I originally gave a positive review because my agent, Aristos, seemed helpful. But after signing up, State Farm raised my agreed rate. I was quoted $102/month with discounts for completing a defensive driving course ( paid $60 and sat through a grueling course for 6 hours) , signed up for the safe driving app ( tracks driving) and wrote two positive reviews . Later, they increased it to $168, claiming the underwriter found "points," even though I took the course to have that cleared. When I asked for written documentation showing how the premium was calculated, they refused. I wrote to Jon Farney , President and Chief Executive Officer of State Farm and received a letter back from Alan Wheeler which doubled down on his bait-and-switch . Would not recommend...waste of time. read more

Here is what I have come away with after three years with the wheeler agency: 1. Alan Wheeler is a fictional persona. He doesn't exist. He is a stock photo. 2. State Farm's prices are about 1.5 to 2x as expensive as GEICO 3. Alan Wheeler's prices are 1.5x more expensive than what you can get on the State Farm website. 4. Maybe this is all state farm agencies, but they are an independent company that sells State Farm insurance, and I would guess they make a profit on every dollar they can put on top of the basic prices. Their e-mails aren't @statefarm.com, they are @wheeleragency.com The whole thing has been borderline creepy, sketchy, unprofessional, and expensive. I give two stars because as far as I know (I never filed a claim) I did actually get insurance. read more

Terrible! I've never experienced such terrible customer service. I moved 5 months ago and have called multiple times to request the address to be updated on my policy. It was never done. I have now requested 3 times for my policy to be cancelled and still no one does what I ask. The only time you'll hear from this office is when they want to get paid. Then all different people will call and email you aggressively. Just don't expect a response if you email them back. read more

I am having a terrible time with the Alan Wheeler Agency. I've had home owner's insurance with them for five years, and recently wanted to add coverage of my engagement ring. From the beginning I found the employees disorganized and discourteous. I called to find out if they had received the appraisal, and they said they had. But after waiting for days to find out what was going on, I called again and it turned out they did not receive my letter and appraisal, stating they had me mixed up with someone else of the same first name. Attention to detail is rather important, as is prompt and friendly service- if you'd like these things to be a part of your experience, I would not choose this insurance company. Two months later I still haven't gotten them to cover the ring. Time for a better insurance company. read more

I've been working with Alan Wheeler's office for several years now. The professional way that I've been treated is the best. I've always had homeowners insurance with them. When I found Alan Wheeler's office I was looking for another company because of the way I was treated by a different Statefarm office. They explained to me that what was being done to me by the other office was not Statefarm policy and took such good care that I moved all of my business to Alan Wheeler's office. Not only do you get excellent service and explanation of Statefarm policies, but you get helpful suggestions to lower your payments and increase coverage. The best part is the lovely attitude everyone has when you call or walk in. Yesterday I called and got the sweetest woman on the phone. Her name is Gio D'Alessio. There was a problem with my auto insurance payment and I called there ready to argue. No argument. My fault for not reading my e-mail properly and she was so sweet about it.
