We built with Saint Aubyn in 2014. Immediately our floors were a problem. Since it was covered by the builders warrantee, it was repaired but shortly there after we came to the realization that it's just POOR MATERIAL! Within a year the molding began to fall apart. Every one of the GE appliance have had to be repaired AND replaced. We haven't even lived here 5 years yet and THIS HOUSE IS FALLING APART! We are having to replace the wood flooring. We had to replace the water heater. We had to buy a new dishwasher. I only mention the appliances because we felt stuck buying GE appliances because thats what Saint Aubyn gave us an allotment for. Our neighbors are all having issues as well. In our neighbor alone they have had issues with their decks, sup-pump and also the very issues we have had. I would also like to point out that I used nothing but the products recommended. And this was normal where and tear in the household of GRANDPARENTS! Heart broken that purchasing my first home has been such a terrible experience. Close date pushed out, get to move in date finally and the house is a construction zone. They promised they would come back Monday morning and have not showed or called. There are nails, dirt, half finished projects throughout. Garbage disposal, hand rails, floors scratched and paint splatter because they didn't cover the floors during construction. Stained carpet in bedroom. I can go on and on. They even heated food up in my new appliances and left me the mess, see pic. I've waited my entire life for this moment. I just can't understand this level of disrespect and disregard. Purchased home in August 2018. I regret this purchase. The quality of the home is disappointing. Drawer fronts come off, engineered hardwood splinters and flakes. Bowed walls, windows and doors do not close. The warranty department is a joke. The items that were to be taken care of prior to close, never were fixed. I see someone else has reported landscaping issues. I have been dealing with a lawn fungus the last 3 years. Lawn disease occurs when the root system is not healthy. I was informed by a neighbor that our two lots were a dumping ground and sure enough I have been digging up constant chunks of concrete out of the year while trying to reseed. Shovel goes in about 2-3 inches and clunk! Disgusting quality. Maybe a landscaping firm is more at fault, but accountability starts at the top and their decisions on who they contract. Also dealing with poor wiring that pops fuses in my fuse box. Temporary fix is taping off certain light switches from being flipped. read more

This is an amazing builder and I am beyond over the moon about the house we bought and the entire process! This was our first home purchase, and we were not very savvy on the process. Paul Cerniauskas showed us floor plans and was super excited to help us find our home! He helped us with everything and kept us in the loop of all the processes etc that had to be done. Mark made the buying process from the builder easy, with buyer incentives and military friendly. I bought a St Aubyn built home from the original owner. The construction and layout of the house are excellent. It has the usual builder grade issues: low quality hot water tank, low efficiency heat pump, etc. I expected this. I did not expect the Vivint security system that came with the house to be so horrible. Of course I don't need a security system in a low crime neighborhood. But after a few months, I activated it with a month to month agreement. Each addition to the system required a call to Vivint and a fee, usually about $50. The fee to connect the overhead garage door opener to Vivint was too expensive. I actually don't want monitoring and so after many attempts to get Vivint to stop calling aboout random things, I decided to cancel the service. Yesterday was my third attempt to cancel the Vivnt system in three months. The first one didn't take, they claimed I didn't do something correctly, which was untrue. The second attempt seemed too have gone through and I received confirmation the system was cancelled. However, I received a bill and a notice from my bank that Vivint attempted too charge on my credit card, where they are blocked. I spoke with the Vivint Cancellation Department at length. According to the person I was talking to: 1) she has no supervisor, 2) she doesn't know the company's registered agent in Colorado, 3) she could not change anything with respect to my account, ... there are many issues with their cancellation department. My problem seems to be similar to the multimillion dollar lawsuit the FTC brought and won against Vivint where Vivint was changing the terms of contracts. My agreement is for month-to-month service. Vivint changed it to annual service, and no one in the cancellation department can correct it. St Aubyn, now Tralon Homes, should have vetted the Vivint system prior to installing it in the homes it built. I would have given St. Aubyn a 4 or 5 rating, but the Vivint system has been such a nightmare that the rating is much lower. read more

Then our back porch sunk and all they did was to take it out and we had to pay to put in a new patio. Now our front porch has sunk about 6-12 inches and they have refused to do anything. There is no rebar under the porch and was very poorly constructed. I am very disappointed in the quality of the work. I would advise anyone to not buy a St. Aubyn home! Please save your money and time and DO NOT BUY a St. Aubyn Home. First of all Jared St. Aubyn is very young and hasn't been doing this long enough. He majored in finance along with his wife. That should tell you something there. His wife is the Co-director of a non-profit "One Love". That is not a coincidence - Finance majors (not builders) and non-profit in his wife's name. Everyone in my neighborhood is frantic and wants to sell their barely used houses as soon as possible.... before things get too bad and they can't sell. Also, when you have a meeting to get under contract, don't believe anything they say. That was my mistake. I specifically asked about the bad reviews, BBB complaints, BBB Reviews and they lied to my face. They'll say, all of the bad reviews are from one person, they tell you stories of how well they warrant their homes. I'm telling you, it's a lie. They told me that this "old man" in my neighborhood couldn't get his AC to work and it was the middle of the night and the warranty came out and said "it was turned on". So they make it sound like they'll come out even for an old man and to turn his AC on after hours. Well I happened to have that "old man" as my neighbor, and he's not so old, and that story she fed me is a COMPLETE LIE and purposely misleading. The AC unit wasn't hooked up at all and missing cords and wiring outside, it wasn't "turned off" and this light hearted laughing matter. And the "old man" had to fight them to come out, it wasn't an easy okay we're on our way since we know your house is 87 degrees. St Aubyn is known for not compacting the dirt enough during step one of building a home. This causes thousands of MAJOR issues (not mentioning all of the minor issues we've just considered a loss). They blame the excavators... Almost all of our issues haven't been their problem, and they aren't the Sub-contractors problem.. so we are just left will all of the problems. Another issue - When you purchase a new house from saint Aubyn, they hand you 1 soil report. That's 1 of 3 that have been done on your lot. The soil report shows the recommended foundation for your home based on the soil in your lot. They did not follow the recommendations for my house. This can cause major issues with settlement and damaging your home. This also can cause major issues when selling your home. I've spoken with all three engineering companies who reported on my lot and the first two said my house should be on drilled piers, which it's not, and the third engineering company is in trouble because they formed their report with negligence. Basically St. Aubyn's warranty is summed up to - "If our sub-contractors want to take the blame and fix it, then it falls within the warranty guarantee. If our sub-contractors don't want to take the blame, then it's not St. Aubyn's problem and doesn't meet the warranty guidelines." read more

They have been so accommodating, helpful and so honest and forthright with the entire transaction. We bought our home after seeing it within the hour! I had an inspector examine the home and found very minor issues. Mark Elwell took care of everything and we made a few modifications long distance from Florida. He was very easy to work with and the modifications (eg: gas line to patio/back yard for BBQ)were done in an affordable and timely manner. We bought a SA home in the Springs and St Aubyn has met every deadline and responded quickly to every request for warranty fixes. We too had purchased a home without a fence but found the neighbors willing to work with us on a mutual fence line. One note, before we were able to landscape some serious erosion took place, our recommendation would be for St Aubyn to install pipe drains off the down spouts to prevent this where it was necessary. Particular thanks go to Matt and Aubri but there have been several others that have worked on resolving issues. We chose the Cascade model, it's a ranch home, 3527sq ft. 4/3, large basement, and separate dining area. We really like the layout and the amenities. read more

Our Saint Aubyn home was built in 2017 and we have had nothing but issues. For one thing, we have been waiting over a month for the manager to call us back and nothing. I have asked time and time again for his name and number while only getting that they will have him call us. Crickets We have had major settling issues and our front patio is getting ready to cave in. Our driveway is several inches away from the garage floor and this is a known issue in our neighborhood because they didn't pack down the dirt enough and were in too much of a hurry to build. All of our neighbors have had issues but of course they have denied our claims because it is out of warranty. They had mud jackers come out and fix the area right in front of the porch a few years back due to the same issue but that was just a bandage so they could get past the year mark and put it back on us. We had a huge sink hole under our AC unit and they try to blame it on our landscaping. Also, we had our ventilation ducts cleaned before we moved in and the cleaning company let us know that one of our rooms duct work was missing. Saint Aubyn came out to fix and did such a poor job that now we can't even open the vent. Our master bedroom and bathroom's texture work looks like it was done by me which is not a complement. We decided to get our front yard landscaping done on our own and the builder literally pocketed the $3-$4000 allowance that was supposed to go to their landscaping company who was then going to give to my landscaping company rather than us taring down what they were going to do and waste everyone's time and energy. I have been in my new home for 5 months, and I still have several *easy* warranty items that have not been corrected. They kindly offer their assistance and schedule your appointments, but then no one shows up, and no one answers the phone when you call to get an update. Eventually you will get a call back to re-schedule (minimum 2-weeks out), but then the process just repeats again. Just keeps dragging on and on... The location of this Saint Aubyn Homes development is what initially brought us to The Ridge at Harmony in Windsor, CO. Not too far and close enough for us.. We walked through all the builders here and found that Saint Aubyn Homes in our opinion gave us the biggest bang for home buying dollar! Saint Aubyn's Lance Woltemath who became our sales agent for Saint Aubyn was very informative, no pressure sales and after listening to our wants and needs in a brand new home, recommended what we believe is the perfect fit floor plan and lot location in the development. It was a 5 month wait as we watched our home being built from a dirt lot to a beautiful 5 Bedroom 3 Bath Rancher with full finished basement! We had a few concerns throughout the process and each that we communicated to Saint Aubyn Homes were met with a reactive and detailed response to our satisfaction. Saint Aubyn Homes worked very hard to accommodate our request to accelerate the build process due to an early sale of our existing home. The weather cooperated and Saint Aubyn's pushed to bring us our new home much sooner than originally expected. During the walk thru prior to closing on our new Everest Saint Aubyn Home, we met with Zak Stewart, Assistant Superintendent to inspect our home. We found a number of what we thought were substantial issues but in 5 days time, Saint Aubyn's Zak Stewart and the entire Saint Aubyn Home's team corrected 95% of them and met the deadline for us to move in. There remains only a couple of minor cosmetic repairs. After having been in our new Saint Aubyn Home now for a week of some pretty cold temperatures, (-7 degrees) our home was warm and comfortable. I purchased a brand new home in May 2018, had to deal with so many little issues after closing, but only 2 years later the concrete on the driveway is completely disintegrating. Not even spalding this is worst! I never applied any products to it during the winter to melt the snow as it is facing West, so the snow always melted on its own. They came to take a look and said, oh it's because you parked your car on the driveway and some of the chemicals they use on the roads dripped on the concrete. This argument is totally invalid because there was a boat parked there the whole winter! I did my research and the main cause is bad installation. (They either didn't vibrate the concrete or they applied too much water). Now they expect me to replace the driveway on my own! If you are a new buyer, I would suggest to go somewhere else. So, I'm going to list all the pro's about what i liked before i went through the process of buying and living in my neighborhood with this company. Pro's *The military discounts or the savings they offer are pretty good. *Some of the appliances in the home are very beautiful like the wood flooring, granite counter tops and the dark wood cabinets, but it depends on what make and model you purchase as well. I don't know if every house has those offer's, but the one i purchased did. *The option of installing an A/C is great because it does get hot and there are some pretty bad days where humidity gets the best of a person. *Big open windows *lighted showers! Con's *No show at closing to finish a business deal with a seal of good faith. It's a huge purchase and that's a huge paycheck, you should always show up and make sure there aren't last minute questions or things that were supposed to be handled at the home before we moved in. *Taking the lock box off the door, making sure the windows didn't have air flow, making sure that the back door actually closed when shut. Double checking the stair case and how the metal rods were installed. We were walking down the stairs the night we moved in and the rods in the stair case fell out in to the bottom part of the stairs leaving about 6 inches of the top part of the rod exposed. They had plenty of time before we moved in to double check the work and prepare the home, but it wasn't actually done until we closed. That was simple stuff we fixed easily and with a few dollars here and there. *Warranty department caused so many issues for scheduled appointments, and never did a fraction of the repairs they were asked to do before we moved in and after we moved in. They had to redo our back yard because it wasn't draining properly and that took months with headaches, and lots of no shows for the job. It was a huge disappointment because we wanted to show off our new home and couldn't because the yard wasn't properly draining and it smelled awful. *The rocks slide away from the home when going through the side gate to gain access to the back yard. Which is dangerous because it's not laid right on the ground to begin with. I don't understand why they didn't build the cement around the area to being with. It would save time, money and hassle for the home owner and builder. *The fence is thin, warped, broken, put up unevenly. I tried so many times to get this taken care of and it was never taken care of and it got to the point that i had to ask friends to help me with my fence because the warranty department always seems to have "no shows" or people that just don't want to do the work, in my opinion & experience with this home. * For the amount of these homes they should already come with a garage door that leads to the backyard. I've never seen a home where you had to get that installed because it's considered an option when buying the homes. So, if you want a door in your garage, you might not have one or you'll have to purchase one depending on your location in town. * The homes are so close together and that is a little unsettling considering the noise and the natural disasters of mother nature. If you like space, it's going to be cramped. *The parking is a little overwhelming as well. The garage is very tight. It's hard to get in and out of the garage when pulling your vehicle inside. *We never got our bushes installed in the back yard that we were told we would get but we also don't know where the landscape drainage for the bushes are because they never installed it. We found out by the other residents when they had theirs installed. After looking in to the contract, sure enough we were supposed to get so many bushes and never did, so now we need to figure out where the other area's in our yard are located to plant our own bushes. * It was overwhelming because what should've been an easy move in was not. Drive way replaced in first months, front porch was out of alingment so bad they were going to tear up the whole front of the house to repair, they worked on it three times and then let me know thats the quality you can expect in a high volume home and its pretty close. Front door has been worked on three times was totally replaced and is still not able to close right solution is to tear out the front of the house or live with it. I purchased a St Aubyn home in Colorado Springs. Got the Cascade model (presidential series) So far they have done a great job in getting the punch list done. They replaced garage floor due to several large cracks end to end. Done in a week. It was done improperly the first 2 times. They have ordered a new kitchen cabinet door on July 10. Should take two weeks to get. They also replaced a closet door in a week to due manufacture defects. So far everything has been taken care of properly and in a good time frame. They are there today still finishing punch list. Still need to replace a carpet section due to dirt stains from careless contractors. Who the hell puts in carpet 5 months before completion!!! No work boots should be worn on new carpet!!!! At least put down a drop cloth!! That is my only complaint. read more

I bought and closed on a brand new home December 23rd ! I noticed cracks in driveway and deep scratches as well and pointed out before closing ! I then closed and saw scratches on countertop shingles not laying down ! I left for a job across the country ten days after close but Nicki their woman who gives all the right answers tells me they will correct the countertop and the shingles are because of the weather too cold to lay down ! I then come back two months later and a warranty guy shows up and it's a completely different story ! Countertop is impossible to replace and concrete was laid in the winter months ! They ran out of concrete and compensated by mixing it with water creating sludge or the worst concrete job I've ever seen ! I got a ladder and went to one section of the roof and there were several shingles that anyone with an ethical conscious would've thrown them out but they installed Them anyway ! I can't believe I trusted this company to build my home and put down everything I've ever worked for ! This was a rush hurry up get her done take my money and forget about you when the shoddy work is revealed ! Everyday I'm upset about the poor quality in the workmanship of the roof and driveway ! Could not be more disappointed and how cheaply and unprofessional these homes are made bough my home in 2017 the one year warranty they offer complete crap they fixed less than 20% of the issues that were addressed. My front door doesn't close right after having serval people "fix it " there is still a gap. Not only that but the door isn't even straight. My master bathroom had a leak with in the 1st week took them over 3 months to have someone fix it non of the tile is even. Even my carpet was never installed right. Saint Aubyn Homes is currently building 4 houses across the street from us. They constantly overfill their dumpsters and when the wind blows, it goes in our front and back yards and the empty field next to our house. Behind our house is a field where cows and turkeys live and roam. The trash has piled up at the fence between our properties and the field and trash constantly blows over the fence. On several occasions we have seen - and taken video of - cows eating the trash that blows over the fence. I walked into the Sales Office for Saint Aubyn in our neighborhood last Tuesday, 04/24/18. I voiced my complaint, and the sales person, Al Garcia, was quite dismissive of my complaints. When I told him about the cows eating their trash, his response was "But ma'am, the cows don't belong to us." I said, "no, but the trash that they're eating does!". He simply shrugged his shoulders, gave excuses as to why their trash blows around our neighborhood, and told me I'd have to call the Corporate office in Windsor, CO. Within 5 minutes I contacted Stephanie at the Saint Aubyn Corporate office. She told me she already knew what my complaint was. I told her I wanted her to hear it from me, so I reiterated my concerns. I expressed my concerns about the cows eating Saint Aubyn's trash, as well as the soiled toilet paper that blows into our yard from their porta-john's. She did not seem concerned in the least and stated that she was "sending an email" about the situation. I asked when I could receive follow-up from her. She acted like I was speaking a foreign language. I said I would like a phone call to let me know how they were going to resolve the situation. She then took down my name and phone number (or at least pretended to) and I have not heard a word since then. I want Saint Aubyn to take responsibility for trashing our environment and for providing the local animals with trash to eat! This may be the worst home manufacturer in Colorado. Just about every resident at Heritage Ridge has had a less than spectacular experience. I literally was in a shouting match 15 minutes ago with Ron the builders warranty rep. Their unwillingness to fix the issues uncovered by an independent inspector has me preparing to meet with an attorney. They consistently pass the buck on issues they claim are not their problem. Saint Aubyn is a wonderful builder and i love my home in northern colorado, however with having a new build comes with many pains for the first year and getting these remedied is the biggest hassle, majority of fixes are easily done through the amazing contractors they do have. But they hired the worst Landscaper i have ever seen in the world, LMX has been a pain to work with and Saint aubyn lets him do his own thing. I have a corner lot and constantly is used by the landscaper(LMX) and builder(saint aubyn) as a dump zone or trash site, as a result the local developer(heritage ridge HOA) has implied fines to me for not keeping this area well kept. The house is very beautiful but as far as warranty work being done and the landscaper they hired, i would say for what i have paid i have made a mistake with going with this builder, i know they can do better as the used another landscaper in the hammond farm development which is less than 10 minutes away and by far the superior landscaper which would match the work they do on the homes, but however they took a shortcut and it shows. read more

It is clear that this builder only cares about short term gain. The construction was a rush job. During the walk through Larry complained about all the closings they had and used that as their excuse as to why things weren't getting done and why they were so sloppy. They didn't offer a pre-drywall inspection. I can't even imagine what that would have unveiled. The workers stuffed construction garbage wherever they could and it almost filled up half a garbage bag from just what they left under the garage stairs. I am fighting to have the builder follow through on what was agreed to in the contract, now 7 weeks after closing. They are having issues with the landscapers they hired and they are trying to push off the responsibility and blatantly lying. The sod was poorly laid, they never finished putting rock in the back that was promised before closing, and the sprinkler system has been an ongoing issue causing the new sod to die. Their warranty people are beyond incompetent. I submitted 5+ warranty issues and Sharon hasn't followed through on anything. She has made many promises, one of which she has fulfilled so far which was getting clips for shelves in the cabinets. She made clear today that she had no intention of following through on what she said and even claimed that she didn't promise things that she had promised, such as a window well cover. I don't even think she has any authority to make the promises she made, but is poorly trained and lacks integrity. Darren is moderately better, but has yet to prove he is willing to stand behind their work and gets his pecking orders from Brian Coulter. Steve Balliet was offended that I said his company lacked integrity and lied, but that is exactly my experience. Maybe some of this comes with the territory, but this is not the standard I hold myself to in business. I would likely not buy from this builder again and if I had read the recent reviews prior to sitting in their sales office, I likely would not have bought from them. From other reviews, it seems there may be issues later on down the line that the builder won't stand behind, as described in multiple reviews. It is not surprising to hear this considering my experience over the first 7 weeks of owning this home. Sadly enough, their sales office even lied about not knowing if someone was building behind my house. Upon speaking with another owner who bought around the same time as me, they were very aware that houses were going up to the west of our development, they just weren't theirs. UPDATE: I had updated my review to two stars because I think their houses are an okay value, but after getting a call from Brian Coulter, their head of construction, I am moving it back to a one star. These guys are criminals in my honest opinion. Brian even went on to say something to the effect that people threaten to sue him everyday. That really told me something about how he does business and how Jared St Aubyn runs his company. I have had to yell at them and threaten suing and exposing them just to get any action on their side. I have never experienced such poor service and so many broken promises and it doesn't feel good to have to treat people the way I have had to lately just to get them to do what they are legally and ethically responsible for. Fortunately my phone records every phone call so I have every call I have ever made with an employee of St Aubyn saved. I have them saying that multiple sprinkler boxes were tampered with and they think it might be the landscaper they fired, yet Brian Coulter denies this and won't replace my dead sod. He said Darren just got on the job site 1 day before we Brian and I spoke, but I have a recording proving it was 6-7 days before. I have also saved all of my texts with them. According to other reviewers they may use this review against me. I don't think they realize what I will do to them in court and with every major media source in every market they serve if they try that. Note that this review is based on my experience and opinions in dealing with employees of St Aubyn. UPDATE12/16/17: I am updating my review because they did finally correct all of the issues without me having to sue. I will update to four stars after I see how St Aubyn treats us into the future when other issues arise and if there are any issues with what has already been corrected. read more

It's been over a year and our home is out of warranty, with that being said that didn't even matter. I made a call to Jason in regards to some real minor issues just to see what were the chances of getting those items fixed. Not only did they come out and fix them at no charge, they did it all within a week. Special shoutout to Tim and Luke, they both stopped by just to make it everything was taken care to my liking. Totally IMPRESSED!! If anyone is in the market for a new home you can't go wrong with St Aubyn. Going on two years strong and can't complain.. read more

I bought my home 2 years ago and we've had nothing but issues. The siding is lose. When the wind blows it drives us crazy. The sprinkler system has been an issue since day one. The walls aren't straight and it drives me crazy, but they won't fix it because it's not 10%. They put the sump access right at the electrical panel. Their solution, but a Wood board over the hole which cause another safety concern. Out tiles aren't even so I end up stunning my toe on it. Walls cracking. We are about to buy that silicone stuff in between the wall and the counter top for the 3rd time. This list goes on. Most neighbors on Next door are constantly complaining as well. And my issue seem minor to theirs. read more

We moved into our new Saint Aubyn home ona May 19, 2017. During construction I came by periodically to check progress and noticed the floors took heavy damage from the contractors, but was assured by the foreman the touch up team was phenomenal and I would never know there was damage. One time walking through I saw a large patch in the basement ceiling below where the kitchen island was located but Saint Aubyn claimed ignorance as to what happened. Let me also point out it is just me and my husband, we dont wear shoes in the house and we had one medium sized dog that is mellow and doesnt run around in the house. I mop once a month, with a well rung mop and a weak dish soap water (as recommended by the manufacturer) because we just dont make messes. By June I noticed the pre-manufactured hardwood flooring they put in looked wierd. By July the dark brown finish had very obviously started peeling. After numerous calls and a couple visits by the builder and the flooring contractor I was told it was due to water damage and traffic from the dog and wouldn't be covered by the 1 year warranty. The few marks I could find from my dog were not in areas that were peeling. In fact the floor is peeling under the couches where no one walks. I persisted because I had only mopped a few times by that point and reminded them that they clearly had a water related incident with the kitchen island sink as evidenced by the patch in the ceiling downstairs. After much persistence and many months the builder then got an independent inspector to come out who also found the damage to likely be related to water. The finish would peel off if I only stick a piece of painter's tape to it and pulled it off. Two years in I am still waiting for the manager from saint aubyn to contact me and resolve the issue. They took care of very minor issues I had during the 1 year warranty offered but the big issue where you would hope they stand behind their materials, installers and quality, Saint Aubyn has ignored me and refused to remedy the problem. Extremely disappointed to say the least as their commercials paint such a hometown neighborly high quality picture in your mind. The product is not that but instead low quality materials, poor contractors and unanswered problems. read more

This new house is a fixer upper. St Aubyn's mission statement states they build a quality home. Don't be fooled. We are so disappointed & sad. The workmanship is so bad & shoddy , even the "warranty " people were shocked. Choose another builder. You'll be sorry if you buy a home from them. read more
