Sandwiched between Round Rock and Georgetown in the countryside along County Road 110, you'll find…read morethis cemetery. It sits on about 3 acres and is oddly divided between the older headstones on the south side and the newer ones on the north side with an expanse of land in the middle. Right next-door is a camper and boat storage facility. The property is relatively well cared for, although many of the older headstones really could use a good cleaning. There is a Texas historical sign on site which speaks of the Swedish settlers in the area. This makes sense since many of the headstones reflect the language. One thing that I found odd was there were our family plots covered in pea gravel laid out, but they are unclaimed. For that matter, virtually the entire cemetery is laid out in square family plots in an orderly manner. One name that stood out here, was the name Bergstrom, which reminds me of Austin's airport namesake. The newest internment that I could find was from 2025 and there is plenty of space still available. One thing that was conspicuously missing from the newer markers were small oval porcelain photographs of the deceased cemented to the headstones. Some of the headstones have been repaired and some still lie on the ground. As the plaque says, these graves belong to many of the early pioneers, of whom many died young. Many of these headstones belong to people in their 20s. The cemetery is probably just slightly larger than an acre and there are unmarked graves located here. The unmarked graves are marked with simple white crosses. If you're interested in local history, this is a point of interest.

It sits just on the outskirts of the Hutto city limits and despite still being somewhat in the country, there are some new homes next to it. There are quite a number of headstones from the 1800s and there are many veterans buried here including a couple of confederate soldiers. The cemetery has a single lane gravel road running through the sections. This is still an active cemetery judging by a few very recent burials. There is a Texas historical sign at the entrance that tells you some great historical facts and is included in the photos of this review. This location is well manicured and the headstones are well arranged, not scattered about. You'll find many well cared for headstones, but there are no above ground mausoleums. This is one of the nicest cemeteries worthy of spending some time walking through.

I think I want to be buried here. A lovely and serene place. A variety of sculptures are placed throughout the grounds. On one side, there is a green, lush pasture with grazing cows. On another side, the most beautiful aspect of this cemetery -- the prayer garden. It was larger and more pleasant than I expected. There is a lovely little pond and a trail that passes multiple family plots. It has that magical hidden-from-the-world feeling. I neglected to take photos since I wanted to avoid photographing any gravestones. Why doesn't every cemetery have a prayer garden!? This cemetery serves all faiths. Oh and they offer GREEN BURIALS (sign me up). There's no official parking lot -- you just find areas to pull over. There is a slightly larger area to pull over by the portable toilets (by prayer garden entrance). Cemetery hours are dawn to dusk, daily. The official hours listed here are for the office, which has limited hours and is closed on weekends. Office staff is very friendly (I called to confirm hours).

3.5 This is a very…read morenicely maintained cemetery. Several of the graves were covered in rose bushes and floral arrangements that you may not see in other places. There were some gravel pathways and and some statuary that were very pretty. Behind the graves there was a prayer walk way with headstones, chimes and figures dedicated to St. Francis of Asisi. There is no real parking lot to speak of but you can park on the gravel near the opening of cemetery. Also, there are no real bathrooms here. There is a port o potty but it's super gross so be aware to take care of that somewhere else.

At the entrance closest to H-E-B you'll find a very detailed layout of the cemetery which will provide you with lots of information. The entire cemetery seems to have a randomly laid out pattern of headstones and markers with some family plots, but mostly just individual markers. Many headstones found here are cast in concrete instead of granite. As the sign at the entrance points out, there are many unmarked graves as well which are primarily former slaves and other African-Americans. Most of the graves have long since been forgotten about, but there are still quite a number of newer graves that are well tended by family members. The grounds are mowed, but there are quite a number of headstones in a state of disrepair. This is a small Hispanic cemetery located on County Road 137 just a few miles outside of Hutto. It is basically surrounded by the quiet countryside, but there are a couple of residences nearby. There are a handful of headstones from the early part of the 20th century, but sadly they are in a sad state of disrepair. Many of these graves are well taken care of by living family members which adds some nice color to the place. It should be noted that there is another Santa Maria cemetery located in Pflugerville which shares the same name. The cemetery has been fairly well cared for, although there are some trees growing directly out of some of the graves that should've been cut down. One thing that is nice to see are all the touching the momentos and decorations left by friends and family. There is a single gravel lane that leads about 100 feet into the cemetery for visitation purposes.

The cemetery is well laid out in family plots and is well taken care of, even the headstones appear to have been cleaned. The majority of the graves are from the 20th century but there are a handful of recent additions. This is referred to as a church graveyard, however, there is no church on or next to the property. The two most notable names found throughout the property are Almquist and Johnson. There appears to still be additional space for interments and a photo included in this review has the information you need in case you wish to inquire.

However, today this graveyard is surrounded by housing, retail and the tollway. Sadly, many of these graves are of infants and of those who died in their 20s and 30s. The newest decedent that I could find laid to rest here is from 1953. So if you're looking for a little bit of old Texas history surrounded by all the new urban growth, then you should visit this one small acre plot just off the side of Louis Henna Blvd.
