The church has a solid biblical doctrine, everyone who attends is very nice, every time I step into this church for worship or for a church event if I can make it, I immediately feel better and I feel at home with my fellow believers. I can spend the whole day here if it's a weekend I don't have my son or if I don't have to go to work. I'm actually stopping my Sunday work in Mid June so I can devote my Sundays to the lord and to my son on weekends. Sunday school starts at 9:30 AM but I haven't been in Sunday school because I'm taking the baptism class and going for church membership. There is an 11 AM service. On the first of the month there is a fellowship luncheon followed by a second service after the luncheon. The rest of the Sundays in the month there is a 5 PM service after the 11 AM service. So there are options available if you can't be in church the whole day. The pastors are solid with their message when they present sermons. In my opinion this is the place to be on a Sunday and I will spend as much time here as I possibly can!

My family has been coming to Christ Alive for over a month now. This is our new home church and we…read morelove it. Pastor Cristi and Bob are terrific and both very strong in Christ and wonderful people. The worship team is outstanding and lead terrific worship every week. there is an active childrens ministry with great teachers and my kids have learned and retained more about the bible in the past month than they did the past three years. There is 1 Wednesday a month at night where they have worship and prayer and 3 other where there is teaching almost like a bible study. While not as attended like a Sunday, these are wonderful in helping you keep Christ focused during the week and spending extra time with church family. The church also has small groups, called Life groups, which change about quarterly and offered both at the church and at people's homes depending on the group. The church also holds food drives and has a 1 Saturday a month Food Pantry to feed the needy, doing Christ work in the community is a big part of the identity here. I love it. No better church in the area. People of all races and nationalities are welcome and the church is very diverse.

cult. makes students work to upkeep the campus/runs the "safety" and not allowed to do basically…read moreanything or get a D point. didn't unpack one box two days after moving into a sardine container with there roommates? d point. didnt check off that you swept the bathroom even though it is clear you did and they saw you smmm do it? d point. etc etc. scheduled quiet time with god sitting at desk at 6 am after working and studying until 10. quiet time doesn't look the same for everyone- praise could be a walk by the lake or singing praises but thus cult tells you how. forced labor to run camps. they get kids from other countries in bad situations like drugs and gangs and try to indoctrinate/save them but it ends up putting others at risk like one kid holding a knife to another kid's throat. and they kept that kid on campus! walk with a person of the opposite gender without a chaperone on campus? d point. wear the wrong shoes on the gym floor? d point. plus the tests are all online and they don't load easily and they are timed so by the time you get the wheel to stop turning (on your own laptop bc school doesn't provide it and this was a brand new MacBook) the test time is over. so you have to schedule a make up session but still study for new tests that are upcoming while studying again for the poor wifi test. this compounded with severe lack of sleep from long required volunteer hours. oh and one choice of food and it is made by kids and all washing of dishes are done by kids. everything is mushed together so allergies or don't like something? oh well. take a sandwich out of the cafeteria so you can study by the lake or in your room? d point. run! don't walk. away. far away from this cult that seeks to use young people as forced laborers. this is not done to serve and glorify god, but rather for their own ponzi scheme.

Kindle of Calvary Baptist Church has broken the mold and shattered my negative image of black preachers. Besides being relatively young, he's approachable, funny, and contemporary in his teachings. He doesn't breath fire and brimstone choosing instead to incorporate appropriate colorful language and fad without alienating the old and making the young squeamish. There hasn't been a time I haven't left church services without a smile and this is during football season I'm primarily talking about which either means both NY teams are horrible (yes they are) or I really do enjoy attending Calvary (yes, I do) Thank the Lord for Sportscenter...and Calvary Baptist Church.
