Looking for a salon that doesn't care? Look no further, friend! I asked for an ombre, got charged for a balayage, and left with neither! Yay me. The manager, Ali, kindly informed me that a balayage and an ombre are the same thing. Silly me. When I tried to schedule a private time to meet with the owner, Lori, I was ignored for months, and ultimately dismissed. I even sent an email from another address and got an instant response, proving they were indeed ignoring me and not temporarily unavailable.It's clear that Lori (the owner) doesn't care about new customers and is content with just her current ones. Getting that from other reviews now too. Crazy thing is, I would see my stylist again honestly, if she worked elsewhere. I don't think they even told her I wanted to come back in. She probably would've been able to fix it easily because I know she's seasoned and talented. She will remain unnamed. I can forgive a mistake that made my hair so uneven and try again with a stylist, but I can't forgive Lori's lack of compassion and humanity. It's been three months. I tried to be professional and respectful, tried for months to speak privately to not cause a disruption. I don't ever do this - I'm not an internet troll just hiding behind a screen posting bad reviews instead of talking like an adult. I'm just tired. I'm so tired of this. It's been too long and they just can't do this to people. How can you run a business like this? Another salon fixed my hair, for free. Just think about that for a second. It was that bad. I recently received a haircut for the first time in many years from here and I am honestly devastated with the outcome. I knew I was in desperate need of at least a trim as I had grown my hair out so long and it had become very brittle and thin towards the end. It went down to my waist when straightened. I called and booked an appointment with whoever was available as I was hoping to get the quick haircut and get it out of the way (something I have extreme regrets about now). The stylist was an older woman and was nice enough. I explained my situation to her and explained that I was not looking to cut too much of it off and just wanted a trim. She held up my hair and asked how I felt about cutting it to that specific length. I asked her explicitly how much hair that would be and she said verbatim "about 4 to 5 inches." I agreed and emphasized back to her that I had been thinking 4 inches off. I decided to trust the process but once she was about half way done, I knew I absolutely hated it. I am not confrontational and tend to be very shy and I knew the damage had already been done so I did not want to cause a huge fuss about it. It had also been so long since I had received a haircut, I had convinced myself it wasn't as short as I thought it was. I paid $63 and tipped my stylist over 20%. As the day went on and I had more time to look in the mirror and play around with it, I realized that she had cut a HUGE amount more off than we had agreed on. I was still in denial of just how short it was and washed it again myself hoping that washing the curls and product out would make it look a little bit longer. When that obviously failed, I immediately broke down into tears. We ended up measuring it and she cut off a grand total of 14-16 inches of hair. More than TEN INCHES than she said she would. My waist long hair now barely sits at my shoulders and I have no idea how to style it as my hair has not been this short since childhood. I have spent the past few days completely devastated, embarrassed, lacking confidence, and not even recognizing myself. If I had known this stylist was going to completely ignore all of my wishes and do whatever she wanted, I wish it could've at least have been donated, but of course this was not the case. She cut all my hair off without my consent and for simply no reason. I am so genuinely upset that this not only happened, but then cost me $63 plus tip for something that has brought an unbelievable amount of sadness to me. I am trying so hard to remind myself that "it's just hair" but that's easier said than done considering how my confidence is now shattered and I feel a heavy burden over me. Had a horrible experience. Appointment to cover roots on Tuesday by Thursday the color was gone? never had this issue at other salons. I'm guessing they are using the cheapest worst hair product. complete wast of money. Do not waste your time or money. I rather stain my forehead, neck and hands by dying my own hair at home. So I got the foil/cut groupon and I set my standards pretty low, as I've realized groupon can be hit or miss. I walk in on a week day and see a bunch of elderly ladies getting their weekly helmet head, just like my Nanny. I was scared at first, but I needn't be. Lori Lord was my stylist and she did an AMAZING job. She foiled my hair in nice small pieces (I hate, hate, hate chunkier highlights they look so unnatural), the coloring was perfect (not too blonde) and the cut was exactly what I like. I'm used to paying much more too. She was friendly and knowledgeable. She took her time and didn't rush (another pet peeve of mine with stylists). I walked out of there a new, refreshed woman. Have been going to this great salon for many years, getting great cuts and color from Lori Rideout. One day I dared to mention growing out my natural color which I knew was some kind of gray. I was worried I would look washed out or older but Lori assured me that it could be reversed if I didn't like it and answered the zillion questions I had. From the first procedure it had a definite authentic hue so I didn't need to hide out or cover my hair. After every visit it kept looking better and better. It now looks fantastic, quite light, and I don't look washed out. Friends and family really like it and someone even said I look younger! If anyone is contemplating this journey, take it with Lori. If you buy the living social deals for this place don't expect to get your money's worth. The facial I got was okay, but no extraction or steam (which is my favorite part!). She said she only does it if asked. The manicure was sad. She said she doesn't have the time to spend 1.5 hours with someone for the price that we pay. They also said since they did the paraffin first, it softened the skin so that no soaking or other things were needed. Maybe that's how they do it in Delaware? read more

I bought a living social deal for this place because it seemed like a good deal and I really really wish I had read the other reviews for Fusion beforehand. I purchased a hair cut and full foil deal for $63. I handed the hair dresser a picture of how I wanted my foils done, and she immediately tells me that she can't get my hair that color because my hair is naturally dark brown. I'm not new to having highlights in my hair and have had them pure white before with no issues. In the picture I showed her didn't have the girl even having that light of highlights. She then tells me she needs to talk to the owner really quick to see what she says. 5 minutes later and smelling of a freshly smoked cigarette, she comes back and tells me that the only way the owner will agree to do my hair is if I pay $15 for toner and another $20 for a keratin treatment. She said otherwise, I could just call Living Social and get my money back. This should've raised a huge alarm for me. I should've had the intelligence to call her bluff and leave, but I had already found a sitter for my baby. I was already there, and I made a purely stupid mistake and agreed to her terms. After the foils were done, she told me the color came out a nice almost white hue. So I said that maybe we didn't need the toner, and she then says that we still need it because there are some parts that are orangish. She puts the toner in and after washing out starts complaining about how much she hates the color it made my hair. She said my hair was now muddy colored. I was at the bowl for this so I never got the see the actual color before or after the toner. She then goes and consults with the owner again and comes back and starts just covering all the hair that she had already foiled before with bleach mixed with water to get some of the toner out. So basically she got me the color I needed, put toner over it and ruined it, and then had to take the toner out! Basically she added at least another hour to my time at the salon and put my hair through more than it needed for nothing. Once this was all done, she put the $20 keratin treatment in my hair. This literally consisted of her spraying my hair with like 6 spritzes from a bottle. She then cut my hair, blew it dry, and then flat ironed it. The result was horrible. It looked absolutely nothing like the picture I gave her. And all in all I was at the salon over 4 hours for a horrible foil job and my hair cut was choppy and I hate it. The color my highlights ended up being wasn't blonde, but orange and even brown in some spots. The strands were tiny and all over the place. It was god awful horrible. I wouldn't recommend this place period. read more

I've been going to Fusion for about 4 years now. Before that I just walked into any hair place that was open when I felt that my hair was too long. I have kept coming back because the girls that work there make it a great place to go. I'm not sure how many times it was before they knew my name, or at least recognized me on sight, but it was quick. This impressed me for some reason and I felt like I was a valued customer. I've got my hair cut by about half of the stylists there, and never really had a complaint how they cut it. Being a guy, I realize that I don't have real high expectations but still, more than worth it. I hear they do lots of other treatments, such as nails and facials, but I can't vouch for the quality of the services but I would bet they are good. If you need a trim, go visit. read more

Yesterday I had my bridal trial and I cannot say enough great things! Lindsay had been so attentive via email since I found the salon on a website. I was so happy with our exchange, I jut felt so comfortable speaking with her. She's been so helpful with any questions I may have or have had. Yesterday I arrived early and the girls at the desk were very sweet and greeted me right away. I was taken to do makeup first, unfortunately with all of my nerves I forgot the sweet girls name! I think it was Marissa, but besides that it was an incredible hour. She was so excited to work with me and made my look a reality. We clicked instantly, I explained my vision and the horror story I had from our engagement shoot at a different salon. She assured me and put my mind at ease. It was so fun working with her and chatting about bands we liked, tattoos, just everything under the sun. My final look was INCREDIBLE! It was very weird though because I hadn't gotten my hair done yet haha. So looking at my made up face without makeup was pretty funny to see. As soon as I took my hair out of the ponytail, OH MY GOODNESS! My makeup was so perfect! Next I met with Lindsay to do my hair, I showed her my picture idea of my hair, gave her my extensions and she made it perfect. We totally connected as well talking about dogs and different wedding things. I was smiling the entire appointment. Everyone in the salon complimented me before I left and I really could not feel anymore support from them yesterday. I am SO GLAD that I found this salon and cannot wait to work with them on my wedding day. My hair and makeup wore so well yesterday. I left the salon at around 1:45 and had my bridal shower. It was hot as all get out yesterday and usually humidity would have ruined my hair, but not this time. My makeup and hair made it all the way until I took the extensions out and washed my face well after midnight. I cannot sing their praises anymore than I did today and yesterday. I've tried other salons on the area and always end up back at Fusion. The staff is great, Lindsay is the best and the prices can't be beat. I've never been disappointed. Ok, I am literally writing this in the parking lot of the salon. I bought a Living Social deal for a Keratin treatment and cut. Stopped in yesterday and was greeted by Stacy who was extremely welcoming and friendly. I liked the atmosphere of the salon immediately. To my surprise, I was even given an appointment for the very next day! Decided to also get my color done because let's face it, who cares how smooth your hair looks if it's fifty shades of gray. All I can say is AMAZING EXPERIENCE! Jen was my stylist and she was excellent with matching my color, and cutting my hair so that it no longer looks ridiculously thick at the top. Her personality and sense of humor made the time fly by and honestly, I had a blast talking with her. If anyone is looking for a great stylist, I highly recommend Jen. Lori (the owner) has done my hair for years--I mean, I live in Manhattan and come down to DE to get my hair done because she's that good. I knew that NO ONE else could do my hair for my wedding! I only had some vague ideas and what Lori did was nothing short of GORGEOUS--I got so many compliments not only on the day of my wedding but by everyone who saw the pictures. I had never had my makeup done before but Marissa took exactly what I said (even though again, I was a bit vague) and made me look EXACTLY how I wanted to (subtle, glowing). Lori and Marissa also did all of my bridesmaid's hair and we had such a great time doing it! They brought music and it was such a fun way to get ready for my wedding day. Okay. One star might seem a little unwarranted. BUT in this case, NO, IT IS NOT. I came to this salon because I was low on money and had purchased a groupon for highlights and a cut. Most reviews for this place were pretty positive, so I figured I'd be okay. As you can probably guess, I was wrong. This mistake began with me entering the salon and waiting about an hour to be taken back into the salon area. I was really excited, as I had never dyed my hair before and I was getting a total makeover- I was dyeing my hair red, though I am a natural brunette. The stylist (I forget her name, but she was one of the two "color specialists" that fusion said would honor the groupon) started off kind of standoffish. She was complaining about clients that bought the groupon, but have extremely long hair so she should have been paid more. I don't know why she said these things to me, because I have shoulder length hair and yeah that was weird. But I let it go, and became distracted by her talking. She talked ALOT. LIke, would not let me get a word in, alot. I kept showing her pictures of exactly what I wanted. At this point in my life, I was barely sixteen, this was almost a year ago, so my thing was 'emo hair'. She told me I couldn't have my bangs cut the way I wanted because my hair was not the right texture, which I understood and we struck a deal. Let her do what she thought was best, and she'd give me something I'd love. She reassured me literally 11 times, after me prompting her a few times with "This doesn't look anything like the picture", that "I KNOW WHAT I AM DOING I WENT TO BEAUTY SCHOOL JUST TRUST ME OK YOU'LL LOVE IT". Not exactly those words, but something along those lines that made me feel so stupid to the point where I just shut up and let her go on. Final product comes out, after HOURS, like FIVE HOURS, of me sitting there- SHE GAVE ME A F***ING MULLET. A MULLET. NO JOKE. NO EXAGGERATION. A MULLET. MY HAIR WAS BRIGHT RED. AND IT SMELLED LIKE CHEMICALS, NO MATTER HOW MUCH I WASHED IT, IT TOOK A WEEK TO STOP STINKING. The color faded to orange after about a week. I didn't have enough money to get it fixed elsewhere, and I refused to step back into this godforsaken place EVER AGAIN. I tipped her, as I was afraid she'd yell at me, then went home crying because she had literally RUINED MY HAIR AND I HAD TO WALK AROUND SCHOOL FOR TWO MONTHS WITH A MULLET. THE DYE SHE USED KILLED MY HAIR TO THE POINT WHERE I HAD TO CUT IT ABOVE MY CHIN. DO NOT GO HERE. EVER. Worst experience I have ever had. read more

I can guarantee I will never go here again. I was appalled by the rudeness and lack of effort. I bought a living social shellac deal and was treated very poorly. I rarely get manicures so anytime I do, it is usually a treat. The woman clearly was not into the manicure, she didn't even take the time to trim my cuticles. She came up with some excuse for why she was not soaking my nails and I was under the impression that I was wasting her time. I thought the point of a livingsocial deal was to advertise and get the costumer to come back. I wouldn't pay $17 again let alone the full price of $28. I asked for a french tip and she didn't even go the whole way across the top with the white. So now I have a "french manicure" but the white tip isn't complete. I wish I had read Angela F.'s review before buying a Brazilian Blowout on Living Social. I was very disappointed with the result. I've had Brazilian Blowouts before so I know what to expect. My regular stylist thinks they didn't use a hot enough iron and i believe it because the equipment they used looked like it was bought at the WaWa next door; definitely not professional. If you've had this service before, you know that after they rinse the product all they need to do is dry your hair and it looks great. She had me turned away from the mirror for the majority of the time and flat ironed my hair again after the rinse and blow dry. I should have known then that something wasn't right. When I called to tell them that I wasn't happy with the service, they were very nice and agreed to let me come in and have it redone by another stylist. My problem is that I have another Brazilian Blowout that expires in January at a nice salon in Philadelphia. Fusion was only willing to give me until the end of the year to have it redone which would make me have to choose between going back to Fusion or going to the nice salon in Philadelphia. I think I'm going to just forget about the $180 and two hours of my life spent at Fusion. Not to sound like a snob, but I'm not sure which was worse, the white tulle and beads used as window treatments or the artificial flowers with glitter on the tables. Was definitely the tackiest salon I've ever been to. I definitely would not recommend this place unless you have absolutely no standards. I will say that Lindsay, the person I spoke with on the phone was very courteous but that doesn't make up for the fact that I spent $180 to waste my time and expose myself to chemicals for nothing. read more
