Night to Shine is an unforgettable worldwide celebration event, centered on God's love, honoring and valuing people with special needs... until all are celebrated! Once again, we came together as a community to celebrate Night to Shine event on February 6th. I had the honored to be part of this amazing event. During the night we were running low on materials, by the grace of God miraculously we had exactly what we needed to make 95 corsages and boutonnières. All 35 corsages and 65 boutonnières were made in 3. 5 hours. The volunteers are amazing with no previous experience at all. I am always amazed how much love, care and humankind these volunteers give unconditionally.

My family was not a regular church going group before we found this church. The same Angie that the lady referred to below, welcomed us with open arms and encouraged us to participate in the activities. Our kids have been going here for close to 4 years and we are happy to have found a friendly church community. Sadly Angie is no longer at BFUMC but it is still a welcoming and fun church. Our Church is members of the Family Promise, where churches house homeless families for a week. We have a yearly Vacation Bible School in the summer. There is a kids choir and amazing adult choir. There is also classes for yoga, dancing and singing. These are just to name a few of activities. I know we have many special needs members and a few special needs kids that participate in church activities, so I find it hard to believe that Angie would have purposely excluded a child for this reason. There is a nursery and Sunday school for kids below 5th grade to participate in during church services. There is also youth group with an energetic leader for the older kids. If you are looking for a friendly church please check us out. We also have a nice fellowship hour after services that you are welcome to enjoy.

Everyone at St. Anne is so welcoming. There's always an opportunity to serve the church and get to know people. I've met some of my closest friends here. There are also plenty of social events and groups to attend. My favorite is the annual festival! The candles burning and choir singing brings me so much nostalgia every Sunday morning! I try to never miss a Sunday, but when I do, people ask about me. It makes me feel so comforted knowing that my brothers and sisters in Christ care about me. I love this place with all my heart.

They have 2 masses. One at 9:30am in English, and the other one at 11:30am in English and Arabic. I went to the 9:30 one. This is where I am kind of confused. This church is a Greek Catholic church. Why is the sermon at 11:30 done in Arabic? I don't understand. When I walked in, I was 3 minutes late and one of the pastors gave me a side eye. Strike one. No greeting from anyone, no program to hand out. So I went and sat down in one of their pews. Bishop Francois Beruti, was filling in for pastor Dimitri. (I don't even know who Dimitri is). Bishop Beruti gave an excellent sermon!! People are NOT friendly at all. No one talked to me, nothing. The choir was on the balcony. So out of tune. My ears were tired of listening to them. There were absolutely no good vibes nor energy at this church. The pews had no Bibles behind the seats, and whatever else was there, was so unorganized. Like envelopes, pamphlets, small prayer books. The area that you light candles was SO narrow, and didn't have enough candles for people to light. I don't know if many of you are familiar with liturgical incense.. was way tooooo strong that made me feel like gagging, and the scent was too overpowering. Everyone was so pretentious. There was barely about 45 people there and the duration of the mass was 1.5 hours -- TOO LONG! When it was time for accepting the Eucharist, the bread which represents Jesus's body was so STALE. At least 2 months old dipped in wine. The architecture of the building from inside and outside was STUNNING!!! Let me not forget to tell you that this rude man came behind me while I was taking photos, and told me to do that once the mass was over. I wasn't bothering, nor was I interrupting him, others or the mass. He even scared me, the way he came behind me. Later, they had refreshments in the hall where they hold events. It was so small, half eaten. Took one glance at it, and walked away. Plenty of parking spaces, clean restroom. One for women, and one for men. They do baptisms, weddings, and funerals. As soon as the mass finished, they immediately blew all the candles, closed the curtains and gave us a look to get out. It was like an obligation for them to go through with this mass and service.. Safe to say, I will not go to this church again. There are plenty of churches around me that I can hear God's voice and power of the Holy Spirit..
