I asked her if I could come on Wednesday, June 3rd, and she said yes. I am leaving to go out of the country on Thursday, June 4th. This appointment was very important to me. I arrived this morning right on time, but Aminah was not there. There were three women who was there in the shop. One of them called Aminah and informed her I was there. I spoke with Aminah and she informed me that "Binta" was going to do my hair. I responded, "Okay, no problem." Binta told me to sit in her chair. I showed her the style and she said, " I don't know how to do that style" She called Aminah back, and I guess she explained she couldn't do it (speaking French). Sidebar: if it involves me, please speak English. After speaking with Aminah, Binta said, Aminah said she can't come. I asked why she didn't call or text me, but nobody responded. Now I'm riding round looking for someone to braid my hair. TRUST ME, IF YOU HAVE ANYWHERE IMPORTANT TO GO, DO NOT MAKE AN APPOINTMENT WITH AMINAH; she is neither professional nor reliable.

As soon as I arrive, she assessed my hair and started the braiding process. She was professional, quick, efficient, and soft-handed. This was the first time I did not feel as if my scalp was being pulled from my head. I went through cancer treatment and my hair grew back except in one very noticeable spot. Aminah braided my hair so that that spot is covered. I've never been happier. She is a master of her craft. I arrived on time and she offered to let me sit in the kitchen to finish the food I'd brought. She did have a head in her chair at the time, but I wasn't over surprised. It was a cold, rainy Thursday evening. She got me in quickly and shampooed and conditioned me herself to sit under the dryer (of course) and then she quickly wrapped one client before me and got me in the chair. All-in-all I was out in under 2-1/2 hours and I consider that a complete win. My hair was LAID and I absolutely loved my curls. Whitney does an excellent job with natural hair. I don't need a whole silk press because my hair, while curly, is fine (3c/4a) but she still did a good job of determining the heat setting from my iron (I always bring my own now) and was willing to use my heat protectant, which I appreciated. 10/10
