attended Seacoast Grace from 2017 onward, serving faithfully as a lead usher, in the choir, and in children's ministries (VBS/RFK). I was deeply invested and invited many family and friends to join. Sadly, my experience eventually became one of hurt and disillusionment. ​In 2020, during the Rooted program, a confrontation occurred where I reacted in anger to disturbing language from another attendee. I am transparent about my mistake; I used profanity and I own that. However, leadership focused solely on my reaction while ignoring the context of my life: I was currently navigating a divorce, the death of my brother, a job loss, and a traumatic physical attack that left my hand severely injured. Not one person from the church visited me during my hospitalization. Under the leadership of Connie Surratt and Autumn Igo, my serving privileges were removed, then quietly restricted even after being "reinstated." I felt intentionally hidden and denied any real pastoral care despite my attempts to engage. ​Two Easters ago, I was accused by security of yelling at someone at the altar. This was entirely false I was actually greeting longtime friends from my Bible study. This culminated in a scene where a leader (Gwen) physically grabbed my arms and verbally assaulted me in the parking lot, witnessed by other volunteers (Dean and Janet). Despite it being proven that the accusations against me were false, no apology was ever offered. I remained "on penance," feeling like a child walking on eggshells with angry parents. The breaking point was the treatment of the vulnerable. On a day we were taught about helping the community, I saw a pregnant woman with children being surrounded by security and recorded by staff. When I asked to help and feed her, I was told she was being removed at the instruction of Autumn. I later found the woman around the corner in tears; she asked if she could pray for me. It was heartbreaking. This, alongside a later incident where a man from the church harassed me at a post office for "trying to buy my way into heaven" by helping another woman with diapers, showed a distorted view of mercy within the culture. ​Three weeks ago, I was approached by Autumn and Daryl after a service. Despite my request for witnesses, Autumn made serious, false accusations of verbal and physical abuse against me in front of my friends. I was told to leave and never return under threat of police involvement. This felt like a coordinated attempt to discredit me and separate me from the community I love. ​Since leaving, I've met many others with strikingly similar stories. If my full story had been heard openly rather than discussed behind closed doors, I believe I would have been met with understanding. Instead, I felt watched rather than shepherded, and defined by assumptions instead of relationship. ​I am not perfect, but what I experienced was not restoration it was control and image management. I am grateful for the hundreds of kind individuals in the congregation who reflect Christ; they are the reason I stayed so long. I pray for accountability at Seacoast Grace. Revelation reveals the heart of a church, and I speak this truth with love for those who have been pushed away like me. read more

My family and I have been attending for over a year now. We needed a place for my kids to be poured into and help build strong biblical foundations. The kids ministry and Jr High ministry have been an absolute blessing. The small groups Bible studies "rooted" and "Jesus Changes Everything" have been so great for my wife and I. We were a little overwhelmed when we first attended, new and in a bigger church than our previous, and these small groups helped us find a great community, a group that will pray with you, and celebrate life victories with you. I watch it but on Sunday I enjoyed going to Heritage. When I attend other events I am able to go because I am let off by the CLC. I've been going here for 5 years. I absolutely love this church! I like how they offer many different ministries, which was a great way to meet people at church and make friends. However, I CAN'T AFFORD TO GO TO THIS CHURCH ANYMORE. I use to attend Mom's Together. The whole point was for mom's to get together in small groups and discuss motherhood and support each other. Year after year the price kept going up significantly, yet nothing was being offered more this year than the last, so why the continuous increase? Along with that, I was sending my kid to VBS every summer. This year they are charging $100! That's absurd and crazy! Isn't the whole point of VBS for kids to go to Bible School during the summer and learn about God? The staff is volunteer based, so $100 x's easily a thousand kids is $100k!!!! To have my kid for 3 hours a day for 5 days seems pretty incredible. I would love to see how that money is being spent! And why price it out so much and make it financially difficult for kids to attend? This church is starting to seem like a big money grab. If they really wanted to help the people of their church and their community, then they would make these things affordable for EVERYONE to attend. This makes me so upset. I guess these are privileges for only the rich Rossmoor club. We're looking for another church where everyone is able to participate at a reasonable price. Btw, Cornerstone VBS was only $15 and my son preferred that one over SeaCoast. read more

The best environment and most welcoming staff and volunteers! I showed up a little late, you know how cranky those husbands are in the morning! Sadly this meant I had to park further and walk and I was walking!! However I got a sweet little ride on a cool red golf cart with the friendliest driver Chris! Loved the sermon and the worship, it was a tad bit loud but they provided ear plugs! I love how many young and older families I saw, you guys are reaching EVERY generation! If you're new to Christianity and the whole church thing then I'd say it's an okay place to learn the basics but there are other churches way more dedicated to doing that than here. They push Rooted like it's the best thing in the world but it's pretty basic, which again, is okay for a beginner. Just a fair warning it's $45 and if you miss more than 2 meetings you get dropped from your small group and have to wait again until they have Rooted to sign up and pay ANOTHER $45. After about a year, year and a half you're not really going to grow. The sermons are topical, the senior pastor talks at 100 mph, his son who is apparently also a "pastor" isn't much better, and the worship just seems fake. There isn't much that speaks to the soul. The Young Adults ministry is okay but it's cliquey and difficult to make friends. If no one there knows you, they don't talk to you and the relationships you do make are superficial. Pastor Matt does NOT belong in ministry in my opinion. While I was attending the church at the time , I had recently come out of Mormonism (long story) and was struggling to understand concepts from biblical Christianity. I asked Pastor Matt if I could speak to him and asked my questions. Eventually he just told me "I don't know dude, if you're not sure, go back to Mormonism or explore other religions" I stopped attending after that. So instead of guiding me to verses in the Bible that might answer my questions, he just tells me to go back to the very religion I just got out of. I highly recommend Seacoast Grace church to everyone. They have the Ranch House service for the elderly, the main sanctuary for young and middle-age people, and the children ministry as well. The pastors do an incredible job of delivering a message that deals with the world win today and how it applies to the Bible. They have a great outreach program funding different organizations overseas to plant roots and other countries! My wife and I have been coming her for about 3 years. I often leave with more questions than answers. The speeches (less like sermons) are basically one verse and then a motivational speech. It seems odd that the family employs all the family. They all seem to be doing very well financially and the church is what I would describe as drive by Christian. No real fellowship and good luck shaking a pastor's hand or having any meaningful interaction. Rather, they encourage "small groups" where other parishioners seem to teach one another. I called and sought guidance when my brother died...crickets... 1. Why is there never communion in church? 2. Why do they not disclose financials like every other church? 3. Why do we not see where every pastor went to seminary on their website like every other church? 4. Did each family member on the payroll named "pastor" go to seminary? 5. I have been to many churches of different sorts of Christian practices, but Seacoast Grace has been my all time favorite. Service is never boring. Pastor Doyle's sermons feel as though he is talking directly to you. Once you get deeper into the church through volunteering and/or taking classes you met the best people from all different walks of life. I volunteered regularly in the children's building prior to covid and I met such amazing parents and staff. I miss the kiddos so much. Even though our world was flipped upside down, Seacoast never let their congregation down. They had interactive service and worship live streamed, along with specialty events like song request worship and a live Q&A. And now they have slowly opened back up offering safe outdoor service to those who register. They have put in so much effort to lift our spirits! I love this church! read more

Also, I just made a huge mistake for refusing to go to another new school as I missed my friends, since I was about turning to 13 years old. However, I got the right place of Calvary chapel cypress and made new friends as I suppose to do every day and year as I developed to speak better. After attending this church for a year I come to write an updated review. This church is not a stagnant church, they are always doing something new and trying to improve their already good experience. There is a heavy influence on the band and worship so if you enjoy good music give our church a try. One thing I really admire is that they do not try to push tithing on you, the pastors make a point to let the congregation know that collecting money is not the object and the buckets are being passed around for church family to handle their business with God. This church is fantastic for families the kids facilities are amazing. I don't personally have kids but its very obvious how the church goes out of their way for them. Security is paramount and the attendees are seem to be fantastic people. This church feels very safe and comfortable. There is free, delicious coffee available to guests as well as food and donuts available for sale. Breakfast burritos are amazing. The church has also started to put up the scriptures on the big screen so you can easily see the context. Lessons usually revolve around a topic and are supported through scripture which is very important. The pastors do sometimes talk about how the lesson applied to them personally but their feelings or opinions do not intrude into the teaching in a negative way. Overall the sermons are enjoyable and the congregation is a bunch of nice people They have a app which allows you to watch services when you cannot attend and allows you to keep up with their abundance of events. This church is large but not a megachurch. Don't let the size fool you, it's as personal as you want it to be. Great for prospective Christians. I will end the review in saying that I look forward to coming to church all week and love attending here. read more

Great Children's Program. Great special needs programs, but for me it was motivational speaking for adults, the message lacks scripture. This is a church where no one carries a Bible. The word of God should be the most important thing. Personal stories and motivational speaking in this church is the only thing that goes on. My true rating would be 3.5 stars and to be honest this is based on my experiences at church from about Dec 2010- Feb 2012 when I moved out of the area, and some recent online visits. Pastor Doyle does a great job with his sermons by making them applicable to our lives. His style and presentation each week contain just enough humor to amuse me but not so much that it feels like he is putting on a show. I always walk away from his services deep in thought and feeling like I learned something valuable. The worship band is excellent and I am always in awe of their talent and so thankful they are using it to serve God. SCG was my 1st church experience. What was lacking for me was feeling connected to others. I tried out a small group and looked into a couple of others but didn't really feel there anything that fit me. I tried to connect with others by serving every Sunday but after having served almost every week for months when someone I had spoken to several times came up and introduced herself and welcomed me like it was my 1st day, I left that day pretty crushed. It was after I left SCG and moved on to a new church in the IE that I came to realize just how important community is. At my new church, community groups were heavily encouraged and not based on age or interest but by location. It was people of all ages who lived close to each other and we'd get together weekly to discuss Sunday's sermon. The all ages thing worked out well bc with everyone at different life stages each person could be mentored/supported by someone else who had already dealt with a similar life struggle. Also we all started getting together frequently since we lived so close. I am now moving back to OC and hoped SCG would have further developed community groups in the year + Ive been away, but since there really hasn't been mention of the importance and need for community in any of the sermons I have watched online I am very doubtful. In general, SCG comes off to me as a place where weekend Christian's go. if you just want to go to church on the weekends and hear a good sermon and good music SCG is great for that. But if you really want to live the life of a Christian throughout the week and have others hold you accountable, be prepared to potentially work hard to get connected to others. read more

If you're new to the Christian faith, this is a good church in which to get planted and "bloom." This is a good-sized church with an active congregation. The senior pastor is Doyle Surratt, and he delivers his sermons in a clear, understandable style that helps to make the Bible relevant to our daily lives. This church's sermons are topical, as opposed to verse-by-verse, and the messages are typically in a series (separate sermons with a common theme). They have a really good praise and worship team, singing contemporary Christian praise songs at the beginning of each service. The service times are Saturdays at 5:00 p.m. and Sunday mornings at 9:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. There is no midweek service. Seacoast Grace Church helps to make the big church seem smaller and more intimate through small groups, which meet in members' homes on certain days of the week (I'm guessing this is lieu of a midweek service). They also have a number of ministries available in which to get involved, depending on your life situation. There are groups for men, women, kids (grade school) and young people (high school and college age). For those looking to get to know others and make friends within the church, the small groups are a great way to do it, as well as getting involved in the various ministries. The church has a very nice, state-of-the-art facility in the main campus in Cypress. There is also a separate building known as the Ranch House on the Cypress campus, where a 10:30 "Traditions" service is held. I deducted a star for this church not having a midweek service and for not having a dedicated singles group for those over the age of 30 (for some reason, singles groups in Christian churches start out well then fail within the year). I really like the fact that this church has a Saturday night service, however. Overall, this is a very well-run church catering to just about every age and life situation, and especially is good for those new to the faith. read more

We first came to Seacoast Grace during a Thanksgiving service. It was the most elaborate church service I ever attended. Returning the next week, the service was better. When I met Pastor Doyal I asked him about it and he said the church goes all out several times a year. I've been attending for over 4 years now and they never let up. It appears the wheels will fall off of this wagon! The ones in the upper echelon are very non-caring folks. Very sad! It seems as though people look forward to the "Good Old Days", and that's what this church once was. The bigger you get the more you seem to forget what/who helped get you there. And if you're not related to anyone in the upper echelon, don't expect much in compensation if you work there. So sad. Things change. It appears things change people also. read more

We started attending this church 7 years ago as a place to sneak in and out on Saturday nights together as a family. Now, it's our church home. Worship is amazing and Pastor Doyle constantly challenges me with the Word and makes me want to know Jesus more. This is a large church, so you really need to jump into a group or study (they have many available) to be sure you have accountability and close fellowship. Our kids LOVE LOVE LOVE SCG kids and are always randomly amazing me with the new things they've learned and the songs they walk around the house singing. The church is a fun and contemporary experience. The singing is great, but I would personally appreciate for them to include some slower songs as well to give me time to contemplate. I don't appreciate their video fun messages at the beginning of the service that inform us of the happenings coming up. Pastor Doyle applies a good message, however he does it at breakneck speeds. He read the Bible passage so quick it is hard to follow along and understand it. I just wish he'd tone it down a bit. On Saturday evenings they have free popcorn and coffee to take in with you to the sanctuary. Although I have some issues, please slow it down Pastor Doyle, the music is great- Yeah for Moi, the production is entertaining, and the message is understandable, well when the pastor isn't going so fast. read more
