This is unquestionably one of the most well-maintained, organized and manicured cemeteries you will…read morefind anywhere in the state. It is directly behind the Palm Valley Lutheran Church which is a historical building. All the graves are very well laid out and ordered primarily into family burial plots. There are acres of old headstones , recent ones and some waiting to be interred in their future plot. There is a single paved lane that runs through the center of the cemetery dividing the old and the new graves. I'm sure many of these headstones belong to the Who's Who of Round Rock and local history. This is still an active cemetery and I found several recent graves from 2022. There is also more room for additional plots on the back side should you decide this is the place to be your forever home. The church had a historical marker, but I did not see one for the cemetery. The pictures in this review don't fully capture just how beautiful this place is.

You will find a Texas historical sign denoting one particular individual buried here. There are many older headstones here along with some recent ones, making this an active graveyard. In keeping with many older cemeteries like this, you'll find lots of headstones belonging to children and young adults. The 2 to 3 acre property is ringed with a fence and is at this time receiving some new construction to enhance the property. The property is very well cared for with virtually no toppled headstones, however, I could not find a listing of who is buried where, nor any information regarding burial information. Some of the headstones have been repaired and some still lie on the ground. As the plaque says, these graves belong to many of the early pioneers, of whom many died young. Many of these headstones belong to people in their 20s. The cemetery is probably just slightly larger than an acre and there are unmarked graves located here. The unmarked graves are marked with simple white crosses. If you're interested in local history, this is a point of interest.

Sandwiched between Round Rock and Georgetown in the countryside along County Road 110, you'll find…read morethis cemetery. It sits on about 3 acres and is oddly divided between the older headstones on the south side and the newer ones on the north side with an expanse of land in the middle. Right next-door is a camper and boat storage facility. The property is relatively well cared for, although many of the older headstones really could use a good cleaning. There is a Texas historical sign on site which speaks of the Swedish settlers in the area. This makes sense since many of the headstones reflect the language. One thing that I found odd was there were our family plots covered in pea gravel laid out, but they are unclaimed. For that matter, virtually the entire cemetery is laid out in square family plots in an orderly manner. One name that stood out here, was the name Bergstrom, which reminds me of Austin's airport namesake. The newest internment that I could find was from 2025 and there is plenty of space still available. One thing that was conspicuously missing from the newer markers were small oval porcelain photographs of the deceased cemented to the headstones. Out of the over 20 graves found here, sadly, about 10 of them belong to newborns and infants. There is a Texas historical sign on the property which you can read about in the photos below that add a great more detail. Sadly, one thing that was also customary was that slaves were also buried on this property, but have unmarked graves. It does look as though some effort has been made in the upkeep of this small cemetery.

It is a small family cemetery, but it does have one or two names associated with other cemeteries in this area. One name I found was Lawhon, which is the name of another cemetery not far from here (see separate review). The headstones appear to have been cleaned and apparently it is filled with wild flowers in the spring time.

A busy road in front of it, residential homes nearby, and a storage facility directly behind it. The property is relatively well cared for, and even the older headstones from the late 1800s have been cleaned and restored. Like pretty much all cemeteries from this time, people did not live very long and you see plenty of infant and child graves. This may or may not be an active cemetery anymore since the last internment here was in 2012. I did find some Woodman of the world markers and a confederate soldier grave. One thing that was conspicuously absent was a Texas historical sign. The pictures included tell the rest of the story.

Just outside the small town of Jonah sits this small 2 acre cemetery, just off of busy Highway 29…read more There is no parking lot so you'll have to park directly on the side of the road to gain access. The cemetery is well-maintained and has several designated family plots. This is still an active graveyard for the local residents of Jonah and the latest interment was from 2022. Despite many of the residents in this cemetery being born in the 1800s, everyone here was buried here after 1902. There still appears to be enough room for another 50 graves. The most prominent locally well known name that I found here is Gattis. Moody and Threadgill were a couple of other familiar names. The Texas historical sign at the entrance adds more insight.
