I either got no reply to my email about it or even in one case, the shop owner said his toyota had the same issue and he wasn't sure how to fix it. American Autobody responded and told me to come by so they could take a look which I did a few days later. They seemed confident they could make it look quite a bit better so after a few months of waiting, I scheduled time to get it in the shop and also decided to have them remove a door ding from my driver's side. The door ding is completely gone and the bumper looks so much better. The people at the shop were friendly and the price wasn't bad either.
