The blowout itself was great. The stylist who took care of me was super nice and did a great job of reading the room when it came to how much conversation I wanted, which I really appreciated. My one frustration with Drybar in general is the add-ons. Almost every time I book at any location, I add an extra treatment, and somehow it never actually gets done. This time was no exception, but for the first time I actually spoke up at checkout and asked for it to be removed from my bill since I didn't receive it. Small win! I suffer from pretty bad depression, and sometimes something as basic as washing and styling my hair can genuinely feel like a huge task. On those days, I treat myself to Drybar. My depression can also make it difficult for me to advocate for myself or speak up when something is wrong, which is why I've previously just paid for add-ons I didn't receive. I know I need to speak up, but I also wish there were a better system to make sure booked add-ons are actually communicated to the stylist. Overall, I was really happy with my blowout and appreciated how kind and intuitive my stylist was. Thank you!

The receptionist barely acknowledged me with no smile and was talking rudely to the client checking out and didn't check me in for over 5 min of me standing there. After being taken late with no apology, the stylist was rude, rough with my hair when I had tangles and overall just didn't seem like she wanted to be there. It's visibly dirty with broken hair clips on the floor. I will definitely be finding an independent person to blow dry my hair from now on.

She responded to my inquiry text right away and a few texts later, I was all booked! Her studio is inside the John of Italy Salon. Parking lot is big and right next to entrance, so that's easy. Inside the space are floor to ceiling windows, so there is a ton of natural light, which definitely helps Hidi give you the best, most flawless application. I asked her for brown/golden smokey glam and she absolutely nailed it. Throughout the appointment she would hand me the mirror to check-in and make sure I was happy with how things were progressing, which was super nice. Each time she handed me the mirror, I was more and more in love with her work. By the end of the appointment, I was literally staring at myself in the mirror in awe and feeling/looking like a million bucks. She also did light styling on my hair and gave me soft, gorgeous waves. Honestly, I walked out of the salon, looking like a movie star. The event was super hot and everyone was sweating, but miraculously my makeup stayed put.
