I kept asking for lighter pressure and the masseuse basically ignored me and refused to listen because then it wouldn't be "deep tissue". I was in tears most of the massage and it felt like the longest 90 minutes and I should've just walked out but how do you when you're in that vulnerable state! Here is proof I was indeed seen by this Jeff sir. I do sincerely hope they hire better massage therapists. A client should never leave what should be a relaxing experience traumatized and in tears from 90 minutes of torture.

I had injured my shoulder very badly from an extremely heavy purse that I carried around all day. It was so bad, I couldn't raise my arm above my head and I was really worried that I would be unable to work for a few days because it hurt so bad to move it or to lift anything. I actually was contemplating going to doctor for xrays or something just to make sure I didn't dislocate it. So I go to see Leah, who I met recently and thankfully could get me in sooner than my other masseuse. I was totally amazed...this was no fluffy, puffy massage...but really a therapeutic, problem-fixing, pleasant experience. Her movements were targeted, not too heavy and never painful (I was very tender and sore). I left her office feeling worlds better than when I came in. Also, I am usually exhausted after my regular massage...but Leah's treatment left me feeling invigorated and refreshed, not groggy and out of it. For starters, I am also a massage therapist, and have been getting massages my entire life and it's really hard to make me feel unsettled during them. I usually love coming to places like this, and came in last night because my hamstrings were incredibly tight. The room was dead silent and had no music which wasn't the end of the world but made it feel a little awkward. The guy massaging me was mostly just pushing lotion around and I asked 3-4 times for more pressure, he said ok, and then didn't go any deeper. To make matters worse, I'm nearly positive he was texting through most of it. His phone would vibrate right by my head, and then suddenly he'd only have one hand kinda absently thumbing at my neck for a minute or two. He had the sheet draped almost off my butt it was so low but despite this, didn't ever work into my glutes at all. My feet were also never worked. I got him to go a bit deeper on my legs which is what I mostly needed, but again, just palm kneading. He then left, I assumed he went to get something but after ten minutes (of only an hour long massage) passed, I started to wonder if it was supposed to be over but when I lifted my head the door was wide open for anyone to walk by. Eventually, a woman came back in, grabbed the sheet so suddenly and almost pulled it entirely off of me, until it was once again, draped along the bottom of my butt. She then undraped both of my legs so the fabric was sorta just piled up between my thighs (this is an illegal drape by the way) , and used a hot towel to clean me off. Despite no one having worked my glutes, she came up under the little bit of covering, separating with her hands as she moved. I don't think it was intentional or anything of course, but the hot towel was fully touching my genitals. I've been to a lot of traditional massage places and I'm fine being entirely nude with nothing but a towel covering my butt if I feel like I can anticipate the flow of the massage and the session goes smoothly and allows me to relax and trust the therapist but this wasn't that. I'm used to the tapotement moves to wake up the body but she was fully just smacking my spine hard. She flipped me over them and I finally got some really good pressure on my head and arms but it was 5 minutes or less at that point, compressed the front of my legs but didn't uncover them. The massage ended and when I paid she reminded me that it was 70 by pointing to the sign, I said yes that's fine, she said it was also 3 dollars for using a credit card, again that's fine, and then she handed me a receipt where she ran the card for 83, ten dollars extra. I was kinda jarred at this point and just wanted to leave so didn't say anything. I was already going to tip and still did on top of that. Maybe I shouldn't have, but I still got some relief and I always tip, it was mostly habitual but feel like it was an uncomfortable, interrupted massage that I got charged extra for.
