Love. This. Place. Everyone in this salon makes you feel so at home and welcome. I made my first appointment a couple weeks ago after being a salon nomad for years. I was the last appointment of the night, and usually the stylist can't wait to get out of there. Jill, my person, was AMAZING and let me rant about how I had no idea what I wanted to do with my hair. She made some recommendations, and when (in the middle of her highlighting my hair) I decided I wanted to go with a different suggestion she had given me, she was more than willing to go with it! I've been in salons where i've had to commit 3+ hours to them in order to get my hair highlighted... Jill had me in and out in an hour and a half, with the best color job i've gotten in years if not ever. I've gotten sooo many compliments on it! The atmosphere is super relaxed and inviting. You feel like you are at a friends house. The front desk is so nice and accommodating too- I had made an appointment to get hair and makeup done, but needed to go earlier than I originally thought. I called with the full expectation that I would have to cancel and be on my own for both (I had a wedding to go to that night) but they were able to fit me in! Stephanie styled my hair - i showed her a picture of my dress and she gave me hair that looked amazing with it with so many intricate little details. This place is the best, and I think i'm ready to become a one-salon woman :) Update (6/25/14): I had my wedding party get their hair done here, and everyone's turned out AMAZING!!! Mini story: My brother's girlfriend was unsatisfied with the way her hair turned out, and the second one of the stylists heard, they sent her right back to the chair to get her hair completely redone to her satisfaction. Seriously, what good customer service!! The salon gave us the upstairs room to store all of our stuff and hang out when we weren't getting everything done - we essentially took over almost the entire salon, and had such a great time. My hairstylist, Jill, did such a phenomenal job on my hair - it looked great and stayed up all night!! Not to mention, looked great (as did everyone!) in the wedding photos:) One of my bridesmaids loved her hair so much she said she might have to hire them for her upcoming wedding. This place is special because they are genuinely NICE in addition to providing great services. I've been to places where I've gotten great services (and paid through the nose for them), but was a nervous wreck going in there (even as a regular customer) because the ambience of the salon was so, well, uppity. Blake does my color..I followed her from another salon I liked her services so much. They take care of you without it seeming fake and they also seem to genuinely enjoy working at the salon. There is no catty wildness going on, just friendly people providing great services. I would definitely recommend the salon. About the pricing, it is what I would consider slightly upscale. However, what I know is that women (including me) often pay WAY too much for services that we are not altogether happy with. I have to say that I make sure I have the money for my appointments, because I am so happy with what I come out with. read more

I have been to this salon three times and love it! I had Jill and today had Cara. I have struggled in the past to find a good person that can do professional looking highlights and a great bob cut with minimal maintenance. I don't have much time, so the online booking helps a lot. All of the staff is very friendly and greets me with a smile at each visit. I am offered a beverage and wait in the lounge area. I don't wait long before my stylist escorts me back. And I am very glad that I did! The staff was very friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere is very cozy yet professional. Even more importantly, I was very impressed by my hair stylist, Jill. Love this salon! Kate does a great job coloring and styling my hair. She takes her time to make sure it is done right and is very professional. In addition, I scheduled an appointment for 10:30 on a Saturday. About 4 days before my appointment, they called and asked if I could come a half hour later because they knew the client before me would take longer and didn't want me to sit and wait. I've been a client of the salon for many years after following a previous stylist when she started working here. I have always been very happy with the services I've booked here from color, cut, massage, and nails. The staff is extremely welcoming and caring to the clients. The front desk has always been extremely helpful when helping me schedule my appointments. They've even looked up gift cards people have gifted me when I've put the actual cards in such a safe place that I can't remember where they are. I have recently decided to switch stylists and decided to visit Heather. I only gave her a few preferences for my hair - no "mom" hair, I don't like hair on my neck, and I wanted the color to be relatively low maintenance. The style she gave me is absolutely perfect. I waited almost a week to write this review because I wanted to live with the new hair cut for a few days. Styling is so simple now. I don't feel like I'm fighting with my hair's quirks. Every hair just falls into place. The only downside is that Heather only works in the Wilmington location one day a week but she did such a great job that I'm totally willing to drive to Middletown from my home in N. I wish I could echo the positive sentiments of others, but I had my hair cut by Holly last week and ,honestly, it was the worst haircut I've ever had. My hair is wavy/curly and temperamental with several cowlicks, but it also is forgiving of many cut mistakes. Not this time. It did not look good when Holly finished styling it, and it is only slightly better with me styling it. Based upon others' reviews, I really hoped that Holly would give me a great haircut as she has done for others. My hair is short, much shorter than some of the other reviewers judging from their photos, and layered; perhaps that was the problem since that takes different cutting techniques. I just know that Holly believed that she knew better than I how my hair would respond, and she had only worked with it once before. So, if anyone reading this knows a good hairstylist for short, layered, curly hair, please share with me that person's name and salon. read more

I came here for my first ever manicure last weekend. I was told by my wedding photographer that it would be a good idea to have this done. Like most men, I was very skeptical, and not really excited to do this. I have to say, it was an amazing experience. My nails have never looked so clean. BEST SALON EVER! As soon as I walked in I was happily greeted and instantly offered something to drink (there was even a choice between lemon water AND regular water!!). I was taken back a few minutes later and my stylist consulted with me. She recommended a cut that would be perfect for my face, and it was the best haircut I have ever received!! Got a gift certificate over a year ago for a facial but they let me use it towards whichever service I wanted. I scheduled an hour exfoliating body massage. This place is very nicely decorated when you first walk in. The spa services are upstairs where there is another nicely decorated waiting room. My massage was done by Siani. It was by far one of the best massages I have ever had. I have never had an exfoliating massage was not sure what to expect but loved it! I will now only have this type of massage and probably only here. I thought for sure when I was done I accidently booked a 2 hour massage. It was actually an hour and a half and only 95.00 because of a special. I loved this place and will be back for sure! read more

This place should not have 5 stars as that's just misguiding. 828 is not so great. It's not aweful but should not be a $$$ salon. If you like typical big hair, gossip and overly made up staff type of salons you would be fine with 828, they even try to get fancy with some offers of luke warm lemon tap water and mediocre customer service,a.k.a; i'd rather be gossiping and whining with my co worker than greeting customers.But what's worse is that the stations were not very clean and the products they use are meh. No five stars or attention to detail here. I've been to many salons in delaware and none of them are exceptionally chique or classy (unless again, you're into the long island mom type of expensive salon) but that doesn't mean they don't harbor great stylists, the staff at 828 on the day I visited were not great. My hair was a mess when I walked out of 828, my stylist (whom I believe is one of the lead stylists) didn't know how to finish a job if it wasn't to be coiffed out and blown. I did not feel good, special or relaxed and I had spent $300. The best hair I ever walked out with in Wilmington was Michael Christopher (dated but they know what they're doing and they're not claiming Haute couture) Next I'm trying Robert Cris salon... read more

I received a haircut from Stephanie. She was very sweet and welcoming. However I'm less than pleased with my haircut. I wanted a bit of a drastic cut, cutting at least 6 inches. I brought a picture of the hairstyle I wanted and she quickly glanced at it, saying she knew what I wanted. I wish she had looked at it longer because ultimately my cut is far from what I'd hoped.
