It's understandable large companies are going to have some complaints but when there are so many within a few months, people concerned about not receiving their refund pending supposedly checks in the mail and it's been over 30 days. 1-Star Review I would strongly recommend thinking twice before purchasing a policy from SageSure. I opened a homeowners policy for my new home, and the policy was canceled the very same day. The refund was approved, yet more than two months later I'm still waiting to receive my money. I've contacted customer service multiple times. Each time I'm told the refund has already been sent, but no one is willing to provide a check number, tracking information, or any documentation showing where the payment was sent. The only response I continue to receive is that it's "in the mail." As a customer, that's simply not acceptable. If a refund has been issued, there should be a way to verify it. Instead, I've spent weeks following up with no resolution and no transparency. Mistakes can happen, but how a company handles them is what matters. Unfortunately, this experience has been frustrating, time-consuming, and disappointing. If anyone from SageSure management reads this, I'd appreciate someone taking ownership of this issue, providing proof of payment, or reissuing the refund immediately. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COST! I had to cancel my home policy due to an extra charge of $235 identified by them as "Endorsed Charge". This charge was added to the total premium of 12 months period policy. THIS IS CALLED "RIP-OFF" When I canceled the policy, they deducted all that amount from the initial payment instead of a pro-rating charge for the 49 days active policy. I spoke and emailed them many times and the issue was not resolved! The last person I spoke with does not seem to be competent!! A complaint with NJDOBI-Division of insurance will be filed by next week if this scammed charge has not been reimbursed. The holding of this fund is A RIF-OFF AND SCAM!!! Filing a simple hail damage claim has been an absolute nightmare with SageSure. Here's why: In January of this year, I switched from SageSure to Farmers. In May of this year ('26), I listed my home for sale and, during the listing process, learned that my roof had hail damage. Having never filed an insurance claim before, I mistakenly filed the claim with my current insurer, Farmers. Within two days, they inspected my roof and found clear signs of hail damage to both the roof and gutter downspouts. The inspector told me to expect payment within a few hours. Later that day, however, he called back to explain that there had not been a hailstorm in my area since May 2025, which meant the damage occurred while SageSure insured my home. He advised me to file the claim with SageSure instead. That's when the nightmare began. After filing my claim with SageSure, I noticed their online claim tracker never updated, so I had no idea where my claim stood. My adjuster, Ashley T., called several days later, and I missed her call by only a few seconds. I returned her call within 30 seconds, but it went straight to voicemail. I called several more times that day and continued calling almost daily for nearly a week. Every call went directly to voicemail. I eventually contacted SageSure's main customer service line to explain that I couldn't reach my adjuster because her calls appeared to be forwarded directly to voicemail. Within minutes, Ashley called me back and said she would send an inspector. It took more than two additional weeks before an inspector finally came to my home. During that time, I made several more attempts to contact Ashley. Her phone eventually stopped going directly to voicemail, but she still never answered or returned my calls. After the SageSure inspection, I waited nearly two more weeks for underwriting to review the report. My claim was ultimately denied. SageSure stated there were "no signs of hail damage" to my roof or gutters and concluded that the condition of the roof was simply normal wear and tear. That made no sense. By that point, I had already received documented evidence of hail damage from an independent roofing company and from Farmers. To be certain, I contacted a second roofing company. They came out within two hours, performed a thorough inspection, photographed the damage, and provided an estimate. They believed the damage appeared newer and suggested I file another claim with Farmers in case additional hail had occurred after their first inspection. The second Farmers inspector also found significant hail damage. He told me there was absolutely no question the damage was caused by hail and warned that if the roof wasn't replaced, it would continue to deteriorate and could eventually cause water damage inside my home. However, after researching weather records, he reached the same conclusion as the first inspector: there had been no hail in my area since May 2025. Because of that, Farmers correctly denied the claim since they weren't my insurer when the damage occurred. So now I have: * Two independent roofing companies documenting hail damage. * Two separate Farmers inspections confirming significant hail damage. * Weather records confirming the last hail event occurred while my home was insured by SageSure. And now I'm forced to start over by appealing SageSure's denial. This is a simple hail damage claim, not a total-loss house fire. Farmers handled two claims from filing to inspection and complete reports in a combined four days. SageSure took a month to communicate, delayed the inspection, and ultimately denied a claim now confirmed by four separate, reputable evaluations. It's difficult to understand how four independent inspections all found clear hail damage while SageSure found none. At this point, all four sources agree the damage occurred during the period my home was insured by SageSure. The SageSure inspector was either inexperienced or incompetent. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend SageSure. My new home builder is recommending them, but I will be using Farmers. read more

Stay far, far, far away from SageSure! Filing an insurance claim for hail damage to our roof with SageSure has been horrible. The majority of our neighbors have had their roofs replaced by their insurance companies for the same hail events. SageSure took months to finally get back to us to state that they acknowledge that there is hail damage on our fascia trim, siding, and gutters but somehow not to our roof. Please make this make sense. They stated that we can dispute this, which we've tried to do via our roofing contractor, but he can't seem to get a hold of anyone. SageSure is a prime example of why people hate insurance companies. They just want you to feed them money but don't want you to ever file a claim. Depending on how the rest of our experience goes throughout our dispute, I may update my review(s) to reflect a positive experience or contact the BBB to report my terrible experience. If anyone has had a similar experience, I would reach out to the BBB also. 7/23/2026: My contractor provided photos that clearly show evidence of hail damage. SageSure has stated that they're standing by their determination that there's no hail damage. Only my gutters, siding, and fascia took hail damage. So, it damaged all of that, as well as all of my neighbors roofs but somehow missed our roof that faces up toward the sky at multiple angles. I'll be reporting them to the BBB. Never filed a claim, price continued to go up with renewals (unfortunately this isn't specific to Sage, so not holding that against them here). My primary complaint is that when paying with anything other than ACH (which is not safe from a cybersecurity standpoint) or check (which takes weeks to arrive and clear), they force you to pay an $82+ fee to pay with credit or EVEN a debit card, whether paid online or via phone. This is an atrocious fee for no reason and whatever processor they use is getting rich for basically nothing. I had been with the same agent for the last 20+ years. We received notice that Kemper was pulling out of Texas, and that they would not renew either our home or auto insurance. The search for new insurance started, and I was in for a shock. The first thing that shocked me was that our insurance was going up at least 4 times what I was paying. The second shocking thing was that some insurance companies were penalizing us for having a glass claim. We used a company that repaired the chip for about $89 vs paying more than $400 for a new windshield and some of the companies treated it as a major claim. We got treated really well by an agent for Farmers. We had multiple conversations with her, and she brought us the best price for both home and auto. What we didn't realize at first was that she was quoting Sage for the homeowner insurance. We paid the total bill up front and thought everything was fine. Then the Sage underwriter decided that our home needed to be inspected on both the inside and outside. An appointment was made for the inspector, and that was for another 3 weeks out. On the date scheduled a nice young man showed up. The first thing that happened was that he was scared of our dogs. We told him no problem as we could put them up. The next thing was taking him into each and every room so that he could take pictures. After that, he did the same to the exterior of the house plus he measured everything. A couple of weeks later we found that we had passed the inspection. However, we also received notice that our home policy was being adjusted, and the price was going up. We talked to the agent and she said the inspection had added square footage to the house due to all of our porches and our deck. She said she would look into it. After a couple of weeks, we had not heard from her. I reached out by phone and email but got no response. Then we received a notice that the policy price was going up another $500. We also received notice that payment was due. I reached out to the agent again but got no response. Finally, I reviewed the policy on line and found out most of the extra charges were removed. I've still not heard from the agent. Will I return for another year of insurance? With the lack of communication from this agent, I will definitely shop around. read more

WARNING: DO NOT USE GEICO OR SAGESURE FOR HOMEOWNERS INSURANCE. I've been using Geico as my insurance broker on my homeowners insurance in Suffolk County, NY for the past 3+ years. In May, the company I used HomeSite dropped me citing that they were leaving the area. I got a new company through Geico, SageSure. They sent someone to the house to inspect it. Then I heard nothing. Geico called me, leaving a message to tell me that the insurance wouldn't renew. But the renewal date in my app and on my policy was 05/2026 so I didn't worry about it. I couldn't get back in touch with them through the phone numbers that I had both to the Geico corp nor Local office. So, I emailed the local office. I emailed the contractors that had sold me the policy. I emailed SageSure. I heard NOTHING back from anyone. Then this week I emailed SageSure again to check the status of my policy after not hearing anything from my last 2 outreaches over the past few weeks. They told me to reach out to my Geico Local office that sold me the policy. I did that AGAIN and couldn't get in touch with anyone. I told them I couldn't get in touch with anyone. They then sent me a cancellation for my policy that was dated retroactively for 2 weeks ago. I told them I had never received any cancellation notice. They then told me that my settings were paperless so I should check my email. Nope. Nothing. I sent them screenshots of my inbox, there was not a single communication from them about cancellation. I asked for a 30 day extension while I figure out how to respond since that's the legally mandated notice timeframe for cancelling someone's homeowners insurance. They refused that & told me I would continue to be cancelled. Has anyone else has this experience? How did you resolve? I have filed a formal complaint through DFS in NY. What other levers do I have to counter this? It's utterly criminal to leave someone completely uninsured. read more

I was recommended them for homeowners insurance via a broker when I bought a new home. All info about the home was given to them and I paid my annual premium. Like many other of the one star reviews here, SageSure has caused our family undue stress over a claim filed, denied and now they are saying they won't renew the policy because the inspector noticed damaged to our home during a his inspection visit. Of course there was damage, that's why I filed a claim! I took the loss after the claim denial and paid a contractor out of pocket to fix the damage a storm caused to our exterior siding since SafeSure denied the claim in full (saying damage was due to prior termite issue which I might add is a very generic unproven excuse which I now learned is one one their common reasons to deny claims.) I thought the worst was over until recently SageSure sent me a non renewal even after I submitted contractor invoices and photos of the completed repairs (that I paid for!). The whole experience is truly maddening and a waste of time. Long story short, save yourself money and headache and go with a different carrier. Buyer beware. read more

My complaints: The customer service agents are ignorant and incredibly rude. Managers reading this, listen to my call on 6/4/2025 at 8:23am and be prepared to fire someone. The company added up all the policy fees incorrectly and overcharged me. 3 customer service reps, 2 managers, 4 phone calls,1 email, 1 chat and still no one can answer my simple question. They always say they'll get back to me but never do. They've also failed to disclose policy fees, which is illegal in NC, so I filed a complaint with the NC Insurance Commissioners office since no one wants to help me from there. I've been left no choice and they backed me into a corner. I wonder how a claim will go if they can't even explain a mysterious fee they charged me for. You've been warned. read more

Wanted us to replace a perfectly fine roof (I had a certified inspector check roof afterwards, Sagesure inspector was all wrong), additionally wanted us to correct all sorts of ridiculous issues. Even commented on color of pool water? We found another insurance company, now we cannot get Sagesure to refund us our payment. This company tried to cancel our homework insurance because a neighbor's tree had some branches leaning over the fence to our property. Also, they said there was a bush in front of our house that was too full. We had a professionally trimmed and cut back. We submitted photos Believing this would satisfy their issues. They then gave another notice for cancellation because there were some ground level bushes near our fence. That was enough. We decided to completely cancel the policy and they charged a $1000 cancellation fee. Unbelievable. I'd rather spend twice as much than deal with this company ever again. The rating say it all. Do not deal with SageSure unless you want to get scammed. I had a water leak problem which SageSure responded to. The Water Mitigation company (Rhytec - a preferred vendor) was sent to my home for initial remediation which turned out to be a scam company. In the second phase of repair, SageSure sent a repair company (EE&G - a preferred vendor) which dismantled my entire Master Bath and put the contents in my garage for repair. They took my $2500.00 deductible and never returned for the repair. EE&G also submitted a supplemental requirement to SageSureI to increase the damage repair estimates to over $20K. SageSure approved the supplemental requirement and sent four separate checks (circa $23K) to their third party company that selects their preferred vendors. From that point on the preferred vendor never returned to do the repair work. I ended up paying for the entire repair out of pocket and am addressing the issue through legal channels Be aware! read more

This was one of the worst experiences I've ever had with a company. To start off, they lost my check that was sent from the title for escrow and never applied it to my account and I found out three days before they were going to cancel me. It was resent and overnighted and they still couldn't find it and they canceled my insurance. Thankfully, it was found the next day and reinstated. Then the inspector shows up on unannounced on a Sunday does the inspection of the house and tells me everything looks fine. you should be good and I never get a response. I follow up multiple times trying to find out if the inspection is good if everything's good to go and I hear nothing and then I finally login and make a phone call and they tell me oh we're gonna cancel your policy actually and then I speak to three different people and they tell me three different reasons I fix what I thought I had to fix and then they tell me there's even more reasons and I could never get a straight answer on the reason for the cancellation. The insurance rep through which I bought the policy calls on my behalf and demands a full answer, gets a full answer in by that point the amount of unreasonable things that they wanted done was enough to just let the policy lapse and go with a different company. Their customer service leaves a lot to be desired and they want a 30+-year-old house to look like it was built two months ago. Can't give a negative. My insurance went from 1K to 6K. Basically climbed a grand every year. Not a single claim against the insurance company. Two months ago I had a claim....the claim is less than a quarter of the combined premiums. As SageSure does in Texas they reject all claims, and you have to hire a public adjuster and a lawyer to cover your rights. Every resident in the Houston area that I know have gone through this process. SageSure Denies, you have to fight and it costs money, taking away from any financial legitimate claim they arbitrarily deny. read more

Really ridiculous service for my house. Hurricane damage my roof and the floor inside was flooded in Beryl. After hundreds of calls and emails, the adjuster final agreeded with water restoration inspection. And we have to keep calling and emailing them for months to get the reinburstment. The most frustrating thing was we had been assigned to 6 adjusters in this claim and everytime he/she needed 1-2 weeks to go thru my claim. The hurricane happened 7/8/2024. The repair check finally issued last week. It tooks sooooooo long time. And also an adjuster said to me in a call that, I quote, "people lived in 18th century can survive without AC. So your house with no AC is totally inhabitable. " it was July in Houston, Texas!!! Imagine no AC for the whole summer in Houston!!! In Texas tree limbs that shade your roof from the blazing Texas sun are very desirable. A shaded roof can decrease attic temperatures by 8 to 10 degrees. A shaded roof can also increase the life span of your roof. A shaded roof translates into lower utility bills and a longer-lasting roof. If you want to keep your shaded roof, do not get insurance with SageSure Insurance. Their policy is that any branch overhanging the roof must be removed. This is not just branches touching the roof line. This is ANY branch overhanging the roof line. Although they appear to be the less expensive option for your home insurance, the cost to remove large, large, large limbs (thousands of dollars) and the extra cost of utility bills will translate into more expenses. I have sagesure for several years, about 7 year, esch year by the ends of October? they send my my total amount split in monthly payments. by mail, today they get the money out of my bank. with out my autorization, every year they send me a package with the total amount : split in 6 months today they took the Monthly payment $866,00 and I called the Insurance? I got a policy in April with these people. They wanted to do an inspection on the house but did not have my number so they sent a cancelation. Once I realized they were trying to contact me I reached out and scheduled the inspection. The inspection was done on June 21st. At that point my thought was that I would at least be covered until someone got to the inspection. Its been 3 weeks since the inspection and now I am being told I may not have insurance. This IS WRONG! Bare minimum until someone looks at the inspection I should have insurance. I paid for insurance and set up the inspection. I do not feel like I should be penalized because they are not reviewing it. I have called 3 times and have spent several hours trying to determine if I have insurance or not and if we can get someone to review the inspection. This is not a way to do business. Its 7/10/2024 and I am in Houston and I just rode out a hurricane not knowing if I had insurance or not even though I paid and did all they asked of me. If I could give zero stars, I would. This company was my insurance provider starting 12/15/2024. On or about 2/3/2025 I received a cancellation notice dated 1/23/2025 as a result of a property inspector discovering some loose tiles on my roof. I battled cancer half of last year and didn't even know about the tiles. I immediately hired a contractor to perform a complete roof replacement. I advised SageSure that the roof was being replaced and provided the contract for service and requested a postponement of the cancellation. They refused. A week later when I received the city permit I forwarded it to show the steps that were being taken. SageSure refused to postpone the cancellation. My policy was cancelled on 2/27/2025. On 3/4/2025 it was reinstated after the work was completed and proof provided. On 3/14/2025 a "digital invoice" in the amount of $2,036.28 was uploaded to my account. SageSure forwarded it to my mortgage company wherein my impound account was charged the additional amount on top of the $1,836 I already paid. My agent attempted on three occasions to get answers as to why I was charged the additional $2,000+ with no luck. It has now been two months with no explanation and no refund. I cancelled the policy on 4/15/2025. But, in the meantime, my mortgage payment has increased almost $400 as a result of the new insurance charges. This company is the worst! I would leave a -10 or more review score if I could. We filed a claim with them on 5/19 for damage from a 5/16 tornado. They sent a field adjuster to assess the roof & property damage & he rescheduled with us several times and then last minute bumped up our appt because we were his last one & he wanted to leave to go back home, Then he was several hours late when he came on 5/25. He stated that he took over 120 pics that were submitted with his report. Him and the roofing company also stated that we had at least 85-90% roof damage. That damage includes a leak that we noticed when it rained a few days after the inspector was there. I sent them videos and pics of the waterfall going down the wall inside our house. It took until 7/15 to receive the estimate & claim letter. They are only offering $ 1390.88 to fix the roof. We then had a hurricane on 7/8. We had more leaks inside our home but they were in the areas where we had previously had multiple big limbs fall on it during the tornado in May. They are saying that we have to file a 2nd claim & pay a 2nd $9600 deductible for new storm damage. All of this while REFUSING to send us a copy of the first report from May or even looking at the roof again. We were told on 7/18 that a new field adjuster would be contacting us within in 24-28 hours and we have not heard anything. We also have not received the 1st check that shows as processed on 7/15 and they also show our claim as closed even though no money has been received, no repairs can be done & they are suppose to re-assess the roof. The office adjuster, Andrew Turner that was assigned to our claim openly admitted to never doing a claim as an office adjuster. He does not answer his phone when you call him & his voicemail is always full so you can never leave a message. Then you are stuck with trying to online chat, reach out to their call center or send an email to a "case" email address. We have had to reach out to his boss, James Hales but now he is no longer answering. He stopped contact since 7/17. read more
