Customer service was good, and although they're more expensive than Uber, I continued using them. But recently I had two negative experiences with them at which point I believe I'll be using someone else. 1. Trying to arrange for a pickup for an airport run at 5 AM - it gets booked but then canceled. So, I had to find alternatives. 2. I was doing my expense report and noticed last few receipts were higher than usual. I've opened the receipts (usually I just pay through visa on file through the app) and was surprised to see they charged me tips by default with no input from me. Super slimey and sneaky. I didn't authorize tips, I didn't agree to them - they just changed them. Hope few extra dollars in tips were worth losing a loyal corporate customer.

However, I always phone ahead of time and reserve one. I can see people getting disgruntled if they had to wait any length of time. Guess they never tried to get a Taxi in Toronto. If you had to wait, the driver isn't at home watching Wheel of Fortune just to annoy you. S/he is on another service call, hopefully picking me up for my appointment cuz I booked in advance.....food for thought.

ABUSIVE DRIVERS & ARROGANT DISPATCHERS…read more Psychotic cab driver #11 I witnessed cab #11 cut a woman off to the point where she was inches from being hit, she replied with a much needed honk at which point the cab driver slammed on his brakes so the woman had to stop before hitting him. The cab driver then proceeded to get out of his cab and verbally abuse this poor woman all while myself and a few other cars had to wait as this cabbie was parked in the middle of the street. At one point it seemed as if he was about to get physical and I thought I might need to intervene, at this point in time he left got back into his cab and then stopped at a green light so we all had to wait and then as the light turned red he turned right. The woman was 100 percent innocent and I'm sure her and her baby that was in the back seat were quite rattled. I phoned Vernon Taxi to explain the situation and they were the most arrogant people I have ever spoken with during a phone call. They were not interested in doing anything about this, they even denied that they would speak with the driver about his actions and said it was not their problem to deal with. I will never take a cab with Vernon Taxi and I advise anyone who cabs in Vernon to do the same. If I could give them 0 stars I would.

Called Check mate cab yesterday for pickup at 9:45 am today. The dispatch lady was very friendly and had no issue changing the time. Probably she was able to look up my profile through my caller ID. I changed the time for 11 am pickup. The taxi driver showed up at 11:05 am so not bad. The taxi driver was very friendly. He had no issue finding the address I provided him because he used a GPS. Everything went well. Got to the airport on time. Note that you are better off calling Check mate cab than any other cab company in Kelowna. They have a lot more fleet and they will show up. I liked the fact that I could book in advance. I later found out that they have an app system that you can use to reserve the cab. If you are into wine tour. They also do wine tours. Not sure how that works and the details. But I only found out through waiting on hold yesterday for the dispatch lady to pick up.
