She was very responsive via email about the vehicles available and helping with itinerary questions while planning our week long trip from Edinburgh into the highlands and back. The bus we selected was a 25 passenger Mercedes bus. We found their vehicles much nicer than anything else we came across during our research and the photos were accurate to what we received. The bus itself had plenty of storage and it was in excellent high end condition. Bob was our driver and he could not have been any better. We expected a driver but what we got was a wonderful driver/tour guide wrapped into one. Bob knows his stuff and guided us every step of the way. I could not have been more pleased and all 17 in our group shared the same opinion.

This was a small van, just for a few trips to the tip. I ensured that tank was full and no damage, at drop off. Didn't even think of checking mileage - I filled the tank up just before handover - a total cost of £6.69, for the 2 days. I phoned a couple of days after drop off, to confirm that all was OK and was told yes. 2 weeks later, I notice that PIXO has withdrawn £40.63, using my card details, with no notification or permission. I sent an email of complaint, warning that I would take legal action, if necessary - no response. I left 3 voicemails, over several days - with no response. Finally, a very nice lady answers and said that she had been on holiday and that no-one had passed any messages on. She investigated and said that Europcar had taken mileage readings at the beginning and end of the rental and had told PIXO that I had exceeded the mileage allowance - their total was 600 miles. Astonishing really, since we only used 1.767 gallons of fuel and we only used the van to clear some garden and household rubbish, to Sighthill tip. I am disputing this and I will be willing to go to Court, and there will be 3 of us willing to give evidence, as well as 2 written statements. I have been in touch with Trading Standards, for advice and the guy immediately picked up on the fact that the withdrawal was made with no notification and he has reported this as an 'unfair Business Practice'. I will ensure that my evidence includes the fact that I received no reply to my original email or phone calls. I am now in the process of sending a Recorded Delivery letter, stating my case and a deadline for this to be resolved and my money refunded, otherwise I will proceed to the Small Claims Court.

Then we dashed to the check in via biometric scan (note you need to obtain an ETA before coming to the UK, without it, you won't get in). Once we went through we walked to find our luggage waiting for us in the turn things. That part was surprisingly quick (LAX could never!) Then, we just followed the signs to get out of the airport and into the uber pick up area and then I forgot the driver is on the left side so I had a mini embarrassing moment trying to open what I thought was the front passenger seat Departures: After being traumatized by the Amsterdam airport - I made sure to arrive 4 hours early. This annoyed the British Airways representative. When I told her my misadventure in Amsterdam, she let me in to security. Just before is pret-a-manger. I spent an hour there charging my phone, and my electronics. I got a cup of mango with lime. It was refreshing. I also got a blueberry matcha which sadly only came with oat milk. It was still good. Not too sweet. Then I walked through security and ended up in a line for a restaurant - forgot the name. but they had an epic chicken cesear salad and mint mojito. It was amazing. But the only downside was that the wait time was really long. I lost track of time. I then went to a boutique nearby looking for a light dress or a tank top - I just so happened to pick a bank holiday and the day a random heatwave rolled through London and I had nothing to wear for the heat. I got caught up trying on clothes that I did not notice until 15 minutes before boarding closes that I had to get on the plane. So then I frantically looked for a screen that told me I was not too far. So I then apologized to the ladies who were stuck with 6 items to put back as I ran to the plane. Then I hopped on the plane and then proceeded to order an organic can vodka that was delicious and better up in the sky. What a time to be alive.

However there are airport staff around who are super helpful! It is clean and bright with some coffee shops and a local Sainsbury attached if you need to pick up some items for traveling or upon arrival. We found some good spots to sit and wait as our flight was delayed. It is a lot of walking but also very helpful in finding lots of shops and duty free for browsing. Not a ton of seating in the early areas but once you get to the gates there are some options. The gate is only announced when the flight is closer to boarding, so you can loiter and browse until you know your gate departure. We only missed a place to fill our water bottles, but a helpful bartender gave us tap water which was all we needed. A good spot and thankful for the airport buses that take you right there easily!

Place looks great, has awesome electrical features (including green lighting, which I appreciate as an engineer). Bar and restaurant look great, staff is nice, gym looked good as well. Free drinks at the bar and breakfast (hilton diamond). If returning to the area, would definitely stay again. Only downside is how hard the hotel is to get to from the M90.

The meal we had was pretty basic - some rather tasty leek and potato soup, followed by a rather odd combination of portobello mushroom with yorkshire pudding, some hard carrots and an overcooked sprig of broccoli. For dessert, my boyfriend and I shared a piece of Bailey's cheesecake and some profiteroles. To be honest, both desserts came out a box and not much else seemed amazingly fresh either - from the yorkshire pudding on. Saying that, nothing tasted bad, but I wouldn't go shouting about the quality of food here being particularly high, and most likely your aunty who likes plain food would be at home here. In regards to the breakfast - pretty spartan options of cereal or full English. Food wasn't stocked up on the buffet, so I had beans, tomatoes and mushrooms on toast, as there wasn't much other non-bacon and sausage options out there i.e. the desolate plate waiting for eggs that never appeared in the time I took to wait, give up, eat and leave. It wasn't exactly clear what we were supposed to do at breakfast either - sit down, wait for a waitress who didn't show up for sometime after I arrived? Was I supposed to hunt down a cup of tea? If so, the bugger laid low in the bushes and I was left wth OJ. In regards to the venue - as mentioned earlier, stunning views. The room we had was relatively quiet (although you could hear doors slamming up and down the hall in the morning). Rooms were clean and bed was soft but comfy. Would this be a place I would rush back to? No, but they did a reasonable job at looking after us and our event, and I don't think anyone was booted out after hours. A pleasant, if not remarkable venue.
