In the past this location had some very shady employees. The last few years the manager has put together an overall great team. There are a few that seem rude but if you had to deal with some of the people I've seen in the store complaining about things the staff can't control I would be a bit on edge too. Just look at a comment below where the person thinks saying they don't carry products for her hair type is an ignorant comment. First they do carry all varieties and second there is nothing wrong with saying you don't have something for the hair type. Maybe the employee knew they didn't have the spray. Personally I think all Sally stores need an over haul but they work with the space well. The popular products are hard to get as stock is often very low. That is really the only downfall. Keep in mind most are not trained cosmetologist so you need to either know your stuff or do your own research. They can help because they pick up things the longer they work in the environment but you can't blame them. They have a very good return policy. read more

Sally beauty did get back to me, unfortunately their solution was not helpful. I'm all for supporting local businesses and do so as much as I can. But at this point it's unfortunate that I'm stuck with a $200 product that I cannot use. This is where Amazon does beat the competition with their awesome return policies within a reasonable situation. I'm will definitely not be shopping at Sally beauty supply any longer. Honestly had a bad experience here when I thought it was going really well.. I went in looking for black hair dye, I asked one of the workers and she said she was a hairstylist and she pointed me in the direction of the ion hair dye. I was explaining to her that I box dyed my hair for the first time the week prior so I was looking for something a little bit darker and more permanent. She showed me a really good product, and I was confident in what she was telling me, but when I got home and started to apply the product on my hair, I noticed that there was nothing to mix the hair dye with. So thinking that she didn't tell me anything I thought that maybe it had been able to use but I didn't know you are supposed to buy activator for the hair dye so I quickly washed it off after only applying it for five minutes. I was very upset because I wasted a $10 bottle for nothing. Not until I did some research I found out that it can damage your hair if you put only the dye it's self on your hair. I was super upset, went back the next day and she was there, I asked for a slight discount for another bottle because I pretty much had to waste it. The manager denied me any discount due to their worker not informing me. i've never permanently dyed my hair before, and when I told her that she forgot to tell me her response was "oh it just slipped my mind". What if that were to really mess up my hair? I would have been a mess. Really disappointed. So this is my go to place to get my hair products. I usually always have a great time and the associates are typically helpful and so fun... today was a little odd though. The cashier lady was just kinda just rude? There were two items I had issues with. One item i found in the clearance section(amongst more of the same item) come to find it wasnt on clearance? And she was trying to tell me its a christmas thing but its not on clearance? Its tinsel for hair and theres multiple in that clearance section. Soooo it should be clearance... She didnt even offer to go take a look at the section. I just decided not to get it cause her attitude was not in the right place. Thennnn... i bought a nail file and my card was already processed at this point and the price of which it was labeled was not what i payed(i paid double). I was already exhausted and i usually love going to Sallys. But this just drained me more and the cashier just did not care, just wanted to upsell other items. The store is obviously unorganized and I tried to suggest politely that someone should do a look around just to adjust items and she just brushed me off. Keep in mind the woman's definitely older than me and could care less about the impression shes making on customers. I went into the store at 11:30AM on Oct 24 2025. Ive been shopping here for years, this lady just made the experience so unenjoyable. The situation has to get figured out before someone else comes in having a worse day and doesnt want to deal with mismarked items. This is a horrible location ! For the past few months, they have been" updating their back room" so they're getting shipment in and saying they're putting everything out but they're also saying that they have the stuff in stock that I'm looking for, but they can't put it out because they back rooms under construction so it doesn't make sense if you're putting out your shipment stuff in the back you can't sell . their online website will say that they have it in stock and available for you to purchase for same-day delivery same-day pick up or just go in store and pick up their shelves are very bare and their customer service is terrible. So Sally's listed hours for Manteca store here on Yelp states on Saturday's they open at 9am however this is not the case!! The hours on the store door at Sally's states they open at 10am on Saturday's. Ya'll may want to call before making the trip over to them just to find out they are closed.... my bad! Very confused. Went to Sally's to get Sebastian shaper hairspray..which my husband went the day before and they told him it wasn't there. So I found it right away. It's the reshaper hair spray. Says it was reduced but not that I could tell. Cause it still was 21.00..no way of knowing what the price was before. To me. Everytime I go in there the employees r pretty rude but recently I've had multiple friends go into the store and attempt to purchase stuff and tue clerks deny them purchase and claim that a beauty license is needed for sale. I've been shopping at Sally's since I was a little girl and I dye my hair like 3 times a month and they've never required a license for anything. I'm not sure what their deal is but I'll just go to one of the many other locations that aren't rude for no reason. read more

I love sallys! Best deals ever on hair stuff, I always buy my hair care stuff here, I love the ion dyes, shimmerlights shampoo, and the generic products. They work just as well as the original. The service was pretty bad, the girls there were so wrapped up in their own conversation. They didn't ask if I needed help, when I did, I had to stand there and wait for the girl with the arm tattoo to finish her conversation to ask a question. It was really unprofessional. read more

I have shopped at Sally's Beauty Supply for years now. For a supply that is open to the public without a cosmetology license. I think it's a great place. I've been able to find pretty much everything I have ever needed. They are friendly and helpful. I'm surprised by the past negative reviews I've read. TERRIBLE service!!! I showed up about five minutes before closing, they were still helping one person and I walked in polish in hand to return a defective polish which would've taken a grand total of two minutes and I was rudely glared at and told they were closed as they helped another customer DURING business hours!! I hate giving Sally s one star but in this case they deserve -*. I have never had anything but great customer service in all the sally s but not Manteca. I was buying some nail polish and took it to the sales counter and the sales person accused me of putting a lower tag on it. My only fault was picking it up and trying to buy it. It was really humiliating being accused with everyone looking on. The staff is rude and they don t care about customers and what they say. BEWARE. read more

Every time I come here there's always an issue. The last time I came in looking for braid spray by African Pride, the employee told me they don't sell products for my hair type. I'm not sure what she meant by that, but either way it was an ignorant comment, and I don't plan on shopping at Sally's anymore because of that reason.
