She's conveniently located on Branch Avenue less than 10 minutes from the metro where I park to go into DC everyday. I made the appointment and confirmed online. I arrived on time and she offered to let me sit in the kitchen to finish the food I'd brought. She did have a head in her chair at the time, but I wasn't over surprised. It was a cold, rainy Thursday evening. She got me in quickly and shampooed and conditioned me herself to sit under the dryer (of course) and then she quickly wrapped one client before me and got me in the chair. All-in-all I was out in under 2-1/2 hours and I consider that a complete win. My hair was LAID and I absolutely loved my curls. Whitney does an excellent job with natural hair. I don't need a whole silk press because my hair, while curly, is fine (3c/4a) but she still did a good job of determining the heat setting from my iron (I always bring my own now) and was willing to use my heat protectant, which I appreciated. 10/10

I reached out two days in advance on Yelp and she responded immediately about her availability and also about the type of hairstyle I wanted. During my appointment she was nice, funny, and allowed me to relax. I never have a good experience with getting braids, even weaves done in the DC/MD area, typically the braider is rude, they pull your hair, and just overall very very unprofessional but Dina was the complete opposite. So, I will be going back and I've already recommended her to some of my girlfriends. She is now my new permanent hair stylist in the area!!!

Needless to say my hair became damage from the weekly excessive heat. Years pass without going to Layla or any other salon. No heat or chemicals. I now have curly hair past my shoulders. Laila Cook can be the worst when it comes to customer service because she can be very delusional ,rude and close minded. Besides thinking she is the only one in the world that can do hair she doesn't listen to the customer. I have been shampooed and styled immediately on arrival. Haven't waited a moment which is impressive. She does one persons hair at a time. I was in and out in one hour! And I love my hair. In addition to being a great stylist, being at her salon is easy. The salon is clean, bright and prices are competitive. I live in Montgomery County and the 30 minute drive is worth it!
