A little advice; make sure you spray the cabin down really really well cause we brought back bed bugs and had to throw things away to get rid of them. That was a first experiencing bed bugs. Reminds me of chicken pox, and no sir you don't want any parts of that. Other than that I would of have them a higher rating.

The campground itself it very nice and maintained, there could be more amenities for kids to have something to do, since there isn't alot of local attractions nearby to entertain small kids or teenagers. Honestly, never met a better staff and I have stayed in alot of different campgrounds due to traveling for work. Again, just more activities and things for kids like mini golf, splash pads, or anything family oriented really would be the only thing to top off such a wonderful place to stay.

Was an Understatement. Monday through Thursday was completely Miserable Heat temp related. At night sitting in the Trailer with the AC running full blast, I was Still Sweating my Ars off. Had a really Severe Storm pass through there on Friday evening. Wind, Rain, Hail etc. tree debris was falling all around. We left to take our Grandson to a church we used to go to when we lived down there around 5:30 PM. Evidently just after we left they had power Failure at the Park. We returned a little after 9:00 PM to find the Power out. So we just got ready for bed. I'm so thankful that Friday was a lot Cooler. We left the Windows open creating a cross wind. We got up in the Morning and squared everything away and hooked up. We were on the road by 8:30 & back in Virginia about 11:30. AM. (Scheduled return day). The Power still was not back on. The Host had reported it at 5:46pm. Any way. Kudos to the Park. 5 nights $190 total, $38 a night. Very Clean bath House was clean and cleaned regularly. My only Complaint was there was no AC or Dehumidifier in it. The Had Three RV Host Trailers. So very good Host Coverage. Just Thanks from Us. P. S. The power outage was only a miner set back but was okay and in no way related to the Park or it's Control.

Shady and paved, FHU with asphalt landing and gravel/grass perimeter and a picnic table at each site. Fair amount of green space around and between each row and site, quiet and peaceful. A large perimeter drive/walk around, inside the park. Sits at a deadend so no through traffic. Has private security every night patrol the park. Make reservations online only, and charges a service fee to pay for it? No veteran discounts or membership discounts, it is what it is. Just and FYI Great hosts at this facility, there are a group of long term hosts that know the park very well, will lend a hand when need be and keep the place pristine daily. Some sites are more level than others, some definitely require blocks and extra leveling skills and knowledge. If you are a large rig (over 35') and unfamiliar with the layout, I would suggest a drive through at least once to see what you are working with. Only one pull through site, all others are back ins. Bathouse, dumpsters and a dump station are provided, all sites are full hook up. 20/30/50amp pedestals with good water and sewer lines all within a few feet of each other. There are a lot of things within the Tanglewood complex, a swimming center, horse stables, a huge dog park, hike and bike trails, sports fields and the RV grounds. Lots of services within a half mile or so, fuel, supplies, groceries, and restaurants all within five minutes or so of the property. Only allowed 14 days within a 30 day time period, and can reserve spaces up to six months in advance. Only about forty or so sites. 4 Stars a solid choice for a nice overnight or longer 01264

Our homebase closed temporarily and they worked with us to extend our stay until our place reopened. The sites are mostly wooded, with additional open air sites. They have drive thru sites too. The sites are a good size and very well maintained from the site itself to the hookups. They have walking trails, a playground and a pool. You will also have a laundry facility (very clean!!!) and a bath house (those are very clean as well). It also looks like they are expanding - adding more open sites and another bath house/laundry facility. It's so peaceful here! Parents can feel safe letting the kids ride/walk around. There are signs stating that children have the right of way.

They definitely keep the area clean, everyone has their own rubbish receptacle, very quiet, well designed, beautiful scenery in the woods and the layout is country cute! Cons: water pressure is a little low, and the laundrette is a little rough, the machines are dirty and overpriced ($1.75 for wash, but $3.50 to dry) with 2 out of order. Would not hesitate to stay again.

Highlights - Great place to walk, run, bike or walk your…read moredogs - Restaurants and places to get a drink are not far off the Strollway - Old Salem section is great - Runs from 4th Street to the Greenway The Downtown Strollway runs from Salem Avenue, past Old Salem and into downtown, ending (or beginning) on 4th Street. Great trail for walking, running, walking the dogs or riding a bike. The Old Salem section of the Strollway is a 5 star. The trail takes you right past Old Salem. You will pass right by the Old Salem Visitors Center and the Heritage Bridge. You can cross over the street using the bridge and visit Old Salem if you like. The trail in this section is wide enough for all people coming and going. If you follow the Strollway south you will end up at the Greenway, which you can take to Winston-Salem State or Salem Lake to the west, or Washington Park to the east, but that is another review. You do have to cross over a busy street (Salem Avenue) but there is a nice wine shop on the other side. The northern route past Old Salem takes you to downtown and ends at 4th Street. This takes you under Business 40 and past Corpening Plaza park. Nice part of this section is you end up right into the heart of all of the downtown restaurants on 4th Street. This section requires crossing 3 streets in downtown. The only reason I don't have the Strollway rated 5 stars is the section running under Business 40 can be a little sketchy. This will change after the Business 40 renovations are completed.

They did a good job of answering my questions when I booked since I was a first timer. The place has a calm vibe and everyone was really nice. The sauna is small so I was in it by myself for 30 minutes. They have a privacy screen and a light color benefit. It was very relaxing and I was enjoying trying the different light colors. The cave holds about 8 people and you sit in a reclining chair. It is dark and they play meditation music. I really enjoyed this part. I was very relaxed and did feel energized. I had some tea after. I would come back in the future.
