I've been to many Catholic Churches throughout my life and I understand it doesn't matter where the locations are at. As long as I feel peace and content, that is all that matters. PRO: - a down to earth setting and not over adorn with unnecessary objects - open to the public in the daytimes and anyone can attend or form a praying group sessions there. - Virgin Mary near the end entrance is so pleasant and serene. Anyone can buy candles from the staffs and leave it there. - the mass is pleasant to listen to and they always welcome non religious guests - the staffs are friendly and informative - parking is spacious - a private school for all students CON: - church is not as big as some of the others Side Note* seatings can accommodate a decent amount of people during those special religious holidays - not open in the late evening Side Note* there might be vandalism if opened late Religious or not, I do come here even if there are no Mass that day. I like the quiet, pleasant feel of this secret place. This is my go to place when I needed guidance or assurance in my life. Especially, during those happy, sad, heartbreaking, or anxious moments. I even love the fact that anyone can still come here - Catholic or not....because everyone needs an inner spiritual, safe haven sometimes. read more

I have been to this church a few times and I love going here. Father Luis is really good and very kind.

I've been coming here for the 6:30am daily Mass before I go to work. Unless of course I have to be at work at 6:30am. I've been in a mood lately and needed to do something about it. I really like starting by mornings here in prayer and giving thanks for all my blessings. I feel it helps start my day in a positive manner. I always leave feeling much better and I am able to tackle what the day brings me. The mass is short and moves quickly in about 30 minutes. 1 reading and the gospel. I'm out by 7:00am and make it to work in about 5 minutes. Parking is plentiful. They have 2 lots available. The people are very friendly here. read more

Maybe Yelp should consider reviewing priests instead of churches because it really depends on the priest and the donations it receives. If you didn't already know, priests are rotated out every few years, so the church will always see changes with every change in leadership. This church has gone through many changes itself. It has air-conditioning now, and was recently repainted. I can't list all the physical changes (there are so many!), but you should really visit and see for yourself. They also have this program that helps families in need. I'm not sure what it's called but the office is located in the portables on the side. Once a week, food is distributed to those in need in the parking lot. These might include vegetables and dry food. The school's aim is to provide the opportunity of receiving Catholic education for everyone. They feel that everyone should be able to receive a Catholic education without the private school price tag. The teachers are paid very low (according to some standards) and most have to supplement their income with other jobs. That being said, this is not just another job for them. They really love what they do, and really care about their students. They'll remember you long after you've graduated. The school has small class sizes, and this results in a close-knit community. Also, they promote a feeling of family. Older students interact with younger students regularly, by reading to them and other similar activities. This church is very diverse. We have over a thousand families registered here at this parish! The great part is that this diversity and large number is acknowledged and catered to. We have so many mass times, in more than one language. We have youth groups, religious education and language classes! So if you don't want your kids to have a private school education, they can still learn about God. You have other options. Our Vietnamese youth group welcomes members of all ages, so whether you're 7, 17, or 47, single, married, or have kids, you have a place in our group. If you leave, we won't ostracize you. You're still welcome to come along and help out on our camping trips and eat at our Christmas parties (unless you're Rin. lol jk) What makes this church stand out? Their Viet choir!! They practice every week. They are a large group of young adults, and have been singing together for a while now (You're welcome to join!). They make Mass so lively, without making it sound awkwardly like a Christian concert. I can't sing but I always sing along because it sounds like the entire church is singing. Whenever I visit other churches, the choir is what I miss most. read more

The quality of of the masses is equivalent to the exterior features of this church: dilapidated and dull. There seems to be a very huge cultural barrier between the Mexican and Vietnamese groups; it's so bad that it feels like it's two different churches. There are several youth groups in this church, one of the main ones goes by the name of Guiding Light. There are several nice people people in this group but most of them are cliquey and have no interest in welcoming you to their group. It's quite possible to form close friendships with the people in this group. But once you leave the group, every single member of Guiding Light will drop you like a bad habit. And this is true for everyone that has left Guiding Light. What's the point of making friends if these people will ignore once you leave? Pathetic. As once being a student of St. Polycarp's confirmation program, I can tell you that the quality of teachers here is trashy. Not only that, but the confirmation program is run by imbeciles. Perhaps the only aspect of confirmation that is good are there three day retreats. read more

I was baptized at St. Polycarp as were my two sisters. All three of us were married there. My first child was baptized there by my father who was the first permanent deacon ordained there. Both my parents celebration of life were held there. My sisters and I all attended St Polycarp for 8 years. First Holy Communion and Confirmation... Yeah I have some fond memories of this place. read more

I love admire, respect ,adore.... Jesus.. How I wish to LOVE unconditionally like him... I do not attend Sunday church anymore at any places .. But once in a while when I'm in turmoil and life is overwhelming and everything sounds like noise... And I just don't care.. N am weak to do anything .. I go here park .. N go into prayer mode. It's soooo calming in there right as you walk in.. As I pray with my eyes open and look at the statue of the crucification. I can't help but let the tears flow through my eyes... Wondering why they would murder such a perfectly loving human being.. And I get depressed... And then I feel better in strength I get up from my knees.. And I know tomorrow is a new day.... For the people that hate me.. N send that towards me.. That too shall pass. And I live another day practicing to be more loving and real with myself and others. Forgive.... N let go.. I love that they offer a 7:30pm mass on Sunday!!! The parishioners were very welcoming, and the priest delivered a good sermon. I will definitely be taking a longer drive whenever possible to attend mass here. Especially when I need to attend a late mass. read more

I was here 2 weeks ago for a funeral service, and it was really nice. The ceremony was long and included many Catholic traditions as well as communion. The lady singing all of the songs had the most beautiful voice. So sweet and soothing. I could listen to her sing for days. Such a nice way to remember your loved ones funeral with the ceremony being so nice. Immediate family carried the casket into the church and also carried it out of the church after the ceremony was done. Everything was beautiful inside the church, the flower arrangements and everything looked lovely. The one thing that did suck was the heat, there wasn't air conditioning running in the church and it was a hot summer day (I believe it was 95 degrees that day) so everyone was sweating their butts off ! And I was wearing a long black dress, and my hair started getting frizzy from the heat. Anyway lol now that I'm done complaining and making it about me; it was a lovely place to have a ceremony and all the people involved with the church did a wonderful job during the ceremony. read more

Thank you Father Steve for helping with my mothers last rights a few weeks ago. I am from out of state and my mother who was 102 was fading. Father Steve dropped what he was doing and what he had planned and was there within 10 minutes! I am not aware of who the Eucharistic Minister is who saw my mother every Monday but I also want to thank that person for the unselfish giving of their time and energy to be there for my mother! This is a wonderful school for learning and education. The school not only teaches kids the general education a public school provides, but takes it to the next level. The school helps children to work well with their peers, allowing them to grow as individuals. A great school for grades K-8. read more
