I loved seeing the points of interest…read morewithin the grounds like where Adam Smith is buried and I found the grounds very beautiful and peaceful to walk around, however my bubble soon burst when I came upon a couple of homeless people had pitched up a tent in the Kirkyard and another man urinating at the side of the church which to me was very disrespectful and gross and for that I am giving the Kirkyard 4 stars as I feel it's a lovely warm magical place but needs better patrolled to keep it that way.

There is one seat on one side and two seats on the other, with an aisle In the middle. It has quite a few amenities including: usb plug in ports (charging stations) for electronic devices, Regular plug in for British electrical devices. If you have an adapter for Europe or USA devices (plug in), you can charge those devices too. Free WiFi. Although Bud's current bus has windows that don't go up too high (which is why I only gave it 4-stars), he is taking delivery of a new 19 seat bus in January 2019 with all of the above amenities but on that one, the windows will go all the way up for better viewing (yea, with that one I'd give it 5-stars.) It has a huge trunk/boot so he can carry a LOT of luggage. You can hire Bud and his vehicle for short trips or like us, for an entire week around Scotland. Bud is an interesting person.

He was even awarded third place in a poll of the greatest physicists of all time. Albert Einstein is quoted as saying, One scientific epoch ended and another began with James Clerk Maxwell. The statue is shown holding his 'colour top', a spinning disc with coloured paper which was used to learn more about the physiology of colour vision. His work led to the world's first colour photograph in 1861. The sculptor Alexander Stoddart (born Edinburgh, 1959) has been Her Majesty's Sculptor since 2008. He is mainly known for his large civic works including the philosophers David Hume and Adam Smith (also found in Edinburgh).

The driver was friendly and experienced and took my luggage to the executive car (Audi) and offered me advice on where to eat and what was of interest in Stirling. I have fond memories coming here 10 years ago, when we first came there was no one else there but…read moreit seems to have grown in popularity. There is old stone masonry and while some may think it has a creepy vibe I find it quite peaceful. It rains a lot in Scotland and there is a crazy amount of green, despite the rain it seems to be well maintained with nothing too overgrown. Some interesting things to call out: -There is the only Civil War monument outside of the Us here, it's dedicated to the Scottish soldiers that died during WW2 and there is a giant statue of Abraham Lincoln on top. -There is a giant obelisk dedicated to political martyrs who championed reform during the French Revolution. It's right at the beginning of the graveyard and easy to see from long distances away. -Toward the back the walls are low and the graveyard is surrounded by modern apartments and condos. It's a nice place for photography and feels a bit surreal. -Carved tombstones and crypts have great stonework though some have fallen apart or been vandalized over time. There are a lot of skulls and I think the meaning is more "memento mori" than something dark.

Calton Cemetery Old & New. This is a beautiful cemetery with an excellent view and walk. There were…read moreso many stones indicating what the person did for a living. Enjoyed that. I found a few carpenters, a philosopher, an attorney.
