This is a small cemetery of a few hundred graves that sits behind Saint Paul's Lutheran Church, which is just a couple of blocks off of Highway 79 in the town of Thorndale. Virtually all of the names on the grave markers have German roots. This is still very much an active cemetery with plenty of room to grow. There is a Texas historical sign in front of the church, which has more information on it in the photos below. On the west side of the cemetery you'll find quite a number of children's graves from the early 20th century. There is no listing of names as to who is buried where, but that may be available in the neighboring church. This is the final resting place for those in this local community. read more
