I get so frustrated with this store every year around Summer break. They seem quick to hire, but don't do a great job training or giving new employees trial periods. I've been shopping at this store for about 6 years. I shop for my personal wardrobe, business clothes, and dishes and textiles for my food photography business. I know most of the regular employees by name, at the very least by face, and they know me as well. On Saturday (May 2nd), I left close to $600 in merchandise at the register because of the employee's dismissive attitude while ringing it up. She not only ignored us (and everyone else) as we passed her on her way in, but also skulked around the store with a scowl that said she didn't want to be there. When we got to the register, she never greeted us, barely looked up at us, and never asked me for my Anthro Perks number. When I asked her if she would like it, she said, "I haven't asked for it yet." I shop there so much that I know the script is to greet the customer and ask, "Are you an Anthro rewards/perks member?" at the beginning of each encounter at the register. I told her she could cancel the sale, and we left. In this economy, those of us who have saved our money or choose to spend it with retailers shouldn't be left feeling like they're a nuisance. Anthropologie is not an inexpensive store. It makes no sense for us to spend money where we're treated like we don't belong. So, whoever was responsible for hiring the scowling blonde who was working at 7:30 PM on Saturday, May 2nd, should probably have her retrained or reevaluated on whether she actually wants to work there before allowing her to keep messing up your sales. read more

Anthropology?! Anthropologie! This is mostly a women's store, but they still have a fun, rustic retro kinda vibe that I can dig. They have some fun housewares stuff that usually revolves around birds or alcohol or flowers. They have a neat selection of things like drawer pulls or bookends or tchotchkes that you can put on your bookshelf or bedside table. It's all stuff that's nice to have, but with an extra cutesy yet rustic and classy design element that makes it all come together. This stuff looks like it'd be at Martha Stewart's log cabin in the woods. When I went, the place was a bit of a madhouse, but that was Black Friday. Mobs of people came crashing in for deals, and left the store in a bit of disarray. The clerks were outnumbered by customers several times over. It was packed. It is no secret that I am a self-proclaimed Crazy Dachshund Lady (CDL). What is a CDL you wonder? A women who is obsessed with her dachshund(s) and would buy anything and everything related to her pet. Well, Anthropologie is CLD heaven! Every time I visit their store, there is a new product with a cute little dachshund on it and my brain automatically tells me "you gotta buy it!". Just yesterday I was walking in the store, and they not only had one but four coffee mugs with a wiener dog on it!!! I am starting to think that Anthropologie knows about my obsession and they do this on purpose. Beside wiener dog items, Anthropologie at La Cantera has a lot of cute home decor and beautiful clothes! I totally recommend this place if you are looking for a new statement piece for your living room or kitchen. read more

At La Cantera of course there is one of these Anthropologie stores which are expensive and full of trendy boutique- style clothes mainly for women, and you'll probably find something you like, unless you prefer to dress like Barbie aka like you're going to a club party, in which case I like you and call me. read more

This afternoon, I went shopping here and had an incredibly unpleasant experience. I found a top I really wanted and got in line for the dressing room to try it on. When it was my turn, an older woman working there denied me access without any explanation and spoke to me in a rude tone. All she said was, "No. You can't try that on". When I asked why, she simply said "well" and gave me a nasty look, which made me feel terrible. She then allowed the girls behind me to go in without any issue. I've always loved Anthropologie, but after today I have no plan to go back. read more

I have never been in an Anthropologie store before and my experience was amazing. Lauren greeted us so kindly when we walked through the door I almost felt like a celebrity. Through out my time here she offered to go out of her way to help and was very pleasant to interact with. I have to admit something. I want to work here. I'd work here and be the most amazing employee, strictly for the discount ;) I've had a love for Anthropologie for the past few years, as I had one that was pretty convenient to work when I lived in Houston. I must say that the ladies here at this Anthropologie are so much more friendly, attentive (not in a "urrgh, please leave me alone already!" kind of way, but in a "let me know if I can help, maybe name is......" kind of way. I frequent La Cantera specifically for this store. It pains me though 3/4 of the time when I go because they're clothing is extremely pricey, but there are just *some* things that I cannot live without. You know, those clothing pieces or jewelry that you just really feel like you have to have? I find plenty of those here. You'll find a sense of comfort and style when you walk in Anthropologie. I find the store soothing (until I got to the register) and hear my total :) I do always, always find something good here at Anthropologie, or several good things and the sales...ohhhhh the sales! Sometimes, they're fantastical! Everything you need for your inner indie, stylish, be-yourself kind of personality is here at Anthro! I wish they carried shoes in the store, but they only carry them on line. I'm looking forward to Christmas. I've always wanted some of their PJ pants...they're so soft and airy and perfect and I've just never been able to get myself to spend that kind of money on something I sleep in, but I don't mind if someone else spends it on me ;) The plates, kitchen decor, bedding etc. are all amazing too. Any time I need a cute outfit or casual dress, Anthropologie is my first stop. You won't see the same items on other's racks and service is friendly. Occasionally, the patterns are a bit "too fun", but I almost always walk out with a great find. Dresses are usually sub $200 and tops can run from $5 (on sale- my favorite tee!) to $120. I don't think I've seen size larger than 12. In the back, there is a sale room with some great deals. In addition to clothing, they have some fun house wears, bed linens, and lounge / sleepware. Even if you don't feel like shelling out cash, check out their window displays- they consistently have a creative and beautiful storefront. read more

Always great customer service. I don't think I've ever had a bad experience at Anthropologie. The staff is always friendly and eager to help. The store is always well organized even during the crazy holiday season which makes for a pleasant shopping experience. The only reason this is NOT a 5-star-review is (much like all those reviewing before me) the fact that Anthropology is pretty pricey. It hurts my budget every time i set foot into one of these stores. I venture mainly when i see discounted items. I love the flavor, i adore thw patterns and the fact i have absolutely NO trouble finding my size (which, believe me if you will, can present a challenge back in Italy). The accessories are just the right ammount of flamboyant meet shabby chic i crave. I just wish i had sokw sort of equivalent in Europe to drool over and probably only window shop at. Those complaining about the staff not being attentive enough, i would like to point out that they discreetly approach you rather than throwing their marketing nonsense down your throat, pressuring you to make a purchase. I have always been met with a smile and, upon inquiring, always had a helping and gracious staffer at my disposal for however long it took to make my decision (whether or not it resulted in a purchase). read more

I am an Anthro-holic. It's sad, really. I hardly ever buy clothes anywhere else; I just can't help it. I go into another store and look at their boring clothes and walk right out. I travel for work and have been to a lot of malls and a lot of Anthropologie stores. This one rocks! The team was working together like a band and they made energetic fun music together. No wonder they were busy. Everyone wanted to stay, shop and buy. (From the greeter, to the team walking around talking to everyone, to the cookies and even the scent in the store.) Great experience. This is my all time favorite store.... Which can be very dangerous as it can be very expensive . But the clothes are amazing and wonderful quality . The staff was pretty good. Didn't ask me if I wanted a room until I was holding so many clothes I thought my arm would break. But once they did, they were very attentive. All in all a great day. read more
