I can't believe it I have to already update my last review for Sally's Beauty. But when I am wrong I have to let you know. On my last visit I did notice they carried blow dryers. So this morning I go to dry my hair and my blow dryer's cord ignites on fire. So after I leave for work with wet hair on a rainy day I think what to do. Immediately I remembered Sally's Beauty in Oakwood Plaza. So on the way home I stop by. Very large assortment I chose a better one that is ceramic with high speed so to dry my hair quickly as it is getting long and usually slow to dry. The price points varied the one I chose was on sale at $74.99 and has a 60 day in store warranty and than there is a warranty for the manufacturer. Great price and dried my hair great. read more

Since I was staying here in the area, I thought I would check it out. I have been to several Sally's around the country now. It was right across the street from my hotel. I came in and it was not as fancy as many of the other Sally's. In fact I did not even see anyone out on the floor at all. I later found the lady running the register sitting on the floor behind the counter. She was alright ,she was just hanging out. Hey, doesn't bother me. Anyway, my membership had run out a few months ago. So I thought I would renew it while I was there. By this time there was another girl helping at the register. I purchased a few items and bought my renewal. You have a membership here because, then you get $$ off all your purchases. It is not required to have one. But, I am all in to saving cash for sure. Not my favorite store (this location) but, I do like Sally's. I did notice they speak in Spanish here a lot. When they talk amongst themselves. I know that it seems English is no longer the given language any where you , but remember a lot of us do understand Spanish. So be careful what you say. Bought a $50 blow dryer that was reduced to 0.49 but they said it was a mistake so I spent the 50 and when I get home it's a different blow dryer, go back to the store to return it and they tell me no. Customer service told me to go home and get the right dryer and they'll return it and it wasn't even i nice blow dryer t was a plastic cheap one so I spent 50 bucks on something that's not worth more then $10 good job Sally's I see how you've been able to stay in business all these years. read more

I don't shop at Sally's often. I am a self professed bum, who likes someone else to do stuff to me, as apposed to doing it myself. Meh. So sue me. This weekend though I wanted to try something new. I was inspired to play around with funky nail polishes. I was in the are, googled the nearest Sally and there I went. I walk in and start looking around. As I inspect the nail polishes, a woman asks a young sales girl for assistance. Number one, the salesgirl was very snippy with the customer. The woman noticed but was entirely too polite to say anything. When she asked for a specific brand of product, the sales girl could not pronounce it nor understand what the customer was asking fro and proceeded to speak about the lady in spanish. I was floored. The customer figured out who they were talking about, turned red and proceeded to walk out of the store. I wanted to reach through the isles and slap some manners into her...but alas none of my concern I guess. Then I mosey over and ask what the price is on specific nail polishes. I was so distracted I did not notice the itty bitty label, stating the different prices. My bad for asking for assistance. The same sales girl came over, eyes rolling to tell me the prices and as she walked away, lets me know in a rude manner where I can find the prices so I dont have to ask again. She then proceeded to begin singing loudly and speaking of the lady that had just walked out and myself in spanish. I walked over, ready to knock some sense into her and told her in spanish that I understood her and that what she was saying was inappropriate. She asked in a rude, head snapping, chonga, way how she had been rude. And that she could say what she wanted. I turned around and told her that we were customers, willing to spend our money, but that she had turned us both off in doing so. I asked for her name, which she refused to give, I asked for the manager, but was not there, (the assistant one was) and the whole entire time the sales girl (with long, light brown wavy, hair) kept running her mouth. First of all, I will NEVER shop there again. Second, you should speak the language, ENGLISH, and most importantly, RESPECT YOUR CUSTOMERS!!! That entire store gives us Latinos a bad name. I usually do not shop around beauty supply stores- and this particular situation was not an exception. For some reason my wife does not like to handle returns and requested I assist her on this jaunt. I didn't see any reason why I would have to accompany her, as she purchased the item (an ill-made hair dryer) only 1 day prior. Basically the way the dryer was made, as you use it, your hand hits the power button and the dryer shuts off. Additionally, the brush extension was wobbly and fell off constantly. Now, I don't blow dry my hair, but I can imagine that this dryer just added irritation to an already menial task. I was seriously taken aback when the manager said that there was nothing that she could do. At first, my wife looked around to see if there was anything in the store that she would like to exchange the dryer for. She explained to me that she did not know any of the brands that were sold at this location, and after looking at all the products decided that there wasn't anything in the store that she needed/wanted - and there weren't any other hair dryers similar to the one that she wanted (with a brush extension) and that she had seen similar items at another store that was better quality and less expensive (she had owned one in the past). After determining that she would just like her money back- the manager explained that without a receipt that there could be no refund. Having worked as a manager in retail myself, I asked the manager if they kept the credit card receipts in the store from the previous day (which I knew they had to) - and was correct. We waited for a short time, when the woman returned with the receipts. My wife told the woman what time she was in the store, and showed her the credit card she used. We were able to find the store's copy of the original receipt, and I again asked for my money back- for it seemed obvious, we had found the proof that my wife had indeed purchased the item the day before, and according to the terms of the store's return policy, we were entitled to a full refund. Somehow the manager felt that since my wife did not have her copy of the receipt that there was nothing that she could do- and would not return the money. I explained to the manager, that I knew if I called the corporate office, that she would be told to give me my money back- I asked her who she could call to give her the authorization- she said she was only following the policy and would call the corporate office. After a brief conversation, the manager explained that corporate told her that she had to refund the money- and I explained to the manager that we would never return to this location. read more

I go to another Sally's but I came to this one because I was in the area and the woman are all so rude! All the woman speak Spanish and they were bad mouthing customers while they were still in the store!! I asked for a manager and they said they the manager was not in? I asked for corporate info & they said they don't have it? I proceeded to speak in Spanish and told them I heard everything and that behavior like that was uncalled for.... The absolute worst Sally's ever. The assistant manager is so rude. Every time I've gone there I've had problems. Not only is the customer service awful the employees know nothing. This one in oakwood plaza is by far the nastiest place to shop. I hate every Sally's for the same reason. 1 star the god awful employees that haven't put this location out of business yet. Do not go here. I had some stuff to return that was gifted and they would accept it without a receipt. They were so rude about it saying they did have it in the store. Ummm yea because it was purchased online. So I said ok, I need to buy a nail drill regardless and it was on sale for 94$ I wouldn't give those jerks anymore of my money. The sale drill is on sale at salon centric for 84. Go to salon centric which is right down the road, they're price are better and the employees are so nice. read more

Great Sally's store. Has everything I need. The workers have been very helpful to me. However, there is one worker that will not stop commenting on the items I buy, unlike the others who offer help and simply carry on when I decline. "*sigh* Again?" She says in a sneering tone. The first time I saw her I had a patch problem. She starts giving me unwanted tips without me asking for her help. "Make sure it's a color you actually want this time." She says with a smirk. I did want the color...I just made a mistake. Plus, without my mistakes, you wouldn't even have my money. I now go to another Sally's that has a wider selection and a lovely, not so snarky worker. This Sally"s location is smaller than their other stores. The selection of make up and nail products is limited. If you are looking for hair products, they have a good variety of color and products. The staff varies greatly in how helpful they are. One younger girl working there was friendly but knew little about hair color; She didn't know that demi color is semi-permanent or what henna was. They need to also work on keeping things stocked they are frequently out of the most popular products. Overall a fairly good store for beauty products you can't find in department stores or drug stores. They also have a web site but shipping cost are high unless you are buying a lot of products. read more
