Great to see pictures of St Leo's. It has not changed since I was baptised in 1949.
My grandmother lived 2 blocks away. My brother, cousin, and I would play on the steps at age 7-8-10, and run home to my grandmothers for something to eat. In the early 50's the neighborhood was a safe playground protected by Italian men who lived in the neighborhood. An ideal place to have spent my early days as a kid..
If visiting over the weekend, we would walk on Sundays to attend mass, then home for breakfast.
Perhaps, someday, I could return for another Sunday Mass. read more
