I was looking for an affordable sports jacket and, after doing a lot of research, I came across K&G…read moreFashion. I decided to check it out since they seemed to have a wide selection. As soon as I walked in, I was honestly overwhelmed by how many suits they had. I walked around for a bit trying to find someone to help me, but either the associates were busy with other customers or didn't acknowledge me. Eventually, I approached one associate, and after explaining what I was looking for, he was very helpful. He found my size, the color I wanted, and was informative throughout the process. I was also happy to find out they had a special. It was actually cheaper to buy the full suit than just the jacket alone. So I ended up getting a full suit for the price I originally planned to spend on just a jacket. The issue came with alterations. Since they offer tailoring services, I asked the associate to have the suit tailored to a slim fit. He told me the jacket was fine as is, and that only the pants needed hemming. I trusted his judgment since I'm not too familiar with how suits are supposed to fit. A week later, I picked up the suit, and I wasn't thrilled with how it looked. After trying it on again, I noticed the jacket felt too big. A different associate helped me this time and agreed it needed further tailoring. I had to pay an additional $56 to get it adjusted properly. Overall, K&G is a great place to find a suit at an affordable price, but be cautious with tailoring. Don't be afraid to speak up or ask for a second opinion to make sure you're getting the fit you really want.

I RSVP'd and attended the festive event. I checked in and received a raffle ticket. You could see how they cordoned off the Beauty section as only guests w/RSVPs were allowed in the event. I could see different sections where they had demos for makeup, hair, skin, eyebrows, skincare and perfume. Angel saw me looking towards the first stop which featured Concealers and Setting Sprays by MAC & Charlotte Tillbury. She assisted me then passed me off to Lauren who helped apply some products and give tips. I showed her a list of my makeup which she had some in stock but had to ship others. When Lauren was applying my makeup, Angel was so sweet and brought me a Margie when I said "I should have a drink!" Lauren did great as she had to color-match me from several lines. She helped me find some products. Jordan from MAC came by and suggested a hydrating spray and the order of applying skincare since she said she was an Esthetician. She was bubbly, friendly, helpful and very positive! She was even giving me hugs & high fives! Now that's the Nordstrom service I'm used to! They had a DJ, Cotton Candy Margaritas, Bottled Water, Coca Cola, Charcuterie Bites, a cheesy Mac n Cheese type of dish and festive cake bites. I went to the Jo Malone section and a rep showed some fragrances. The DJ music was so loud so I walked out to get another drink and bites and came back to the Lancome station looking for a product and was helped by a woman holding raffle tickets. The main rep was busy so she helped shade-match me. I had to order online since that product was out of stock. Then she walked me towards the fragrance section. Another rep helped me as I was looking for Jasmine scents. She offered Diptyquem, Gucci, Good Girl Jasmine & Tom Ford's Jasmine. They didn't have samples for Good Girl & Tom Ford so she said to check Sephora. While checking out the scents, I heard my name being called for the raffle so I excitedly showed up to get my prize! Yay!! I went back to the fragrance rep and asked her about the Estee Lauder perfumes so she walked with me there. I was interested in a Gardenia scent so I asked if I could have a sample? She said sure and walked away. I sat for awhile waiting for her until the Estee Lauder rep told me she thinks she ended her shift?? The rep made me a sample. I thought that was inconsiderate and just a "Someone will help you momentarily..." or something to that effect would've been nice. Usually Nordstrom reps are mindful and respectful of my time. At least the Estee Lauder rep followed thru. The Beauty Trend Event was nice on a Friday evening as they're usually on a Saturday when everyone's shopping and it can get quite hectic. It was a pretty fun event and the theme of raffle stations where you can try different products was a great idea. I hope someone sends me a list of demos next time so I can prepare and check out products and reviews ahead of time. I like the convenience of being able to pick up items at Nordstrom Rack since there's one near me vs. driving all the way to Nordstrom La Cantera.

Their sizes have been consistent for years and I can trust that whatever I buy online it will definitely fit me. However, I had to return a couple things last week because I was not in love with the textile on some items, and the ladies at this location were super helpful! Frankly this was my first time at this store since pre-pandemic, and was surprised to see how small their petite section is currently. Regardless of that, I was able to find some cute items to purchase during my visit. If you are an Ann Taylor fan like myself, highly recommend getting their credit card!

Not once did she speak a word to me or my friend while we were sampling, didn't offer any assistance or even acknowledge us. I'm willing to bet that it was because we looked younger and there's this stigma (especially in the fragrance industry because I work with fragrances), that the younger audience doesn't buy anything. Not only was Norma very unwelcoming and inhospitable, I also observed her eating chocolate pretzels right in front of us while scrolling on her phone. This was a very gross and unprofessional representation of Saks Fifth Avenue and Parfums de Marly. Norma needs better training because she seemed very comfortable doing this as if she does it all the time. There is one bright side to this story though; Patricia came to assist my friend and I and actually spoke to us like we were human beings. She seemed happy to assist us and even made light conversation with us. I felt a lot more welcome speaking with her. Norma could learn from her. If Saks Fifth is comfortable with having their name and luxury brands represented so sloppily, it's only a matter of time before this location closes. Very disappointing experience.

She wasn't sure where the salon was, but the gentleman she was speaking with (he also worked there), said to follow him and he'd take me to the salon. You can't get to it directly, he said. What!? Something about while the salon is part of Saks, it's not really part of Saks. Oh, okay. Well, we go in the back area where inventory is stored, go through a couple of hallways and doors. The last door puts you outside on the sidewalk. The salon entrance is only accessible from the outside, no inside entry. Who knew? After all this, they didn't have what I was looking for. Oh, well.

So, when we read that every other room was kept empty, we just found that to be a waste of dressing rooms, especially when at one point (on our 2nd trip to the dressing room) there was a short line to get a dressing room. Why does every other room need to be empty? That doesn't make any sense at all. Other than that peculiar quirk this location is excellent. The dressing rooms were clean & so was the entire store. It was kept very organized. We looked at some swimsuit bottoms & as we walked away Christina was making sure they looked perfectly lined up on the table. (SIDENOTE: the XS swim bottoms MIGHT fit a 10/12 year old girl so if you are looking for swim bottoms for your pre teen, check out the XS bottoms at VS/Pink. We couldn't believe how tiny they were.) After we left the dressing room Adriana asked my friend how the bras worked for her. These ladies know customer service! When we were standing in a fairly long line to check out, it moved quickly.... In no time, Elise was ready to check us out. We were chatting away & didn't see her at the far end. Vanessa let us know in a kind voice that Elise would be happy to check us out when we were ready. As we walked towards Elise I apologized for not paying attention. She was smiling at us & was so nice! She could've acted irritated but she didn't. She was wonderful! We bought quite a bit so while we were checking out we had great conversation with Vanessa (pretty sure she was the Mgr) & Elise. We even chatted w another shopper w a great name.
