Three very young waitresses, poor listening skills, busy chatting with each other. They did get busy when a middle aged man showed up (owner?) ;-) Food ordered: fish and chips came with side salad. Chips arrived lukewarm and limp; fish ok; tartar sauce lacking any personality as did the side salad. Perhaps: come for the music not the food or service.

We sat at one of the tables right in the windowand a charming young man took our drinks orders, waiting patiently while number one son deliberated carefully between orange and blackcurrant cordial. Not an impatient sigh to be heard so definitely a good start. Around us was a complete mix of people, ladies having coffee (never understand people who go to a pub and have coffee but let's not judge), young guys having lots of pints and other families. We were lucky in getting our seats at the window and enjoyed the beautiful views of the sea and cliffs, just breathtaking. I was equally delighted by the fact thatthey serve mini bottles of Chardonnay as most bars seem to serve only that vinegary muck known as sauvignon. The kids were quite noisy but not out of control noisy and everyone seemed happy with that. Well, I was anyway. Only downside was that they had no crisps which for us are a must when you're not having a meal. A great spot for day drinks for a family ot group of friends.

One reviewer very accurately described it as a "cattle mart". Many times I've had drinks splashed on me in the overpacked lounge floor where the music is usually amplified to the point of making it impossible to chat to whoever you're along with. I see even in their Christmas brochure, which came through my door on Friday, a pic of a guy with drink spilled down his shirt!! I never leave reviews, however this review was prompted based on the terrible experience my 18 year old niece had there recently.. She had come up from Inishown at Halloween to go to Voodoo club with a friend. After queuing for the best part of an hour in a queue that had zero crowd control and potential for people being trampled, when they got to the front of the queue some guy shouted that a girl had been sick, at which point a female bouncer with dark blond hair reached for my niece and yanked her out of the queue. Her friend politely tried to reason with the bouncer that she pulled the wrong person out at which point a male door person pushed him into the club and then refused to let him back out. My niece was left standing by herself crying in the street until a family member went into town to take her home. Baring in mind that just the week previously, a young girl had been viciously assaulted just up the street from Voodoo... It seems their policy for someone being sick is to chuck them into the street. In this case it was the wrong person that was dragged out of the queue. The amount of money and effort my niece spent getting her Halloween outfit and coming up to Letterkenny to have that type of experience disgusts me. I reached out to Voodoo via their Facebook page. No apology was offered. No acknowledgment that the staff in question would be addressed. Nothing. I suggest a change of name for the club from Voodoo to 'Bad Vibe', because that's all you'll get on a night out at this place!

Having read the previous review of Bogan's I didn't have high hopes but I was pleasantly surprised…read more The reason for the visit to Bogan's was a stand up comedy show as part of the 'Omagh Laughs Back' comedy festival. To be perfectly honest if this hadn't of been the venue we would probably have given Bogan's a miss. Bogan's has a bit of everything, an old traditional bar, a beer garden looking out on to the river and of course an upstairs venue space. When you were in each of these spaces you could have sworn you were in different bars, I don't really know whether this versatility is a good or a bad thing. I found the crowd in Bogan's really friendly, contrary to what I read, it's the type of bar that has a core clientele and as long as you respect that then you'll be grand. One thing I really liked was the wee bar in the upstairs room, the guys working at it were excellent, trying to serve everyone before the gig started. Overall, if you're in Omagh then I'd give it a go, the back beer garden is it's main selling point.

Chatting with the tourists is a bit of craic as well, hearing about where they're travelling from. The Live Music ranges from Rock to Acoustic to Blues to Folk to Metal and many inbetween, parties and also the comedy nights are real fun.
