I made last minute reservations to go to Cielo last week for a massage, manicure and pedicure after my normal spa had to cancel last minute. I appreciated Cielo's flexibility with getting me into the schedule, the receptionist even moved some things around to make it possible. Great customer service there. Unfortunately the rest of the experience wasn't as good. I didn't see anywhere on the website that there wasn't a parking lot, and unfortunately the garage near the spa was closed for no apparent reason so finding parking was difficult. I had to ring the doorbell to get into the spa and someone came to let me in, didn't say hi and just asked me if I had an appointment before they'd let me in. The interior of the reception area was very visibly worn and outdated. It reminded me of the decor of a high end spa from the late 90s or early 00s. They had a sign on the wall saying that the spa had won Best of Delaware in 2004 which is when I think it was likely last updated. I'm not quite sure why but I had to wait about 20 minutes to get started on my services, I mostly just stood at the reception desk awkwardly as she typed away for over 15 minutes. I finally asked if she needed more time and I should sit. At that point she said we could get started. I will say this - the massage was fantastic. That, plus the schedule flexibility, is why this is a 3 star review and not 1 or 2. Again, the ambiance wasn't great - the spa area was also very old and outdated and frankly looked like it needed a good scrub down. There were coffee drips on the wall near my pedicure chair that grossed me out, some towels that looked less than fresh in the nail area and other random bits of grime throughout. Prior to the massage she brought me into a dressing room to put on a robe. I was disappointed to see they didn't have above an XL and only one XL available. Although the XL was comfortable for me I felt like it would've been awkward if I needed a bigger size or if someone had already been using the XL. I know they only had one because l was the only spa customer for the entire 4 hours. It was a bit too quiet and creepy being in the spa area alone to be honest. My pedicure and manicure were both ok but not great. I was really disappointed with the polish choices especially. There were only about 10 gel options and they had zero matching sets for gel/non-gel which is really standard at spas now. I ended up finding two that were similar. The person who did my services was nice enough but not friendly or warm. That combined with the general worn out/outdated/somewhat grimy ambiance kind of ruined the vibe for me a bit. I didn't get that same super relaxing, warm feeling I'm looking for at a spa. I will say the prices are decent. Overall I don't think I'd return given the ambiance of the spa but if you don't care about that, this might be a good place for a massage! read more

So after spending a day (and over 2 hours), trying to find a salon that was somewhat close to home, took walk-ins, and could wax my eyebrows on short notice, I finally remembered that when I moved to Wilmington a couple of weeks ago someone had recommended Cielo. I walked in and was told that the person that does waxing was out that day but that other people were certified ( I should have run out at this point but I'm always afraid of coming off as rude). A hairdresser took me upstairs and, without washing her hands, had me lay down and just went at my eyebrows. I told her I just wanted them cleaned up. She asked me if she could take a little off the top. I said yes, thinking back to people that had done that in the past using scissors. So here's what happened. 1) Only wax was used, but no other eyebrows shaping tools 2) No gloves/washing of hands happened at any time 3) She did not clean my eyebrows up with tweezers. In fact, I'm mortified because there are little random hairs sticking up everywhere 4) She did not use scissors to cut longer hairs so the ends of my eyebrows look like they are going to fly away 5) SHE CUT OFF HALF OF MY EYEBROWS!! The part that curves down is SUPPOSED to be there.  6) She made me bleed Now I have little half eyebrows that look like they are flying away at the ends with random hair everywhere else along the top of my eyelid and I'm scared to touch them because I lost so much hair I can't possibly give up any more. I know it's bad because my boyfriend looked at me and said, "Half your eyebrows are missing!" So me, being the meek person I am, felt bad saying anything because everyone at this salon was very nice and welcoming. I even tipped her out.  2 stars for being welcoming and accomodating. Oh and I failed to mention that it cost $19. Back home in San Diego, my eyebrows weren't annihilated and it cost me $8. read more

I went here to get temporary eyelashes applied. I called on the off chance they could squeeze me in that afternoon and they did! I was super appreciative of that for sure! However, they ended up not being able to apply my lashes because they had only one tube of glue (this is what I was told) that had "gone bad". In the end she applied eyeliner and mascara. The cost of applying lashes was $25. I was charged $20 for applying eyeliner and mascara. I felt this was a bit unreasonable. The salon itself is comfortable, clean, and has an overall professional and classy feeling. I just felt that if you couldn't deliver the service that was requested and scheduled, perhaps there also shouldn't be a charge, or maybe less of a charge. read more

I saw Radjeep for a bikini wax and it was such a lovely experience. It was my first time getting that kind of wax and she was gentle, easy to talk to, and very friendly. I don't live here but if I did I would definitely be making a return visit!! I highly suggest her for anyone who needs something waxed. read more

I flew into Wilmington Delaware for a wedding from Boston and needed to get my hair colored and cut last minute. They were amazing my hair hasn't looked this good in a long time. I had a facial here and it was wonderful, extremely thorough and relaxing. The woman who took care of me was a wizard at extractions (and I needed it!). I got a series of masks and scrubs and steam, plus a really great hand massage and neck massage. I left feeling very pampered and well cared for. I took off one star because I couldn't really understand what the woman who gave the facial was saying... Too bad because she gave me lots of great advice and talked about products but I only caught about half of it. She had a Russian accent, which is totally great, but she mumbled a lot, and I think the combination of the accent and the mumbling made it tricky. I was sort of hoping for a list of products I could look into purchasing, or some clear directions for maintaining the benefits of the facial, or even her business card, but she finished and was gone. Despite this I'll definitely be going back for more TLC. read more

Was not happy with the treatment at all. Booked appointment for 1100 am, but our turn was 100 pm. Stylists changed in the middle of the treatment and they almost charged me double. Hair wasn't styled professional and I could have probably done a better job myself. Would not recommend this salon at all. read more

They used to have a fabulous woman there, Jenniver, who has since left and started her own business. I moved back to the area so it was my first time getting a leg and brazilian wax by a new lady. It sucked. She used hard wax on my coochie. OUCH. It seemed like some form of torture. It took about 45 minutes to finish my brazilian, too long for that type of pain. The leg wax, when I went home I noticed she didnt get it all, and waxed over one particular spot so much that it tore my skin up. Yeah. no good. I love going to Cielo Salon and Spa for all of my beauty needs. Rachel and Theresa spoil me when I go in for a full foil and haircut. As soon as I walk in I am greeted and given a drink of my preference (usually wine) by Joan or Amanda, or sometimes even Laron (the owner) herself! I also enjoy relaxing when I visit the spa for a facial or massage. I love the deep tissue and Cielo Signature massages. I was recently at the open house where I was able to experience the Mu-Xing massage, and I am ready to go back for the full thing! read more

This is a wonderful spa located in a convienient location downtown Wilmington, Delaware. I relocated here from Chicago and have been traveling to D.C. for hair and spa services, until I was referred to Cielo. The reception staff is outstanding! Jasmine is my stylist, she is very knowledgable and does a good job and she is fast. Sandi does a great mani-pedi. Helene is an awesome esthetician. I noticed a difference in the appearance of my skin within the next day or two after my facial. The shop area is comfortable and decorated stylish. Incredibly customer service oriented establishment. From the moment I walked in the front door I was treated as a special client. I received an incredible hair cut and then went for an incredible massage experience (my first). The atmosphere during the massage was very relaxing and the masseuse was INCREDIBLE. They offered evening hours which made it possible for me to visit. I am in Delaware on a work related training session. I spend a lot of time in classrooms and in my hotel room studying after classes. I could not have asked for a more wonderful experience. If the opportunity presents itself again, I am heading back to Cielo Salon & Spa. Dramatically reasonable pricing and an excellent staff make this place really stand out. read more

I am from out of town travelling for work. I was able to get an appointment for a massage on short notice. My therapist was amazing! I had an hour and a half deep tissue massage and I feel so relaxed and refreshed. The atmosphere is relaxing and quiet and the employees are very nice. read more

Getting ready for "the day", Laron-owner and Joan-receptionist took great care in planning enough stylists were present (Labor Day holiday week-end) as well as assisting & previewing a few members of the bridal party prior to the event regarding hair design and make-up application. Without reservation, I would highly recommended Cielo. The bride was radiant on her day and as we departed salon, the girls experienced what had been envisioned! I have been going to Cielo Salon & Spa since it opened and have never gone back to my old salon. Cielo is located just off the I95 exit in Wilminton, DE and is about as convenient as it gets for business professionals. Speaking of professional, that is exactly how I would describe the staff and services at Cielo. This salon is in a great location and is quite elegant and well equipped. All of the people with whom I came in contact were most pleasant and attentive. I had a facial, neck and shoulder massage, which seemed to last forever and was most professional. Little talk and all business. Very impressive and special place. For every bad review there are scores of happy customers but it is usually only the unhappy customer who takes the time to share their experience. There are also some people who write reviews who are crude individuals who seem to enjoy the sport of ridiculing people, and services, and apparently see themselves as some sort of lofty journalists rather than ignorant sociopaths . read more

I received a gift certificate from my daughter for Christmas and decided it to use it today/Feb. 1st '17 as I had the day off from work, didn't want to be rushed or in on a busy Saturday. I had a mani/pedi with Ludas who was an absolute sweetheart, so soft-spoken, kind and gentle and did a great job. Also got a scalp and hair conditioning which was great, and also worked with the owner of the spa, Laron, and she was sweet as she could be. I hope I get another gift cert. but if I don't I will go back for other services. Thank you for making my birthday so much better! read more
