Not even the best part, well maybe it was the best part, was halfway through the morning: my 14 year old pulled in a 29+ pound salmon. Turns out that it was the Great Ontario Salmon Derby weekly winner. As soon as the fish got on board, Ryan made sure it did not lose an ounce of weight and he helped us submit the fish after the trip was over. He obviously knows what he is doing and our family's greatest fish story has a Derby win it.

It might be worth calling ahead to see if space on the small back upper level is prioritized for those who can't navigate the stairs.

They have snacks and drinks for sale and you're able to move around the boat while it's in motion to look at everything. Our guide narrating everything was HILARIOUS, just absolutely hysterical. He had a very dry and witty sense of humor and was incredibly funny. I was laughing the whole time. He was under appreciated by his audience and I think that may have been to the speakers not being the clearest but I just stood up and moved closer to them.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE…read more I spent over $400 on 16 tickets for the Sunset Cruise for my birthday on September 27, 2025. We never made it because Toronto was completely gridlocked from the Messi event. I called and was told by one of the operators that I would be able to use the tickets another time, so I wasn't worried. When I actually tried to rebook, nobody answered the phone. After calling over and over, I was forced to use their texting service. Suddenly, I was told my tickets couldn't be used, I couldn't get a refund, and they wouldn't offer any credit or compensation. Instead, they told me to contact travel insurance. I'm from Northern Ontario. Why would I buy travel insurance for a day trip within my own province? Keeping over $400 for tickets that were never used and refusing to work with a customer in any way is terrible business. The complete lack of communication, impossible customer service, and unwillingness to stand behind what your staff told me is unacceptable. I won't be booking with this company again, and I wouldn't recommend anyone else does either.

Last Wed. evening I attended an Elite Yelp Boat Cruise Event aboard the River Gambler; it was my…read more2nd time attending this Event - my 1st time was in summer 2015 - and the weather cooperated to make it very enjoyable. Plenty of quality food, beer and other alcohol choices were on offer for sampling and there was a variety of good music and prize giveaways as well. This Event took place a few weeks later in the summer than the Cruise I attended 3 years ago, therefore it became dark earlier and with the humidity/clouds among the encroaching sunset, an almost ethereal image was cast around the boat. I found that both of the Yelp Boat Cruise Events I've attended were just the right length at about 2 1/2 to 3 hours - not too long and not to short. Both Events also appeared to be very well organized and the boat large enough and well enough maintained to help ensure smooth 'sailing'. I hope to be able to attend the same Event next year.

We bought tickets ONLY for the air show. First, they changed the date from September 5th to September 6th and refused refunds. Then they boarded us late, so we were only on the boat for about 2.5 hours and actually sailing for roughly 2 hours. Most importantly, we saw NONE of the air show. The boat basically went in a small circle, never getting more than about 10 minutes from the dock. That was the "tour." We didn't buy tickets for a regular harbour cruise -- we bought an Air Show cruise that was advertised as a way to watch the air show. We didn't see any of it. Highly disappointing and misleading.

If I'm not mistaken, the job of a customer service person is to provide information. I phoned because I wanted to speak to a real, live person who could add up the costs for me. After going to their website and phoning again, I got amelia again. Upon realizing it was me she angrily transferred me to another woman who at least was friendlier but still had to be coached to give an exact, everything included price for the summer (she kept giving me the individual fee amounts which is useless to me, I need a final figure) and when I gave up she said at the very end of the conversation "make sure we are the right place for you," passive-aggressively and in a snotty tone. Pretty sure I knew it wasn't before that moment. Bottom line is- membership could be a positive experience but because the customer service and attitude towards younger customers is so poor I wouldn't bother.
