Very friendly service & good atmosphere as well as views. Excellent choice of seafood on both entree & main menus. Tasted great!

Atmosphere- very casual dinning even to the point you can order at the counter. Service- I can't say a bad word other then the meals did take a fair bit of time (we did have a group of 8 so it's hard to complain too much. Food- the menu reads amazingly, everything sounded so good to the point I really struggled to make a discussion. I ended up going for the oysters (natural) for a starter. They where, understandably some of the best I've ever tasted thanks to coffin bay being so close by. ($24) For a main I ordered the tuna ($32). The flavors where ok and I would have been satisfied however the meal was stone cold. I was going to say something but after a quick ask around the table it seemed like a common problem so we just ate and got out of there. For the record there was a mix of dishes on our table ranging from pizza to steak but nothing out of the ordinary to justify cold meals. (I will also day the whole place was fairly busy) It's won a heap of local awards and the prices are very high,. It doesn't live up to its hype and I think someone else needs to open something really nice and give it a run for its money. ****FYI, I also heard the coffee was nice so we went back the next morning for some takeaways. The taste wasn't the worst I've had but the length it took became pretty laughable****

We ate here, and didn't realize the head chef was on vacation--HUGE MISTAKE. My parents ordered the $40 seafood sampler and when it came to the table it stank to high heaven. I refused to eat any of it because it was clearly old fish and NOT fresh. It remains to be seen if my parents will get sick. We also ordered tuna ceviche, which turned out to be raw tuna, no lemon or lime juice marinade. It came with 10 stale corn chips. I ordered fish and chips, thinking "Who fucks up fish and chips?" Well, this restaurant does. The fish was far undercooked and absolutely inedible, as the batter was gooey and gross. My parents got the crumbed version, which was cooked slightly more. Husband got the schnitzel, which was supposed to come with a Parmesan sauce, but instead just had a hunk of bland melted cheese on it. I did inform the manager and they refunded the cost of my fish and chips. I would say definitely ask if the chef is in town, because whoever cooks in his/her absence is a person who gives zero shits about the food they cook and serve. Beyond disappointing, it was downright disgusting. Just the smell from the seafood appetizer was enough to put you off from eating anything else. I'm not sure who is reviewing this restaurant as a 4-5 star place, but if the head chef is that good, they they should make sure when they leave there is at least a competent cook to take over. Whoever cooked our meal isn't qualified to boil water. Stay away, I recommend, it would be better to try the several fast food joints, because at least there you know what you will get. The service was lacking as well. While we were the only table eating as it was early, we had to get up and ask for everything. If I were the head chef of this restaurant, I would be absolutely humiliated by the meal we had tonight.

All of the other types of oysters, that are on the menu are good to go. I think Monday's and Wednesday's are when stock comes in from the bay. Can really tell that there out of the ocean, that day or next as of the look of the oyster and the taste. Had more then 4 dozen within the 24hours, not a problem at all. No limit at all, eat as many as you want no side effects
