play a variety of options to help him narrow it down. They also have a ton of accessories, amps, bits and bobs you need to keep your investment in top shape. And they also have some fun souvenirs like tees, mugs, books, etc. And there's a fun stage where they'll have in store performances every so often, too. After a while I kind of lost my steam since I'm not super familiar with the merchandise but they staff there is awesome and we had a great time chatting and they kept me wonderfully entertained while my husband made his rounds. Great folks, great space, amazing products!

When Kim Sherman took the reigns in 1998, she raised the bar from Richard Cotten's little corner hideaway into a world class guitar shop. Her warmth and Kentucky charm was blended with her vast knowledge of guitars, artists and the know how to suite every player's needs at any price range. That's no small fete. But, she did it by treating every buyer as special regardless of the size of their pocketbook. Placing goodness and honesty over the value of the dollar, her adoring fandom grew. This year, she was able to expand her inventory to include rare masterpieces from boutique makers from the world over by her partnership with London-based The North American Guitar. And, rather than losing the identity of her great shop where genuine warmth and Nashville courtesy always reigned supreme, she carefully chose her expanded staff to ensure her philosophy was not lost. Her inventory is now world class. But, you still feel like a valued guest and a member of her guitar family. Sound corny? Check it out for yourself. Her shop is a gem by any name. It's still Kim's fabulous corner of the guitar universe, but, bigger and better. To quote Kim, her single goal is "to just do right by my customers." And, that she does, as she has for 22 years, and will likely continue to do as long as there are guitars and players who need them.

I have compared it to many others at a local California shop over the course of the year and it has turned out to be hands down the best sounding Collings I've played. I visited the store on the way through Nashville this summer and found several outstanding guitars on hand, acoustic and electric, new and used. They had a few Santa Cruz acoustics I would have been very tempted to buy if it hadn't been for my Collings. It didn't bother me that they were vigilant and attentive while I tried out guitars -- the pickguard cover and all that. Salesperson Austin was friendly and helpful; I didn't feel rushed or anything, and the sales pitch was soft enough not to drive me away. The main thing is that for some reason this place seems to have exceptionally nice guitars. They are a little pricier compared to some other shops that carry the same makes, but they're definitely worth checking out when searching for that special guitar (and you have around $5k to spend). They also carry Carr and Dr Z amps, Fender Custom Shop electrics, and National Resonators, all stuff I love.
