But thankfully on special days like today 7.31.23, they had a special mass for their namesake's feast day! Father Tom Lucas is the pastor and tonight there were other Jesuits present but most importantly Fr. Tom O'Neill is leaving! He is moving to LA and I sure will miss him. I always got something so great from his homilies; his calm, gentle demeanor along with his direct statements and smile but most importantly his love for Jesus shows. Overall, this is one of the churches I frequent bc it's centrally located in Sacramento, specifically in the Arden area. I also like that it is clean and bright. It does get busy along Watt and Arden but nevertheless, it's still a nice church to go to especially after work when you just want to pray for all the patients, your colleagues and everyone else! Check out this church, there's also free parking unlike in downtown where you have to pay at the meter spots. And don't forget to admire the beautiful roses on display right alongside the brick wall of the church.

I attended this school for about two years in high school…read more Some of the teachers are not qualified for their teaching subject. To put it in perspective, my Science and Mathematics teacher from two years ago is my English teacher this year. On top of that, they seem to be underpaid and overworked as well. Of the teachers who have left, no one has yet taken their place, meaning no qualified substitute teacher has been hired. The curriculum in itself is not very good. A few of the teachers dislike it but are still made to teach it. As a student body, there are almost no clubs or extracurricular activities other than an occasional basketball or volleyball team led by a parent. There also are not any sports clubs, poetry clubs or any of the sort. Plus, lots of electives, like Chemistry, are done online instead of in a school setting. The school building itself is falling apart. It could be classified as a "ghetto" private school. The sanitation is very limited, i.e., broken toilets, cockroaches, etc. Some of the students are closed-minded and harass other students. Closed-mindedness is seen as a student does not act, like, or discuss the same things another larger group of students do, they are looked down upon with the: "That's not very Christian." To put this in perspective, if a student enjoys rock music, they are looked down upon because they do not enjoy a different genre or Christian music. Harassment is hidden with the classic: "It was just a joke!" To put this in perspective, a student will be ganged up on and made as a joke all in the name of a good laugh. Personally, it's not worth the money.

But this day was the most uneasy day I have ever had going to celebrate the day baby Jesus was born. That man stood up there and tried to tell everyone that Jesus was born in a hotel room. What the heck is he drunk or maybe he needs to reread the bible. He has got to go. I can't call him father that is why I called him That Man. I have been going to church there for almost 30 years and I have never seen him before. Something is wrong with that church if he's the father of that church. I will not be going back.

We moved here from Long Beach this summer and started at Star King which was HORRIBLE and relocated to Carmichael. We feel so so blessed we ended up at this school. No school is perfect but this is the happiest I've been with my sons progress and education. He has grown so much and was terribly behind, I will be very sad when he leaves Mrs.Thomson's class. The only thing I don't like is the foul language some of the older students use, especially around the younger kids. The little ones look up to the older kids and I wish they would be considerate a bit and keep that in mind but I can't fault the school for tweens potty mouths I suppose.
