A few things I love: 1. Calvary is a multigenerational church: there are many white/gray hairs, people who have lived life and stayed faithful who you can learn from. There are also a lot of younger people and young families. 2. This is not a tiny church, and it's not a mega church. There are many opportunities to serve and grow. But it isn't impersonal or over-produced like some mega churches. 3. Calvary church is very missional -- they support many organizations and missionaries in Orange County and around the world. They support over 1 MILLION dollars in missions, local and world, pop up pantry, orange county rescue mission, birth choice, etc. 4. The church has a spanish speaking service, a mandarin service, and its located in Santa Ana. People are down to earth, and there is diversity. 5. Finally the church has solid biblical teaching -- I have grown spiritually at this place, learned more about Jesus and His Word.

Liberal, compromising, church…read more So many anti-biblical woke practices here I don't know where to begin. - Female pastors teaching adult church from the pulpit - Female elders - Female worship leaders - Pro homosexual teachings. - Apologizes for the church (church hasn't been accepting enough of LGBTq+ or other sinners type messages) - Never preaches about sin and repentance (unless its directed at men's issues), just feel good topical sermons from one of the gospels or letters - Quite feminized: frequently calls out men from the pulpit (p0rn, anger, not stepping up to take care of the women) but doesn't say a word admonishing bad female behavior (trashy romance p0rn novels/movies, emotional manipulation, reputation destruction, huge church-wide gossiping problem which the pastors themselves engage in, promiscuous attire (yoga pants, tight jeans, short skirts, and revealing tops) and behavior, etc). - Gossip gossip gossip - never been at a church with so much gossip going on which pastors not only knew about but actively participated in and encouraged - Main pastor spends vast amount of time and energy on social justice issues For instance when the first weekend the Russia/Ukraine war started, the lead pastor actually had us all choose sides from the pulpit where he declared one country the good guys and the other the bad guys and pray for one country to be victorious. Insane. As if God had given him divine knowledge of international affairs and the geopolitical insight to know more than the US State Dept. Perhaps the pastor should be Secretary of State in his free time? The entire pastoral staff are very unfriendly and cliquish. When services end, not a single pastor or leader mingles with the congregation. They all group up with the other inside folks at the farthest corner from the exits the people are leaving from and just talk amongst themselves and pat each other on the backs (no not meeting in a circle to pray or debrief, just chit chat and praise each other). Went to the church for about a year and never once had a pastor come introduce himself. I admit I didn't do to the clique corner to talk to them either, but other churches I've been to the pastors are actively going around to people they see attending and want to meet them.

They had mass today and I stopped in to check out the building and vibe. It is odd to me that photographs seem to be discouraged for some reason. I wasn't able to take any photos inside the church- just got pictures of the outside. That's fine though, I can respect the rules. The inside is just as gorgeous as the outside of this church. Which signifies how their lives have been changed since they ask God in to their lives. It was so touching to see, I could not hold back my tears. The church itself is beautiful, I've never attended mass here so I can't say how it is. The immersive experience was very nice and very informative. I love that everything here was proven with data and that there really was a man, Jesus Christ, that was crucified the way the bible is written! This shroud is a replica and from what I saw it will be on display here until 2030 with hopes of getting renewed. We all loved it! I highly recommend it!

I had made an oath and felt genuinely called to go pray. When I arrived, Mass was already in progress, but I only intended to quietly join for a few minutes. As I walked in, an older woman at the front stopped me. I was wearing a hat, which I planned to remove once I sat down, but before I could do that, she told me I wasn't allowed to enter. I asked why, explaining that I just wanted to pray and be part of the service. She refused and told me I couldn't come in. Then, she went as far as to physically hit my hat and told me I was being disrespectful. I asked again if she was seriously denying me access to join the Mass and pray, and she said yes. She told me to go to the chapel instead if I wanted to pray. I've never experienced anything like this before especially in a place that's supposed to be open to anyone seeking God. It felt wrong to be turned away like that when all I wanted was to pray and express gratitude.

The service was hosted by Christine Caine, in which she tied numbers 27 to the women's suffrage movement. Instead of making it about what it's actually about: God's character, his justice, and his attentiveness to the needs of his people. She instead took us on a nonsensical journey of women's suffrage. Based on the Bible, Christine Cain should not have an authoritative teaching position over men. Based on her teachings today, she should not have that over women either. She is misguided, and I pray that she finds a firmer foundation in Jesus instead of progressive politics. This rebuke is from somebody who loves Jesus and thinks the word of God is authoritative. I will pray that your church finds a more biblical outlook. Maybe just stick to the Gospel instead of very incoherent ramblings. It's been a long time since I've been in a church service where I felt challenged by the Holy Spirit to get up and walk out in the middle of the service risking embarrassment in which I did.
