She was super friendly (and so was everyone else) and offered me a drink, snack, etc. I booked to get my hair colored, it was a mess beforehand, so I wanted a little help. Just finished getting my hair done with Naomi. I've been coming here for 5 yrs about every 6wks, so it's time to update my review and say I'm still here and still loving this shop! I wanted to post a pic bc I love my hair but I do not like my face so there's that. You don't get a pic but here's my feelings about this shop! I love my hair every time I leave here. I always ask Naomi to just make me pretty and she does it every time! Sometimes I walk in and I'm blonde enough and just interested in covering my greys and other times I need a fresh look and she gives me brightness. I've never felt let down on how pretty my hair color is when I leave. My hair is healthier than it has ever been thanks to her guidance on shampoos and products that match my nappy hair! Thank goodness for young people! I have gone to the same hairdresser for 40 years but now we're both retiring and I never like to have to shop around for someone to cut my hair. I hate writing bad reviews but I feel this is important for potential costumers. I came in for a gel pedicure and was offered the promo for a free lash tint. The lash tint was a mess. I wish I wouldn't have gotten it. The dye was all over my lids and under eye- making it look like I failed to remove my mascara from the day before. My pedicure was nice. However, I was not aware that a scrub, soak, and gel paint would cost $65. I was expecting to be there for around an hour but walked out just under 2 hours later. Allison I think also know as Ally at salon and spa fifth Avenue in Layton did a horrible job on my hair I would not recommend her to anyone I went back to get it fixed a second time after she did the complete opposite of what I asked for in the beginning, she was very unprofessional rude and had somebody else wash my hair and blow it out, not once did she get up to see how it turned out, she sat and got her nails done. As I was leaving She said the reason why I didn't get what I wanted in the first place was because of what she was charging me and I would have to pay more because they were not Dollar cuts or Smart cuts When personally I have seen people get much better hair colors done at Smart cuts and Dollar cuts even the beauty schools. I came in to this place 2 .5 years ago when i had bleached my hair and colored it like a clown. Naomi fixed me up that day, seriously spent almost all day. I then decided to be an idiot and use a couple of box dyes and totally trashed my hair (and self confidence). I came over a year ago in August 2020 and Krista set me up with a maintenance plan to get my hair growing thicker, fuller and longer. 6 months after that I asked her her thoughts on getting extensions put in my hair. Well, we made it happen! I am a triathlete, so I am extremely rough on my hair and skin. I go in every 5 weeks to have my eyelashes tinted, my eyebrows tinted (by Korlee)and my extensions lifted by Krista. It has been the most relaxing experience. They make you feel so welcome, offer you a drink, let you sit and relax in their massage chairs, have smiles on their faces and have real concersations with you. They have also cut and styled my 3 daughters' hair and made them comfortable. Dawn made my 6 year old feel like a princess. .I never thought I would find a salon that could meet my needs and be a home away from home. I cant say enough good about them. Their decor is on point, prices are what you would expect to see in a quality salon, and the ladies tthat work there are so talented and amazing. I will never go anywhere else. read more

I'll bought the package from the marketer as I thought it was a great deal. Guess it was too good to be true. They waxed my eyebrows and ripped my skin off! It was extremely painful and I got a permanent scar and my skin sags a bit on that side. I wanted a refund of what I paid or at least a different package. I came here with a friend to get ready for my wedding. We both got hair and makeup done. Some guy did my hair, I showed him a picture of the curls I wanted so that there wouldn't be any confusion, well he did not do anything I had asked and instead have me super lose waves. I hated them. I told him I did not want this and he "tried" to fix it but in reality he curled a few pieces and that was that. My friends hair turned out exactly how she wanted (I wish her lady would of done my hair). Our makeup wasn't anything great, honestly I could of done a better job. I bought the marketing package for Salon Spa and Fifth Avenue and had a great experience. I tried just about everything and had a fantastic pedicure, facial and hair appointment. I also had my makeup and hair done for our family pictures and they came out fabulous! I would highly recommend this spa. The skill level is not there. I asked for black almond stilleto nails and she gave me white tip acrylics with black acrylic paint over them and not polish. Not one nail is the same shape as the other. One is pointed, one rounded, etc... You see the white tip framing the black "painting". She gave herself a $9 dollar tip and it was just an awful nail job. I ended up having to try and reshape them my self and putting my own nail polish over. I'll probably just have to have them redone somewhere else. Absolutely ridiculous. read more

Asked for formal style up do & make up. Definitely wasn't expecting the styles I received. Hair was done well but the make up was too "soft." Granted I should have said something but to price me for make up I could have done on my own was not practical. Customer service wasn't bad but perhaps the service provided wasn't too up to date in terms of trendiness. It could have just been the person I was assigned to as well. Do not go to this shop! Do not have Danielle cut you hair. I went in asking for a simple haircut and she gave me a mullet. She charged $30 and I felt like I had to run home and redo my hair because the style was so horrific. I called to complain and told the girl on the phone that I did not want to speak to Danielle, she told me I would have to pay to have my fixed/cut by anyone else. I could not believe it. Both Danielle and the owner called me back, but when I tried to return their calls, they would not call me back. I went from shoulder length hair to a vey short haircut to fix the mess Danielle made. I had an awful experience with this salon. I had booked a trial run for my wedding both hair and makeup. The day before my scheduled appointment I got a call from the owner Krista telling me the makeup artist had a family emergency and we would need to reschedule. We rescheduled for 3/30 and on 3/29 I got a call from the salon again telling me there was an issue and that the airbrush machine was broken. They said I could still come in for the trial run custom blend foundation. On the day i went in for my trial run, I was met with Emma who did my hair. The end result was awful, she put so much product in it that it looked wet and heavily weighed down. She told me we could fix this on my wedding day and then passed me off to the makeup artist Korlee. Korlee "custom" blended a foundation color that was 3 shades too dark for my very fair skin. I also have deep hollow set dark circles and i stressed how much I wanted these hidden. She didn't even attempt to conceal them or color correct. The end result of my makeup trial run left me with deep dark brown circles, a very tan face, and different colored eye shadows and blushes. She suggested I go wash off my face before leaving. Upon payment for services they tried charging me full special occasion pricing of $90, which when I scheduled the appointment Krista told me it would only be $40. Now, if you want clients to pay full price for a trial run then I better be able to walk out of the building looking like I could go to a special occasion. The other incident that happens is the makeup artist told me the airbrush machine would be fixed by 4/11 and that she would call me to come back in and test the colors. I never received a call. I called today 4/20 to see what is going on because my wedding is 9 days away and they tell me the airbush machine has broken again. Luckily I have secured a much more reliable hair and makeup artist for my wedding. Save yourself the worry and hassle and go to another salon. read more
