A decent mall, a decent size but it has seen better days. With so many stores moving toward online business or being unable to compete with online ordering, there's not as mall culture here. You'll have more boutique and locally owned businesses, or the big Dillards, Sephora. They are building a Dick's Sporting Goods here and a ramen place! And I think this is the only place that has Cheesecake Factory, Savage by Fenty, and Lush. So, it's not bad! We've come here often enough that it's better than the malls closest to us and the outlet, imho. There's plenty of parking, but because of the construction, you'll want to park in certain areas. read more

Saint Louis Galleria gets sadder and sadder each time I shop. When I come, I am always shocked with stores that have opened and closed. The variety of stores seem to be getting lower and poorer. The Galleria use to advertise, "Where the Best Stores put their Best Stores". Now when I stroll the mall, I'm lucky if I see a familiar branded store. I basically only come for two stores now. I shop the Apple Store, which I am surprised is still located in the mall. I would have expected them to depart to a strip center somewhere else in the metro area. The other store I frequent is Tommy Bahama, but I don't shop there as often as I use, too. I can now just go on line and have it shipped to my home. My most recent visit, I could see the wear and tear of the Galleria and a desperate need for repairs and maintenance. As long as Apple remains a tenant, I'll keep coming back. read more

The Galleria is honestly a shell of what it used to be. When I first moved to the STL area, I actually enjoyed coming here, but now it's not a mall I choose to visit unless I absolutely have to. We stopped in last night only to pick up an online order, and that was the sole reason for our visit. This mall used to be the place to shop in St. Louis, great department stores, solid dining options, and an overall upscale feel. That's definitely not the case anymore. It's gone downhill significantly. Many of the good department stores that used to be here are no longer in business or have moved elsewhere and tons of new spots have aken over some of the spaces, but I am not very familiar with many of the new stores. The visit itself felt uncomfortable. There were police officers and security guards throughout the mall, and a lot of people just hanging around who didn't seem to be shopping. The space felt louder, messier, and not very inviting. On top of that, the mall now closes at 7 PM on a Saturday, which is pretty shocking for a mall this size. I assume it's for safety reasons, especially since there are signs posted stating that all minors must be accompanied by an adult. It's disappointing to see how far this place has declined. The shoppers who once gave the Galleria its appeal have clearly moved on elsewhere. read more

With all the St Louis malls and stores closing, St Louis Galleria seems to be going strong. All your mall favorites plus some unique stores. Lately, the Galleria has had some bad publicity of gangs and violence. I did not see anything like that. Families shopping and I felt completely safe. No empty spaces like other malls. This is a nice well lit pricey mall. Plenty of elite stores to take your monies but basic stores are here as well. Restaurants, movie theater, helium comedy club. Not to many Dillard locations left in STL but one is parked right here. Food court has great dining options. This is one of the busier malls with a-lot of traffic . Ample parking around the building and also a parking garage. FYI besides the restaurant, Dillards and Macy's, this mall close early . FYI 7pm doors close. One of the few malls left in the area, it's pretty clean as far as that goes, bathrooms are well kept up with, I have always appreciated the huge parking garage. Came here to get our steps in and mostly just meander about. We got a coffee outside of Nordstrom and were done walking the mall in about 90 minutes. It seemed like a lot of the escalators were broken, that was very strange. Lots of people on our visit, it was Mother's Day weekend. read more

Only two visits, but I found the Saint Louis Galleria to be a nice upscale feel. The location is ideal off the highway. Parking was plentiful, but even on a weekday late afternoon they were busy. I have been to Dillards, Lens Crafters and Apple Store. Also the men's room on the second floor by Apple which was clean and nice. No question I would return and recommend. read more

SLG has Dillards, Nordstrom and Macys as anchor stores located on all 3 levels. There is also the Galleria 6 movie theater, H&M, Baby Gap, Hollister, Anthropologie, Apple, Express and Sephora inside with decent size stores. The food court is on Level 1 with local and national chain restaurants. The mall design feels like outside/atrium vibe. There are over 150 shops available. read more

This mall has all the things you need if you want to go Christmas shopping or last minute shopping for someone's birthday. There's a lot of stores to explore, so take your time there. I visited the very first build-a-bear store right there and enjoyed my experience there. I'm giving it 4.5 stars, because there aren't a lot of food courts to choose from and the escalators are closed so I had to go around the mall just to get from one place to another, which is irritating. There were so many different clothing store options to choose from versus our California galleria mall. The style here in Missouri caught my attention with a few new pieces that I added to my wardrobe. This is a large mall that definitely lets you get your steps in. Most of the stores I shopped welcomed me in and asked if I needed any assistance. Some great Memorial Day sales took place here also.,lots of food locations to pick from but I decided not to here while shopping. I would FOR SURE shop here again on my next visit to this state. This is a big mall with many stores. I was happy to see a Dillard's because that store is not in my city. My oldest son, niece, and nephew were looking for specific shoes because they had Christmas cash to spend. All of them were able to find what they wanted. The mall had signs saying that masks were required, but not of the stores were enforcing the wearing of masks. Some stores were limiting the amount of people allowed in at a time. I appreciate stores talking precautions since this pandemic seems to still be an ongoing issue. The next time I'm in St. Louis, I would come back. read more

Quite a few empty store fronts in the mall. I used to frequent the Galleria when I lived in STL, looks like other than Nordstrom and the newer Apple Store the mall could use a few more stores. I noticed a new Savage Fenty store front that should be coming soon. I think this will give the mall a bit of excitement. I love that the mall has surface parking and garage parking. I am sure during the holiday shopping season this makes for finding a parking spot seamless. read more

One of two area Malls that hasn't lost almost everything from the Golden Era (the other being West County) and manages to still attract crowds. Not as good as West County for Mall walking or dining. Seems like it's slowly starting to fade away (unlike West County which seems to be hanging in there). Not quite the same selection of stores as there used to be even a couple years ago. The Galleria used to be the premiere song experience in St. Louis. It had great stores, fine dining, and an upscale appeal. That was in the 90s and early 2000s. Now, with the addition of the MetroLink stop, there are far more, ahem, questionable types hanging around. The mall is dirtier, louder, and more dangerous, and the upscale shoppers have migrated to West County. It's a tragedy how far this mall has fallen. read more

I just went to this mall because it's the only place I can get my skin care products. I was brave and went and the store was closed! I will just order online from now on. Ah, the galleria. It's still a decent mall at times, though I feel it lost its vibe and magic some time ago. I'm old enough to remember when the Galleria was the ritziest place to shop and visit in the St. Louis area. It was the replacement for the downtown shopping centers like St. Louis Centre at the time. Everyone, young and old, all races - I mean everyone, would be packing this mall. Today, of course, things have changed. There's a lot of different reasons people aren't going there anymore - which would require multiple paragraphs to get into. The last couple visits there really weren't many people shopping in the Galleria. But there's still plenty of reasons to shop there. They do have a decent food court as well as some restaurants outside the place, such as Five Guys, Weber Grill, etc. Plus they got stores that no other mall has, including Urban Outfitters. And the mall is clean. For some reason there always seems to be a shortage of restrooms. I've never done the movies here. They have a well-lit parking garage. Sometimes you'll see people whose pants are hanging down with their undergarments visible, which I don't like. That's about all I can say. Most of us are well aware of the bad publicity the Galleria has got in the last decade. Violence, robberies, etc. Signs all over the place that try to curb it all. Many blame it on the Metrolink, which has been linked not too far from the Galleria since 2006. Blame it on whatever you want, folks. Just remember, the mall still exists, for who knows how long. We were staying at a hotel across the street and headed over to walk around and shop a bit on a rainy day. We both experienced a lot of nostalgia as we walked around reminiscing about our teenage years hanging out at malls...it has been a long time since I've seen a mall that has this high of an occupancy level. So many other malls are either mostly empty, or have at least lost their anchors, and just seem sad. This really reminded me of an old-school busy mall, complete with a fountain in the middle. Seriously, it is particularly impressive that occupancy is so high particularly after the past 2 years of the pandemic. They have a good assortment of stores, and the required pretzel and cookie establishments. If you're staying in the area and need to move around a bit and maybe need to shop for a few things, this is a good place to spend an hour or so! read more

Malls aren't typically something I like to go to when I'm traveling, however it was a rainy day and we didn't have many other options. You can easily spend 2+ hours here. I only go to certain places in the Galleria-The Cheesecake Factory and Anthropologie for sure and unless I am with someone else and they want to venture to other stores I will go. I am also a fan of West Elm. The Galleria is much better since they implemented that policy regarding minors. I went this past Friday and it wasn't packed at all. They have a lot of new editions I haven't seen at West County. They have a nice array of shops to fit your fancy. One of the main reason I didn't like the Galleria was because of the crowds but it seems better as of lately. I frequent the mall pretty often and can't complain for all the amenities they provide. They have majority of the stores you need when looking for either hats, jewelry, or even clothes. The mall is cleaned and the furthest you'd have to walk from one store to another is roughly 10 minutes. Parking can be rough depending what day of the week and what time of the day you go. And when you need to take a load off they offer 4 different restaurants in the main food court and a variety of others throughout the mall. read more

This review is written from the perspective of a visitor to St. Louis: 3.5/5 stars. It was on a rainy Sunday, August 29, 2018 that my dad, brother, and I visited the Galleria before a Cardinals I-55 series game against the Chicago Cubs. Years after the 2008 recession there is a scarcity of retail in downtown St. Louis by America's Center. As a matter of fact the Embassy Suites where we stayed was a former Dillard's across from the dead City Centre Mall. Ironically it was the expansion and growing popularity of the St. Louis Galleria that put the final nail in the coffin of this late mall that was reborn as City Center. If St. Louis was our stage for a week, then the Gateway Arch and Mississippi was stage right, Embassy Suites was the back center-right, Busch Stadium was front-right, and the Galleria was all the way at stage left. Although it has a St. Louis address, it sits technically in the City of Richmond Heights. The St. Louis Galleria, which opened in 1984, is currently a Brookfield property. In similar style to the majority of their properties, it is a Class-A mall. These malls generally feature higher end stores and draw annual profits of $500 per square foot for the inline stores. In other word this is an attractive mall that is mostly occupied. It shouldn't be a surprise that it reminds me of a Class-A mall near me called the Las Vegas Fashion Show. Both are Brookfield properties. This 1,200,000 square foot three level mall off I-64/US 40 and I-170 includes 4,700 parking spaces in a surface parking lot and parking garages. In our case, we used Lyft which dropped us off near Macy's. We had a nice afternoon exploring the mall. The definition of Galleria best explains the mall environment. It reads: "a roofed and usually glass-enclosed promenade." I appreciated the sundry of glass ceilings that took in the sun light. This connected me with the outside environment. Under the glass ceilings are a good presentation of businesses. The three anchors are Macy's (part of the 1991 extension), Nordstrom's (formerly Lord & Taylor), and Dillard's. The basement is home to a food court including Panda Express and Raisin Canes. The full service restaurants include California Pizza Kitchen, Weber's Grill, and the Cheesecake Factory. There were two Auntie Ann's. The in-line shops feature the national mall staples such as the Apple Store, Champs, Disney Store, and Microsoft Store. Complimenting these businesses is a movie theater. This is a Cardinal's Nation Mall that is home to a Cardinals Clubhouse store. On the second floor of the main promenade at the junction of the Nordstrom spur is a Starbuck's. The plush seats nearby provide a pleasant spot to relax with a cup of coffee. I spent the most time browsing and enjoying a cup of coffee. During our visit, I felt safe. Apparently there was a time when a bad element of juveniles was jeopardizing the safety of guests and employees. The mall took action by implementing a policy that prohibits juveniles without supervision from entering on Fridays and Saturdays after 3 pm. On this visit the juveniles and kiosk hawkers kept the peace. It is my understanding that the St. Louis Galleria made a comeback from the recession. In their favor is the nearby corpse of the Crestwood Mall and the ailing Chesterfield Mall. In the post-Border's era there is room for improvement in the mall industry including this one. Let's face it, malls were much more fun in the days of Walden Books, Sam Goody, K-Bee, Warner Bros. Store, and Virgin Record store. In my opinion, this mall could use a loss-leader store that would break even or bleed some money to bring people in. The perfect place could be a new incarnation of Border's. Another opportunity to improve the St. Louis Galleria is more retailtainment. Today, the atrium with its fountains and waterfall is its main retailtainment. On even terms of retailtainment is what I term eatertainment . This includes a restaurant that is hard to find in a region. Weber Grill is the quintessential example. The excuse for us to come here was Weber Grill, a sister location of the Chicago flagship that served me the best BBQ that I ever had in my life (https://www.yelp.com/biz/weber-grill-restaurant-chicago?osq=weber+grill). It was this superior BBQ that made the time that we spent in the Galleria so worth it. And 4.5 star BBQ my friends is something that you cannot buy on Amazon. As I write this, the retail landscape in downtown St. Louis by America's Center, is to put it kindly "dead". Until there is a retail renaissance here, the Galleria is the retail go-to place. read more

Certain shopping dynamics are simply out of our control however; I am still firm on my annoyance with the crowd. I've never understood the purpose of coming to a mall without the intention to shop. This is not a place for frivolous congregating. Children go outside to play not the mall (unless in an area designated for the entertainment of juveniles) Food court is still pretty mediocre but hey; if you like food fast this works well for you. Cheesecake Factory, California Pizza Kitchen, Nordstrom's restaurant and a couple other locations I do not prefer are housed here as well. The stores are undeniable at the Galleria which makes avoiding the mall nearly impossible. Our only option for Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie, Free People, West Elm, and the list goes on... Do not go to the nail salon that is in the mall. Very rude service and they did such a bad job with my manicure. Filed my nails uneven and the nail polish chipped the next day which indicates it was old nail polish. The nail tech I had kept rushing me to leave and was very rude overall all well. I was looking for a great mall that had everything I needed and was close by, and this one seemed to fit the profile. Besides the fact that Nordstroms wasn't open yet, I really enjoyed the layout and the decor. I've never seen a mall with such elaborate decor in terms od water fountains and structure. The water fountain in the middle of garden court was amazingly big and beautiful. The cinema court area was grand and had the food court nearby. There was an Express and when there's an Express store, you know this mall is legit. I will be happy to come back and spent some money here now that Nordstrom is open for business. Sometimes the crowd can be a little on the rowdy side in my opinion but overall this is a great place to shop with a nice variety for all shoppers.
