I came to Sak's to contact Gucci due to a defect. The person made me wait 5 minutes because there was no one around to help. They took my product and said I needed ALL items in the purse before they would send it out. I then received an email from a third party for Gucci that my item was taken. A few weeks later, I contacted them again in person and was told my item needed to be sent in. When I received my product, the defect was not fixed. No one at the counter apparently double checks. The guy handed me the purse back without a bag or anything and I proceeded to look at him a little crazy -- like what about presentation?? I am giving them two stars because they had some semblance of customer service and after I asked for a bag he was now enough to give me a dust bag along with a nice bag to put it in. I walked around to look at some clothes and another employee tried to help me and was very friendly. For this reason alone, they are earning some stars instead of none. I went to another department store and they were able to take my product back and asked me NOT to keep everything there since it may get lost. I didn't have to ask for anything, and they gave me a dust bag and bag without any questions. Unfortunately, I will be going to this OTHER department in the future. read more

If I could give the place specifically the fur section a lower number I absolutely would. This was my second encounter of bad treat in San Antonio, seemingly because of race on my visit. Two ladies and myself decided we want a nice posh gift for ourselves and saw the furs and went into the store. The moment the attendant saw us, three women of color she seemed disgusted and determined to watch our every move. I have never felt so uncomfortable when I'm intending to spend so much money. Another Caucasian customer came and she smiled at her and let her shop while she remained directly behind use literally 2 ft away was her distance limit from us. My blood was boiling and one of my friends addressed it and was nearly determined racist attendant was just as rude saying that it was her job to make sure she watched us and see if we need anything even though people not of color could shop freely. I never felt so embarrassed as you knew she was watching us, she followed us from coat to coat even when told in the beginning that we will let her know if we needed any assistance or found a coat that we liked. Mind you all of the coats where at least double chained so only thing you can do is look or open it up to feel the insides to see it it feels comfortable to touch or is not too heavy. Moral of the story I would not go there again, and the older lady is a racist and unfortunate one that missed opportunity to make a lot of commission money that simply spent at another store. read more

Even though this is the only Saks (excluding Off 5th) in all of San Antonio, I must say this store has done a great job. It certainly doesn't compare to the standards of other locations (such as south coast plaza), but it's wonderful nonetheless :) They are very well organized and the staff is friendly in general. Most of the employees are willing to go out of their way to spend time with you to make the sale without being pushy. Also, this is probably the only store in this mall that doesn't get crowded! The lady attending right away offered me some water. I think they were on sale. I think 30% off. All I knew the shoes were almost $900. Glad they were on sale. And she didn't get them. I was trying to buy an agenda cover, so I walked into the Prada section asking and see if they have it. The lady said they didn't have any but maybe I should go check out Louis Vuitton. So, she took me to the Louis Vuitton section and had the staff there to help me. Both of them were chatting. one of the staff there pointed at the window and said, those are what we have. Then she walked back to chat with her co worker again. I have been to at least 30 different Louis Vuitton stores in the world, and I am very sure this is the worse place to be if you wanna buy something from LV as no one would help you at all! I called Saks San Antonio because it stocked the Michael Kors Collection dress (the last one in the entire country) that I really really needed as the Christmas gift for my mother. Shop assistant Maria answered my call and spent literally 4 hours for me to locate that dress, by checking all the dressing rooms and storage rooms in the building. She was so patient and nice to me, even though it took much of her time and it was just for a $700 dress that was on sale. What a dedication to her job and her customer! I believe it's entirely based on the locals, if you are from the area, and have consistently shopped their then they are gracious, however of you are not, but have shopped at the Boston Copley one, or King of Prussia they don't give a bit. As a Marketing Consultant traveler and a fashion blogger, I pretty much seen almost all Saks in the US. 1. ladies at the cosmetics dept- no greetings, no hello or hi, what's up or anything... when they see people coming in they will just look at you from head to toe! couple times I've been there i was wearing my Loubs I don't think that meAns I'm not approachable... but then they will rather continue chatting with their coworkers than smiling and giving greetings to the customers who are gonna share their dollars to the company that they work for. In Saks Fifth Ave (main store) Manhattan the cosmetics/fragrance clerks they Have big smiles and angel voices you will hear to welcome you in the store, give you samples, will ask you how's your day goin, some will tell your hair is shining like diamonds in the sky! Here in San Antonio location you will see nothing than clerks gossiping around, giggling with their colleagues. 2. men's shoes dept- 15 days before Christmas, I called to check for a shoes availability. A very unprofessional and lost woman name NANCY answered the phone from the men's shoes dept' I greeted her very politely and asked to check if they have the YSL shoes that I wanted to buy, her answer was "We don't do phone orders anymore because of FRAUDS!" With a angry tone like a mother screaming at her daughter to stop picking her nose in public! No greetings back or anything just an angry answer.... first of all NANCY I can buy the entire items you have in your 2nd floor and I can show you some receipts! About two weeks ago I went here for my Air Force Basic Military Training graduation with another airman friend of mine. We were in uniform also by the way. We walked in looked around the store and an employee went up to us and asked us if we were looking for the restroom. I couldn't believe what she asked and I said "Excuse me?" and she then repeated, "Are you looking for the restroom?" I was in total shock because of how rude she was especially since I was with my friend in our dress blues and I'm pretty sure I did not look like I needed to use the restroom. Ran down here on a quick road trip to accompany Mom for some returns. Absolutely the finest service I've seen in a retail establishment. Previously, the service here had been hit or miss, but today, they were firing on all cylinders. Katherine on the second floor is a true retail professional who is gracious and goes out of her way to take care of a new customer. Jason in shoes was incredibly accommodating to my mother. Save your money this place is a rip off. The salon has a list of services with the prices next to them so I wanted a pedicure that was $35 they tell me no all pedicures no matter what are $65 so I'm confused and ask them about that service price list why would it say $35 for a regular pedicure yet your charging me $65 they lady who did my pedicure said she didn't do express services. That pedicure is not on the express service so she was lying right there. I decided to go through with it even though she was lying. I then go to the back for her to do my pedicure and they don't even have the spa pedicure whirlpool chairs that massage you while you sit or have the whirlpool to soak your feet in. I was so not impressed. You soak your feet in what looks like an over sized baking mix bowl. Really save your money, this was basically robbery! read more
