Stopped in here between bands at the Jazz Fest. I think I was there a long time ago... but this little bar is great! They have a full bar: wine, beer, liquor. It was packed because of the Jazz Fest but man.. we did not have to wait more than 5 minutes for our drinks! We ordered at the bar and one of the gals came over to deliver. Now that's service! There's a bunch of stuff to do... some arcade games and darts. There's a dining section on the other side of the wall, as well as some outdoor seating. Note: ladies room is small and the stall on one side is in the dark lol... so ladies beware haha! Going to be back there for sure and this time we'll grab some food!

    Dart boards in the back

Not normally a bar I'd frequent, but now after visiting, I'll be back when the mood fits. We were there on a Saturday -- SU was playing Duke so everyone was rocking their orange tees. We grabbed some brews and headed to the back where there were dart boards (friends played), we watched them, and got sucked into the game. It was nice that they put the volume on so everyone could follow what was happening. After the game, the music went back on. There are seats and tables for sitting back there too along with pool. They even have a vintage cigarette machine -- I haven't seen one of those in a while. Even though I don't smoke it was still cool to see (FYI takes only exact change). It's much larger than I expected so there's room for people to move beyond the bar, which filled up first. At 8pm it wasn't too packed, but by 10pm it was semi-crowded. They have a good tap selection and cheap! I enjoyed a few Lagunitas IPAs. Lots of peanuts and popcorn for munching.

I love Salinger's for what it is, a classy dive like bar. This isn't your Murphy's Law, or One type place. It's a casual, hang out with great people and great drinks. It's usually not overly crowded and can easily get a drink here. They recently expanded the place with blowing out the left wall that allowed more tables and places to talk. Part of the reason they expanded is they plan to have an in-house kitchen that will offer the typical bar food, but will highlighted by their own smoked meats! They also have a few dart boards and a pool table for entertainment. What I absolutely love at Salinger's is the large variety of beer and drink specials at ridiculous cheap prices. First they have Moosehead larger. Having grown up in Buffalo, I frequented crossing the northern border and discovering one of Canada's more unknown treasures. I recommend it, and I've never seen it in the US. Secondly they have these great craft beers bottles at $2 on a Friday and Saturday nights!! I've seen no places like it! Try: Moosehead, McSorley's Black, Seadog blueberry and Purple haze. It's one of my favorite bars in the entire 585.

So first off the old mill is a really cool location. Still has some of the old millworks inside…read more Lots of cool spaces as opposed to one big open room. There was a youth softball team celebrating the end of the season upstairs so it was a bit loud, but fun. It's right on the creek and there's plenty of outside seating and picnic tables so if the weathers nice you can get your food and beverages and head outside. The bar tenders were all good, let us try a couple samples to make sure we were gonna like what we ordered. There's a separate spot to order food and the young girls working the food spot were unenthusiastic... We ordered the chorizo poutine, Roni Stark Pizza and Tampa Bay Bustdown burger. The pizza was good, honey drizzle was a nice touch, but the poutine and burger were the clear winners. Chorizo gravy had a good kick, and there were big chunks of cheese curd, nice. The burger had 2 smashed patties, nice crispy edges and a ton of flavor. The Gouda cheese and bacon they are using are both high quality. A lot of variety of beers on tap, not all IPAs which was nice for someone that isn't an IPA guy. Tried 2 lager, an ale and a pilsner they had on tap and I'd drink any of them again.

Ample space both upstairs and downstairs. + 2 of the 4 sours I had were decent. + Great for kiddos as they have an outdoor space that's family and dog friendly. It was very busy the day we went with a fun atmosphere outside. + Historic venue with a nice restoration for the brewery. The less great: + The setup means long waits. Having to wait in line for beers in a completely packed brewery with two bartenders is not a way to run a business. They need to consider a new strategy for ensuring they can accommodate the volume they are currently doing. + Had a bite of someone's burger and found it more or less inedible. + My parents had attempted to organize a large family gathering on the day we were there and while I wasn't involved in the planning, there seemed to be missteps and miscommunications along the way that weren't met with much empathy or customer service in mind. Too many great breweries in Rochester to waste time on spots that aren't going to ensure guest satisfaction. Great location though! This place is so, so busy it's obvious the east side isn't brewery saturated (somehow) quite yet.

Joey's is the ideal neighborhood bar spot. It's good for a quiet and sunny drink on the way home from work, a let's-close-this-place-down bender after a rockin' night watching Harry Potter at the RPO, or a packed-to-the-brim Halloween costume contest (the second place prize still hangs in my den). I'm never disappointed with the draft list--there always seems to be something new and interesting, as well as reliable standbys. They post to beermenus, and you can subscribe to e-mail updates. Food can be ordered from Richmond's across the street (sometimes they have awesome seasoned fries) or from Schiano's pizza (they'll deliver!). There are also abundant cheese puff balls at the bar, if you are so inclined (spoiler alert: you are). Go to Joey's. If you are reading this while currently at Joey's, stay at Joey's.

All I will say, is that it was worth it. The place and the menu are pretty cool/chill. Plenty of seating with firepit style table tops, extremely dog friendly, self serve water, and food/drink selections were great too. The waitress was very sweet, but was obviously overworked and busy too. She apologized and gave us free drink tokens and comped us a side order of garlic fries after they ran out of side salads. None of that was her fault, but it shows how the employees and establishment care about their valued costumers. We had the veggie focaccia, garlic fries, and buffalo parm wings (they were huge). No complaints on the quality of food or the portion size since we had more than enough to take stuff home. We will definitely come back. I live only a few minutes away by foot! I don't know why I never came here sooner! Highly recommend

The outdoor tables and indoor space are both equally inviting. Big bonus on air conditioning on a super hot summer day. The beers were delicious. My fave hands down was the Tropical Crushed Fruited NEIPA. What a special beer! But definitely take advantage of the smaller pour sizes and have a few different types. The food was great but the standout item was the Warm Cookie & Ice Cream. I'm going to be dreaming about this until I can return!
