I booked an appointment (somewhat local to the area) a month in advance, and took a day off work to make the appointment for a special celebration with my mom. I drove an hour to get there each way. when we arrived, the doormen let us know that there was a power outage but no other indication that they had limited service and the restaurant was seating for lunch. I was there 30 mins early as requested. when I walked over to the spa, they told me they werent able to provide any services due to the power outage once I asked about my 1pm appointment. while it was out of their control, the way the situation was handled was outrageous. they had known the power was out for over an hour and a half and that all appointments were cancelled, without any attempt to let me know before I arrived. to wait until I went to the desk to check in was an absolute waste of time and there was no attempt to make up for the situation whatsoever. just a simple "sorry you made it all the way out here, and I'll cancel the appointment and call to reschedule" had they handled the situation better and provided any sort of notice or attempt to make right on such a last minute cancellation, I would return, but at this point I refuse to come back. the service through the situation was disappointing. read more

I cannot recommend this spa enough! I don't have many photos because they encourage you to leave your phone in the locker. I recently went for the day to treat myself since it was my birthday. It's pricey, yes, but sooo worth it. Make sure you take the time to spend the day there! After your services they let you explore the pool and other amenities for up to two hours. I felt as if I was treated like royalty. All the staff was super friendly, and my manicure hasn't chipped for a week now. I had the Kashmere Quench Wrap, a manicure and pedicure. The body wrap was amazing it was for hydration and I really felt the benefits of it even days after. I think if you go on the weekend it might be a little more crowded but I was there on a Tuesday and there was an average amount of people. I got hungry during my pedicure and they bought me out a little snack tray. I'd love to think I'll be back in six months or so but you know it all depends on the budget lol! read more

Came to the Salamander for a 60 minute massage. They recommended to check in 2 hours prior to your massage time to utilize the spa and you can also stay another 2 hours after your massage to relax in the spa as well. Overall the experience was okay for the price. For the massage, this was my first time so I didn't have any expectations or requested anyone in particular. And the massage was okay. For the spa, there are showers, bathrooms, lockers, whirlpool, rain shower where you can choose different options such as tropical rain shower, mist etc. The water was cold and not sure if the it was working but I felt very cold in there with a lot of time where no water was coming out. There's also a sauna and outdoor pool. There's not much else to do for the total of 4 hours before and after your service time and the spa room is not that big. I probably would come again with a friend for a very special occasion but wouldn't come again by myself. read more

You cannot stay at the Salamander and Not get pampered at their spa; it would be blasphemy. Every one of the 6 ladies in our group got something a bit different: there was a Deep Tissue Massage, a Swedish massage, a body wrap, a facial, and of course, a prenatal massage for me. Not one person had something negative to say about their service...well, maybe that we all wished it would've lasted longer because the time just Flew by. Service at the spa was impeccable and we all felt pampered for sure. We loved the fruit-flavored water and Rosemary Cheddar Biscuits (reminiscent of a fancier "Cheez-It") that was offered for pre-service relaxation. After your services, you are also able to use their spa facilities for up to 2-hours (that time flies by so fast too btw). There was a spa-only outdoor-heated pool (with food and drink service available) and inside the women's room, there was a 85-degree temp whirlpool (so safe for pregnant women), a sauna, a steam room, heated chairs, a hot/cold shower, etc. Place was clean. I've been here before and had an amazing massage. I came yesterday for a girls trip and selected a facial and scalp massage. The girls loved their massages but the services I received were definitely not worth the amount I paid. There was nothing extraordinary about the services I got that I would go back for. I'd rather go to Red Door Spa (unfortunately they're not in business anymore). But seriously $90 for a scalp massage my toddler could have gave me. I have head aches and was asking that she increase the pressure but it literally felt like tiny taps. Left feeling frustrated than refreshed. read more

This review is for the "facial" I received. I did also receive a massage and it was good. I believe the woman's name is Homa. Stay far, far away from getting a facial here. Here's my experience: 1. They were aware of my lavender allergy and I even wrote this on the intake form. The towel they give you at the start of the treatment has lavender in it ( I know this bc the massage therapist identified this and didn't give it to me yet the woman who did my facial did). 2. She started by dermaplaning and was so aggressive I knew instantly she had cut me (multiple times). I was trying to be hopeful it would get better but it got so bad I literally asked her when it would be over. 3. She never washed my face after dermaplaning and went straight into the hydro facial while picking off my hair every 5 minutes. 4. Everytime she switched a serum she would just "wash" her hands in the sink and not switch gloves. She even gave me a "hand massage" and used the same gloves to continue the facial. 5. She said she was giving me a scalp massage but there was absolutely no pressure and she referenced "no greasy hands" 5 times which lead me to believe her hands were in fact, greasy. They smelled like whatever she ate for lunch that day. 6. Every product she applied burned bc I was cut so many times and after telling her this she just continued lathering on whatever she could find. 7. I finally asked to see a mirror and sure enough I could see all the cuts- she admitted she cut me (multiple times). While she did apologize and the facial was comped, this is just scary and unethical practice. There's no way this woman has any training and should be allowed to perform these services, especially at a "5 star resort". I'm beyond frustrated with Salamander and will never be returning. read more

One of the most amazing experiences that I've had. Upon entry the water falls settle you into a soothing and relaxing feel. I loved the entry way. It really sets the tone for the experience. You can enjoy a complementary hydrating beverage to get you ready to be relaxed. Check in was a breeze! Once you fill out your intake form they usher you back into the spa. There are private and open changing rooms, I am larger so the young lady brought me a 4x robe. While most would be offended I was impressed with her thoughtfulness of my comfort. As it was my first experience she showed me the amenities and took great care to point out little things. Being a POC with braids I was shown where the shower caps were. Again, most would be offended but I was not. She thought of my comfort! That's great attention to detail! I was shocked that the inside jacuzzi was low but was advised that this is for pregnant women to also enjoy. That's fair as there is a warmer hot tub outside next to the heated pool. While waiting for my massage I was ushered back into my room where a beautiful glass fire place set the stage and tone of my incandescent experience. The masseuse came through and went over my desired package (Winter Warming which included a foot bath, dry scrub, message and scalp massage) in detail. I was offered extra shoulder massage as I have braids at the time in addition I stated upfront that I didn't care for Lavender which they use a lot. Instead orange vanilla was used. The bed is electronic, warm and adjustable. I love the attention to detail that my masseuse showed. Focusing on exactly where my pain points were and using scents that I like versus the standard I had an exuberant enthralling experience. The staff was absolutely amazing. The spa is beautiful and well laid out. I had a terrible time. People are allowed to have their cell phones on them and everyone was on their phones taking pictures and selfies the entire time. It was very uncomfortable to be barely clothed and have the person next to you taking a selfie in the hot tub or talking to their friends in the phone. I brought this up to the front desk and then the manager and no one did anything. Be warned that you will not have any privacy. It was extremely upsetting and ruined my $400 spa day.I've been to many high end spas and I've never seen a cell allowed past the locker room locker. Luxurious get away with one major pitfall. It's tucked away past Aldie off of 50, not too hard to get there (literally a straight shot on 50W until you get to a single lane road). Location: the resort is beautiful. Definitely spells luxury getaway. The rooms are a bit dark but perhaps adds to the ambiance. We stayed in a Dressage suite which was very roomy. No bottled waters here, only boxed waters which I didn't mind. Interior/Tech: The light bulbs are almost all LEDs (I know they can give some people have headaches). All TVs have chrome cast capabilities and hdmi ports should you want to bring something. Fireplace: we had one in our room. Many tripadvisors recommended one. Is a MUST HAVE??? Absolutely not. The rooms have AC/heaters people. Is it a nice added touch that adds so the experience? Absolutely. If you're on a budget and can't spend the extra $150 a night (roughly the difference between their terrace and estate with fireplace), go ahead and forego it. Service: this is a tough one. I think overall, the service is FANTASTIC. Room service and housekeeping are all very respectful and timely. The concierge really goes above and beyond to make your stay excellent. The only caveat is "complimentary upgrades". It's a hit or miss. You may get a terrace to estate without fireplace upgrade, but suite upgrades are going to be YMMV. Food: Here is where the magic is lacking. Their food options Monday and Tuesday literally is the gold wine cup or gold wine up. The gold wine cup ambiance is cute - I'll give it that. But the service is slow (like, don't drink your water too fast kinda slow). Again, it wasn't too busy so I'm not sure what's going on. Room service food was decent, but like other posts stated: 22% service charge plus $4.95 delivery fee and the costs add up. Activities: there's tons of activities we got to enjoy, cupcake day was fun (it's in a stable under shade so dress warm if going in late fall/winter). There's s'mores at the fire pit (I'd rec bringing your own for price consciousness but they do give Lindt chocolate as part of their kits), spa services and kids activities services. Again, nothing for free here so expect to pay. Value: Overall, you pay for luxury, but I think there are classier ways to do it. Small example? Hot chocolate after a cold pony ride. When asked since the kids had a were literally freezing from brushing Cupcake, they said we could get it at the gold cup or harrimans. Would it really kill the bottom line if they offered a cup of hot chocolate afterwards during the colder seasons? Doubt it, given the prices for the equestrian services. Would it add to the experience that speaks "hey, we really want to make this a luxurious and hospitable experience? absolutely." One of many opportunities unfortunately. Overall, I agree with the previous ratings of 3.8 to 4. There are missed opportunities to be better, but it was a beautiful experience nonetheless. read more

The spa at the Salamander is SO nice! They really pay attention to the details and you can tell they're really careful with precautions due to COVID. Every time I've been here, I've had great service and feel really relaxed and taken care of. My fiancé and I went for a couples massage and were escorted to the locker rooms where we were provided sandals and robes. They have lockers where you put all of your belongings. The relaxation rooms are split by gender (where you wait for your service), but we each were escorted to the room for our massages right away. Having never done a couples massage before, I wasn't sure what to expect. It was really nice but I'd prefer to get an individual one (wasn't really worth it, I just listened to him snoring :P). Afterwards, we were allowed to sit by the spa pool where we enjoyed some Prosecco and lemon cookies. Definitely bring a bathing suit - the pool is 85 degrees! Also, definitely take advantage of the showers afterward. The water pressure and shampoo/soaps are SO nice. The services are pricy, but you're paying for a great experience which in my opinion is totally worth it. read more

Extremely frustrating to work with and less than stellar customer service. Called multiple times regarding a gift card inquiry only to go to VM every time. After leaving a VM, it took them 3 days to get back to me. Come to find out that they only offer physical gift cards and charge nearly $20 do ship them. Expensive, antiquated and not environmentally considering their focus on nature and outdoors. To top things off, I get an e-mail 5 days after I decide to purchase the gift card, about a sale which would have added 10% to the card value. Most places of this caliber I've done business with in the past would be understanding of the purchase and the situation but in calling the resort they promptly informed me there was nothing they could do to help around the value of the card. I wish I could take the gift card back. I only proceeded because the grounds of the resort and spa looked like the best of any I could find nearby for my friend but unfortunately the overall customer experience was severely lacking for such a high end establishment. read more

I came here two weeks ago because i have been literally aching for a massage. I am grateful to have a job that allows me to work from home but not having a proper work station takes a toll on my upper body and i felt like it was high time i treated myself to a spa day. I heard great things about this spa from a friend of mine so decided to give this place a try even though its a bit of a drive from me. I think the drive here is pretty worth it given its beautiful out right now with the leaves changing colors and Middleburg is such a pretty rural town that half the fun is driving through the area, checking out the farms and wineries and ooohing when coming onto Salamander Resort's expansive property. I opted for the cbd massage because i heard it was relaxing and would help with the soreness in my problem areas. My massage therapist, Amy, was the sweetest person ever and asked me about my concerns. We also struck up a friendly conversation but I did not feel obliged to talk to fill in the silence which is always great. I highly recommend her and would definetly ask for her when i go back. The whole experience was great from the check-in to the assigned lockers, space where you can wait and relax before your massage therapist gets you and then the heated chairs. They have an amazing shower facility and a indoor hot tub (which was closed at that time), also an outside heated pool with cabanas. Amy reserved a private cabana for me but since it was pretty cool that day and a little later in day, i decided to chill on the heated chairs inside instead of the outdoors pool. The price point is a bit on the expensive side but you pay for the amenities and the experience which makes it well worth it. read more

So I decided to treat myself a bit more for my birthday this year. Now I will say this place is pretty upscale with prices to match but it is Middleburg after all where there are quite a few people out there who are quite well to do. So when you arrive a the resort follow the signs for parking they do have valet or self parking options, I chose the self parking option due to the price tag that I was splurging on. But it was worth it. So if you're not sure where you're going staff will gladly and happily point you in the right direction. Since it was my first time I had to fill out a brief questionnaire and then one of the "faciliators" aka spa attendants took me back to the women's area. So I knocked of a star since the lockers were a total pain to use each time I went into my locker it took me several tries to get in, later I realized it was user error on my part. Thankfully the steam room, hot tub, and the experience shower were all in working order. Of note the hot tub in the women's area is more heated to body temperature so, I wouldn't call it a hot tub exactly. There is more of a traditional temperature hot tub in the outdoor area, that also has a heated pool and plenty of areas to sit outside. The day I was there it was a bit chilly so my time outdoors was in the pool and the hot tub with a quick walk back indoors. If you want to enjoy the amenities before/after your spa time, I'd recommend adding 1-1.5 hours to your day, the indoor facilities aren't huge but I was still able to enjoy them even though it seemed like there were a good number of people there on the day I was at the spa. I did one of their seasonal treatments which was terrific!!! I would highly recommend. The massage therapist explained the entire process in great detail and the products they used you could just tell were top quality. After my treatment was done and I had already used the other amenities it was time for me to get cleaned up and ready. They have showers with razors, shaving cream, shampoo/conditioner, and body wash available for use. This spa was by fair one of the best spas I have ever been to. The close attention to detail as well as the knowledgeable staff made my experience a very memorable one. Jessica was lovely, accommodating, and very knowledgeable about the products she was using. She was also very gentle yet thorough with my nails and didn't annihilate my cuticles. I enjoyed the accommodations of Salamander Resort & Spa for New Years' weekend. Regarding the services at the spa, it was immaculate beginning with check-in. The customer service was superb, the check-in process was seamless and the tour was great. It was very clean, quiet and relaxing. My massage therapist, Kenny, was extremely professional and accommodating. He listened attentively to what I needed and obliged. The 80-minute Swedish massage totally relaxed my body for the remainder of the day. Although the spa was pricey ($300), it was well worth every penny. This is an interesting place. It's a contrast in good/bad experiences. The good: The desk staff were very helpful. We showed up early and they got us a room within half an hour. They really didn't have to, so that was nice. The resort is well designed, everything's clean, the rooms (at least ours) seem to be furnished well. And they are dog friendly. Which is rare around the DC area. They put a dog bed in the room and put you on the ground floor so you can go out a French door right onto the lawn and close to the woods. Much better than leading a dog into the elevator and through the building. The spa was nice. Whatever problems they had before are resolved. The steam room worked perfectly, the hot tub in the locker room was as it should have been. The service staff (masseuses, manicurists, etc) were knowledgeable, friendly, and say they like working there. I believe it. Apparently Sheila Johnson treats them pretty well. The bad: The food. There wasn't an easy way to grab a midday bite. They have one restaurant and a bar and for all practical purposes you need a reservation for everything, even breakfast. The food was okay. Not great, not memorable, but edible. The biggest problem is the cost of everything. The resort itself seems to be about 25% too high compared to similar facilities I've stayed at in California and elsewhere. I think they're modeling their pricing after Homestead and Greenbriar, which is not fair because those two have tons and tons of outdoor and indoor activities. Salamander has a couple of bikes. Adventures are not their strong suit. For example, even though Middleburg is ground zero horse country, they don't offer trail rides. Which is odd. They do have a midget horse they trot out for kids. The thing that I'm still angry about is petty, but nonetheless. The wait staff are constantly upselling. It's annoying. At breakfast we were asked whether we wanted still or sparkling. Many restaurants now have soda stream-like bubbly water for a nominal price and I thought it might be one of those. Not Salamander. The guy brought over an imported bottle of British sparkling water, which I later found out was $13. And to make matters worse, he kept pouring it into our glasses whether we wanted him to or not (we didn't), until the bottle was empty within ten minutes. He then cheerfully suggested he bring another one. At this point, my mental alarms went off and we turned him down. On a similar note, the wine list at dinner is okay, but IMHO about a 5X markup. Most fine dining places are 4X. DC doesn't have any good spas, except arguably the Four Seasons. The Mandarin, interestingly enough, was also bought by Salamander. I didn't stay there, but did use the spa, which was significantly below the level of quality as the Middleburg facility. I would recommend going there. It was a good experience overall and other than the food, it was a luxury experience. read more

What a treat! Service is impeccable and you will leave feeling so refreshed and pampered. While you wait for your appointment, or after your appointment, you have access to the spa's indoor and outdoor facilities. The indoor facility consists of saunas, a whirlpool, showers, and heated reclining seats. Outside you have the infinity pool, a fire pit, and the hot tub. In between the indoor and outdoor facilities is the waiting room, where you can snack on cheese crackers and pretzels while you wait for your masseuse. I got the deep tissue massage with the scalp massage add-on and it was sooooo relaxing. I loved how my masseuse started with a consultation to identify pain points to focus on. At the end of the appointment, I felt like a noodle and I headed straight to the hot tub to relax. My hubby and I went for his birthday to get swedish massages. My massuase was "Sua" from Korea and she was awesome! She was receptive to my pressure needs, chatted with me when was appropriate, and found the real sore spots on which to focus. I've probably had 10 massages in my lifetime and she was my favorite!!! I didn't give the spa five stars because 1) the women's mist room was out-of-order. You're a freaking resort - fix it. Or at least give ladies discounts if we can't access the so-called amenities. Anyway, it seemed like something a tacky low brow spa would do. 2) Go on the weekdays - less crowded - except when the loud hill school mom's decide to relive their glory days. It's not avoidable, but when you're trying to relax with your husband on a special trip, the last thing you want to do is listen to the privileged complainers. 3) It's still really expensive so we probably won't go again for a while... The 22% mandatory "tip" is something I still struggle to understand. It was appropriate for my massage but afterwards, between broken facilities and inconsiderate guests, the place was kind of a circus. read more

I've been going to Salamander quarterly for the past two years or so and I've noticed starkly inconsistent experiences. During the most recent visit I was placed with a not-so-great massage therapist on a squeaky table who (very mildly) burned me with a hot wash cloth. The spa was slammed - people coming and going nonstop. Seemingly flustered and annoyed staff. Not a great time. Other times I've been there and had a fantastic massage and an all around lovely time. The spa facility and grounds are wonderful and I left feeling like it was worth the hour drive to get there. The thing is, it's too far and too expensive to not know whether you're going to have a nice experience or a crappy one. I plan to go somewhere else from now on. read more

At the Salamander Resort and Spa, luxury comes with a price, but in the case of the spa, it's totally worth it. You begin in the lounge area where there's a nice fireplace, a large window that overlooks the countryside, and they usually feature some antioxidant-laced water (this is just the entry area, where you fill out any required paperwork). Then, they take you back to the actual spa area. I highly recommend taking time either before or after your appointment to enjoy the facilities. They have an indoor pool with a waterfall and ceiling with cool little "starlights", two heated chaise lounges, a large eucalyptus steam room (again with the cool little "starlights" on the ceiling, not gonna lie, can't get enough of those), and an "experience shower" where you can pick 'experiences' such as a thunderstorm, rain shower, etc. - very cool, immersing experience with sounds, changes in temperature, water pressure, etc. Then, you head to the women's relaxation lounge where there are 5 comfy lounges, nuts, tea, flavored water, magazines, a nice fireplace, and more large windows overlooking the countryside. It's one of the nicest spa lounges I've ever been in (men's one is nice too, I took a peek - it's smaller and doesn't have any windows, but does feature the snacks and fireplace). Now, I've only been to this spa twice and done the same treatment - couples massage - and while it's the most expensive one I've ever done, I think it's totally worth it. You get to spend 30 minutes beforehand in the couples suite, which features a huge walk in shower with jets, a clawfoot tub, and an outdoor hot tub. On this particular visit, we spent our time in the outdoor hot tub - it was about 45 degrees out so not super cold going inside and out and the water felt great. Back inside, there's a fireplace that separates the shower/tub area from the massage area. Both times, my husband and I have found the masseuses to be excellent - professional, definitely attending to our requests, and overall giving damn good massages. It's a place I'd absolutely frequent more if I could - but I never pass up a chance to go. If you are looking for a top-notch experience, I highly recommend Salamander Spa. read more

I'm here right now and let me tell you - conditions of the facilities deteriorated completely. Steam room is still out of service, with no estimate of the date for repairs. Indoor "Hot" tub is lukewarm, half the jets do not work and the tiles feel slimy. When I opened my assigned locker, there was an active water leak streaming down the wall (opened the locker above thinking maybe someone spilled something, but nope! I'm suspecting another maintenance issue). It is completely unacceptable for a so-called 5-star resorts to keep their spa in this condition. We have been coming here for years and it almost seems that someone finally gave up on managing this spa. No wonder is was so easy to get appointment on a Saturday with a short notice. Clients SHOILD BE INFORMED of the numerous facilities failures at the time they are making an appointment so they can make an informed choice. But nope. Just "you are welcome to use our facilities.." I have never been more disappointed, I went to celebrate my 50th birthday, I was rushed out of the room because they were over booked on Christmas Eve. I was basically told we are over committed and need to turn the room over. I left the room quickly and went to the whirlpool and it was cold, when I asked about the temperature along with others we were told that they will check and be right back so I decided to warm up in the sauna which was cold as well. I went to the front desk to ask for the manager and no manager came to the desk but was told we will look into it, the other employee stated it was broken yesterday and it was suppose to be fixed, and that was that I drove 2.5 hours rushed out with no please come back to enjoy the amenities at another time, never seen a manager. I called 6-10 times leaving messages and still have not received a call back in 3 days. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! read more

I called 6 or 7 times on 3 different days consecutively, only picked up once to rudely transfer me to their non-existent booking agency. Other than that the place looks nice since I had to visit just to talk to someone and then get completely rejected, and after complaining. They kindly took my information down and made me feel very comfortable as they lied to me that they'd try their absolute best to call me back in any case of a cancellation. This spa is my happy place! I come here and I get all warm and fuzzy on the inside. The masseuses here are top notch! After my massages I'm not left with bruises or soreness. During my last visit I actually started to fall asleep during my massage and was awakened by my own snoring. Ha! A major plus about this spa: I take full advantage of the amenities while I'm here, which includes lounging by the outdoor pool, drinking up their Morroccan mint tea, and getting my steam on (which also works wonders on my hair). It's a little pricy but the amenities and the professionalism of the staff makes it all worth every dime. read more

If I could give 3.5 stars, I would. The spa is lovely. I especially liked the eucalyptus steam room and the hot tub. Everyone is extremely friendly and helpful. I had a facial and a massage. My biggest complaint for both is that they pick you up from the waiting room 1-2 minutes after the appointment time. When you arrive in the room, they talk to you about your preferences and concerns. All of this is taking away from the treatment time. I probably had 10-15 minutes cut from my massage. This was the second time I had a facial here. The first one was wonderful but the second one (same type of facial) didn't compare. At one point the technician was just kind of pacing the room to "let the product soak in". I was surprised that she used the time to take a break rather than to massage the product into my skin or give me a neck/scalp massage. She also was inconsistent with the treatment, sometimes missing whole portions of my face and neck. I was really bummed that I had to use the bathroom in the middle of the treatment since it would take away from the treatment time but astonishingly, the facial still ended a few minutes early. I really enjoyed the whole spa experience and came out feeling amazing but I do feel like they are not delivering on point for the price. I'd probably do it again but I will be more likely to take a trip to other spas because of these things. They take a 22% gratuity. read more

The resort and spa felt very safe during this unprecedented time. The spa was relaxing and beautiful. I would like to praise Alison Spray's customer service. She provided an amazing prenatal massage and provided comfort for a nervous new mother. When she learned that I had not brought a body pillow and was enjoying the pillow used during the massage, she put aside the body pillow and sent it to the room for the duration of my stay. This is one of the most thoughtful gestures and goes above and beyond what is expected from a massage therapist. read more

The spa itself is beautiful and I enjoyed using the spotless facilities prior to my treatment of a swedish massage. My therapist Sua was incredible and did a phenomenal job of removing some gnarly and deeply held knots and stress in my muscles, I cannot recommend her more highly. Great service, professionalism and a lovely experience until I came out of my treatment. I must have been the last person in the spa because the food was wrapped up, all of the infused waters and tea had been taken away and I felt like buzzards were circling me to get me out of the women's locker room as they went about obviously resetting for the next day. Part of the spa experience is the time after the treatment, and I enjoy having my water after my massage and being allowed to relax and enjoy the amenities and get ready without feeling rushed. The entire purpose of a spa experience is to leave such cares behind and it is truly sad that rather then walk out floating on cloud nine I left feeling like my spa experience was lacking. Such a simple detail to get right and at this price point I find being rushed out of the facility following a treatment unacceptable. It is highly doubtful that I will return, which makes me sad as I loved the rest of the experience. As a final note, I was not asked how everything was during my visit. Had I been asked I would have let the staff know of my disappointment, but lacking that concern for my enjoyment of the experience I have decided to leave a Yelp review. In closing, a facility of this level should have higher standards of customer service and I am just sad such a lovely experience had to be marred by preventable errors. read more

Great experience, beautiful spa and grounds! I took advantage of the weekday Travelzoo discount and had the opportunity to enjoy a 50min massage! We were greeted by Mady - she had fantastic customer service, showed us around the spa and helped answer our questions. Massage by Tiffany was also wonderful. I was treated to a day at the Salamander spa, so I decided to update my look. I wish I hadn't - my hair looks TERRIBLE and now I have to pay someone else to fix it. Thank goodness I didn't have to personally pay the over $400 tab to look this bad... I am embarrassed to go out in public, counting the minutes until this mess is corrected by a stylist who knows what they're doing. Excellent service. Prices are high. Massage tables are great. Due to covid most of the APA amenities are closed but the prices haven't budged. They could stand to decrease the price since the over all experience isn't close to what it is when the spa is fully open. If this is your first time you may not notice. But it's 110% better when everything is open. read more
