Wine in hand, we picked up just about every item in the gift shop and dreamt of a checked bag to stow it all away in. We meandered out to the tent and cozied around a fire pit to savor our glasses of wine. Back to my dreams of a checked bag: If I'd brought one, it'd be full of bottles of that exact cranberry wine and just enough bubble wrap to ensure safe transport. Our view was faintly lit by dainty string lights cheering up the out-of-season rows of grapes running up the hillside. My mom and I decided this would be a stunning wedding venue and got to pretend planning. I could've sat around that fire, sipping wine and chatting with mi familia, until I was old and gray. Truro Vineyards was the actualization of my every desire for a glass of cranberry vino, and I will remember it for time and eternity!

If you can't bring home any wine, the shop has great wine accessories and vineyard merchandise that I wish I got. Luckily, we each got to keep our Truro wine glass for more sipping in the future.

I lingered with a glass, reading my book while soulful music softly played, quiet conversations among the few other patrons drifted in and out of my consciousness, and the plaintive cries of seagulls outside were occasionally audible. Whimsical posters dressed up the plain but cozy room (a rabbit in a pink bathrobe holding a bottle of champagne and divers leaping into a wine glass). I could have spent all afternoon there, reading and sipping. But I had places to be. If I stayed longer I might have tried some of the food. It's more in the line of light snacks than an actual meal, mostly cold, but they were more interesting than the standard charcuterie plate offered by similar venues, and I liked that they listed the country or state of origin of everything. For dessert, how about a slice of cheesecake from Chill's of Warren, RI - or a flight of 3 for $21! Beer lovers, don't fear Coastal Bubbles. Menu listed five, all of which I've never heard of, from Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maine, and Portugal, sure to interest the connoisseur. The menu that day included 25 wines by the glass. Their high-tech "Coravin System" keeps the open bottles fresh, and my Croation Matsuško was flawless in that respect. Port lovers might try the "100 Years Of Port Flight": the 10, 20, 30, and 40 year vintages of Van Zellers. I'll be doing that next time, with the cheesecake.

The indoor space allowed for 8-10 round tables and chairs to fit comfortably with display tables and space for catering. The outdoor space had a large event tent, beautiful patio and large, grassy yard just off of Choate Pond! Such a beautiful venue with incredible back drop. Very quiet location and an added plus is that it is very handicap friendly. We could not have been more surprised and pleased with our event and would highly recommend hosting an event here! We searched low and high for an affordable wedding venue on the Cape and couldn't have been happier…read morewith the Wequaquet Lake Yacht Club. Working with Dawn, the event coordinator was such a wonderful experience. The WLYC sits right on Wequaquet Lake, making it a dreamy backdrop for all of our pictures. Every single person we interacted with (especially Dawn) at WLYC was genuinely kind and helpful throughout the entire process, we never felt like we were just another wedding. We were able to bring in our own catering and use their kitchen. Part of their contract is to use their bar and bartenders (who were amazing, our guests raved about them!), fortunately their alcohol was very reasonably priced. The whole dining room faces the lake and large windows run the length of the room, there was plenty of space for all of our (17) tables and still room for dancing! They done a number of renovations over the past few years, giving the dining and entry rooms a beautiful facelift (and a higher ceiling) without losing any of the Cape yacht club charm. This venue is amazing whether or not you're planning your event on a budget (but especially if you are). Check it out, talk to Dawn, you will not regret it!

The kids had the most incredible time with such a fantastic variety of activities: they created their own art pieces, belted out songs during karaoke, played fun games, got to hold and interact with a pet snake (which was a huge hit!), and jammed out with musical instruments. Every child left buzzing with excitement--no one was bored for a second! What made it truly stress-free for me as a parent was how seamless everything was. Lauren and Shelby handled all the setup and breakdown--I literally walked in, set out some food, and walked out when it was over. No cleaning, no rushing around, no chaos. They made the entire process effortless so I could actually enjoy the day and focus on my son. Lauren and Shelby are pure magic with kids! They're energetic, engaging, patient, and genuinely fun--they kept the energy high and made every moment special. The space is creative, welcoming, and perfectly set up for kids to let loose and have a blast. We also absolutely love attending their other events and regularly scheduled activities at O'playsis. Whether it's toddler/preschool mornings, STEAM play sessions, art workshops, music lounges, or any of the community events they put on, everything they host is top-notch--creative, welcoming, and full of joy for all ages.
