Love Salon Bleu. Kaitlyn is my stylist and colorist. She is amazing and super knowledgeable and talented about hair and color! I came to Salon Bleu because my previous salon, I was fifteen minutes late getting to my appointment and the only appointments they had for me were weeks away and I needed serious help. So I called around and found Salon Bleu and Kaitlyn answered the phone. We had a discussion about my naturally curly hair and what I needed. I have been her customer for months now and said good bye to the other salon. I'm grateful I found Salon Bleu. They know a lot about how to work with naturally curly hair and few salons and stylists really know how to deal with this hair texture. My hair has grown so much longer,healthier and so beautifully because of her help. I came with not very short hair but length was above middle of back and it had issues, color issues. Kaitlyn helped get my hair into a better place and a wonderful and beautiful growing path. I have had several appointments and I'm very satisfied and impressed with Kaitlyn. I appreciate her kindness and how open and friendly she is. I also appreciate the knowledge she extends me about my hair, what is going on or about how she goes about the coloring process. I've been getting my hair cut by Jen for almost five years and even though we live 800 miles apart, I still only see her. Before her, I never went back to the same person; she is my stylist soulmate. I get a million compliments on my haircut and even when I don't see her for six months, it grows out perfectly. One thing that I love about Jen is that she usually cuts my hair dry, I had never had this before, but it totally makes a difference. And undercut, I swear this word wasn't in any of my prior stylists vocabulary, but Jen knows exactly what I want and gives me a haircut that can last 6 months between visits. read more

I got my haircut and I was happy with it. so i came back to do a bleaching and a dye and are they okay with it until I got home and then I noticed there were several parts of my hair that did not get covered with the dye so my brown stands out against my blue. So I am the master at impulse decisions. I woke up one morning and decided it was time to get my hair done. I called up and got an appointment in same day. I was excited. I went for a balayage. I'm in the process of going blonder. After 4 hours here with Kinley, she took me to this very pretty ashy blonde and my hair is definitely not damaged at all. She's so sweet and gentle. She can make and hold a conversation without trying too hard. I definitely look forward to returning to her for my next session. All the other ladies are very kind and helpful. They came over, voiced and opinion, talked with Kinley and helped push us in the right direction. They sure know how to make you feel wanted and beautiful here. I have only been to the salon once and this review is mostly about my stylist... The salon seems fine and I like the Kevin Murphy products they use. Sarah Martinez did a bang up job on my hair. I am sooo happy with it, even the next day after a hair wash and restyle. She did both cut and color. She dry cut my curly hair exactly as I communicated and spent more time then most would trying to balance out both sides and get the perfect shape for my face. I know I'm going to be the bad guy for this review but I have to speak on my experience. Manicure: walked in on a Wednesday it was very busy but they were able to help me right away. The nail tech was very lovely & sweet. My hands were not put in warm water i was not given a hand massage and her tools were not sterilized before the manicure! I just moved here from Los Angeles maybe I'm used to a different standard or maybe Utah doesn't require certain things. Pedicure: they gave me the first day fresh out of school worker lol not a big deal everyone needs a start but my gel polish was pretty bad lol she didn't clean up the edges and so when I stuck them in the light machine the edges dried pretty awkwardly. All in all staff was soooo nice but as far as mani pedi goes I won't be coming back. read more

Basically I payed $130 to sit in a chair for 4 hrs while a girl, Amy (who didnt know what she was doing) to completely burn my hair, and waste my time and money and then for the guy at the front desk to yell at my sister over the phone, who offered no solution, no refund, not even an apology, and then Blame me for having difficult hair! First off, the salon itself is nice and everybody there is extremely kind. The color I got was beautiful and what I wanted. The cut was not. My stylist cut way more off than I asked for and it ended up being not at all how I wanted it. I literally went home and cried. I had a picture of how I wanted it, length and all. I even asked again after the color if she wanted to see the picture and she said no, she didn't need to. I really hate the way it looks right now and am so disappointed. read more

This is a bit of a lengthy review but if you are considering giving business to this salon i recommend that you read this. I am sad to rate one star because my first visit was good. The stylist Julia was friendly and provided good results. Unfortunately my second visit, with the same stylist, was a totally different experience. The stylist reached out to me a few months after my first visit seeing if I wanted to schedule an appointment to touch up my dye. I responded within 48 hours to set up the appointment and even requested a second appointment for my mother. After a week of no response I text again to ask for a confirmation. I got a response the next day saying she never saw text but that my appointments were now scheduled. I was told upon arriving to the salon to wait in my car and call to check in before entering the salon, but when I arrived I called the salon 3 times in 15 minutes with no response and finally text the stylist directly and was told I was ok to come in 5 minutes later. The stylist applied the dye and after rinsing my hair waxed my eyebrows. I noticed a lot more of a sting on my left eye than normal (I have been getting my eyebrows waxed at various places for years). When I looked in the mirror I noticed a red welt under my eye brow. When I pointed it out to the stylist she just said it was normal redness and would go away. Unfortunately that was not the case I now have a noticeable scab that is about an inch and a half long under my eye. I believe that the wax was to hot and caused a blister. After my appointment I also noticed that there was still dye on my scalp (no, it was not a stain as it easily rinsed off with cold water). After leaving I called the salon and left a voicemail asking for the owner to call me back. Two days later instead of a call from the owner the stylist text me asking if everything was ok. I voiced my frustrations about the appointment and that I was very much upset that she tried to brush the damage to my eye under the rug. Rather than apologizing for the injury she said "I am sorry you feel like I brushed it under the rug". A very back handed apology that does not even acknowledge the mistake. I am very frustrated that I only heard from her and not from the owner as requested. Sad to say I will never return here because of this poor experience. I had a not-so-great experience here. A little background first: I've been growing my hair out and working really hard to keep it healthy and long. I went to my usual stylist at a different salon so I could go from blonde all over to more of a natural color with the balayage/ombre blonde thing that's in now. Well, despite showing old stylist several pictures, she just added a bunch of dark color to my hair, making it a muddy mess. No balayage, no ombre. So after reading many amazing reviews for Salon Bleu, I booked a last-minute appointment to get that balayage to help brighten things up. I'm not going to name my stylist because she was very nice and seemed to have good intentions. She really, really didn't like the dark color my past stylist added, but said it should wash out and fade in seven washes or so. Great, that was a relief to hear. She then did the balayage technique. She seemed to know what she was doing, she worked fast, she said the blonde was processing well. More relief. Then she took me to the sink to rinse, and that's where things got weird. Since the blonde lifted the dark color so well, she decided to do a "bleach bath" or "bleach wash" or something. I'd never heard of it, but basically she mixed bleach with shampoo and scrubbed it all over my hair. Didn't consult me, didn't explain any of the pros or cons, nada. I could tell she was getting nervous, she kept pacing around and checking on it. She takes me back to the chair, dries my hair then decides she needs to do a deep conditioning treatment. I'm feeling a bit panicked, especially since I noticed whatever she did turned my hair a golden, brassy, not pretty hue. After the deep conditioning, she semi-dried it again, took the cape off and sent me on my way. Now, I've been to a lot of stylists in my life. It's pretty standard to at least offer to style it and it's definitely standard to hand the client a mirror and show her the back of her head and how the color turned out. I was pretty terrified she'd made some kind of mistake and was trying to hide it. In the end, my hair looks a bit better than when I went it, but it's fried. Like, all those months -- years, really -- I've spent trying to get my hair healthy and shiny and long are down the drain. It's that weird gold-brass color all over. I paid a lot of $$, too, especially for Ogden. So it might look a little better than the muddled color I walked in with, but if I ultimately have to chop it all off and start over, was it worth it? I say no, definitely not. I'm just really disappointed in the lack of communication. Had she told me about this bleach bath and that it might sap my hair, I would've declined and taken the gradual fade from shampooing over time. The balayage seems to look good, but it's hard to see it with this weird brassy look I have going now. It seems these bleach baths make it ridiculously difficult to control the outcome of the process, too. I'd advise against them in all but the most desperate situations. That being said, this was one stylist (she's only been out of school six months) and a semi-unusual situation. I doubt it reflects on the whole salon, but I'd be wary about going there for any fixes or last-minute bookings. read more

I have found a new regular spot for my manicures and pedicures! Kim does such an amazing job with my nails and they always look beautiful. Jordan does my hair and I'm a bit of a freak about my hair. I love it long and she always cuts just enough off to keep my length but to make it look healthy. The salon is super clean and all the girls are really nice and friendly. They offer you a drink when you arrive and the owner gave me a $10 gift card for me to try a pedicure there. The prices are reasonable and well worth it. The pedicures are to die for! They dip your feet in hot wax which feels amazing! Overall this salon is amazing and I would totally recommend it! read more

I have to take a minute to RAVE about Salon Bleu. Not only is it located on 25th street, (which I love and is a super cute location) but the salon is clean presentable and the aesthetic is so welcoming! The staff are friendly and complementary, stylists who weren't doing my hair kept coming around telling me how great I looked! My stylist Janelle is simply incredible!!! She knows what she is doing, she will not do something to your hair if she knows it will cause too much damage, she makes sure you know what she is doing. On top of that she is simply a joy to be around, she is funny and happy and easily carries on a conversation, which as we all know a stylist that can't do that makes the 1+ hour visit awkward. I've had cuts by two stylists here, and both are very good. (I only switched because the one I was going to doesn't work on the day that's better for me to go in.) The facility is very clean and attractive, and the personnel are friendly. I've never been kept waiting for my appointment. Prices are a moderate, but you're paying for someone to take the time to do a good job. As shops get into more and more upscale services -- waxing, color, extensions, etc. -- it's getting easy to find someone who is a color or curl wiz, but harder to find someone who can do a top notch hair cut. After trying a lot of places in Ogden and getting a LOT of terrible haircuts (and I don't mean cheap ones, just bad ones), I am so happy to have found this place. read more

Janelle is AMAZING! After my long time hair stylist went into "baby retirement" I tried two other stylists who just couldn't get my blonde color or short stacked cut right before stumbling upon Janelle. My first appointment with Janelle at Salon Bleu was fantastic. She really listened to my concerns and was excellent at communicating/understanding my requests. I loved everything about my hair when I left Janelle's chair. I also wouldn't be afraid to tell her if I didn't end up liking something a couple days after the fact because she made it clear that it was no problem to call her after I had a couple days to play with my hair and decided I wanted more layers, a little more off the back, etc She is peach and knows her stuff. Wondrous! I'm from out of town and have in Vacation home in the Valley. I finally found somewhere great! And, what a wondrous stylist I have!!! Jordan, she's amazing...matched my color to perfection when touching up my roots. Cut was also incredible. And to top it off she offers other services....offered my mani/pedi gel nail polish and also my new lash extensions...I'm in utter awe over this Salon. And, yes....while Jordan receives a ton of credit....I do have to say...the initial call into the salon was what made me book an appointment. Absolutely the worst experience! I went in to blend my roots with my bright blonde and told her I didn't want Grey/silver and I needed the reddish color in my roots gone. I just wanted it to all blend with my bleach blonde. Well when she was all done it was not at all what I wanted!!! It was red and grey and looked stringy!!! I told her I didn't like it and she said it will look better after you wash it with purple shampoo. Also when I got home I still had color on the back of my neck! I called the manager the next day to see if they could fix it or get s refund. Absolute jerk!!!!!!!! Him and his wife are the owners and they were both absolutely horrible. He yelled at me on the phone for a good 20 minutes and would not let me speak he called me a spoiled bitch and said he doesn't give a shit about my hair. I will NEVER go back to this salon! I LOVED everyone at Salon Bleu! I made a last minute appointment and they got me in immediately. I had never been, so they gave me Ashley and she was the SWEETEST. I have a lot (and I mean a lot) of hair, and Ashley did a great job cutting it and then took the time to style it! Overall it took almost 2 hours for the cut and style, and it was only $30! I was thrilled. It was a big cut for me, and Ashley continued to make sure I was comfortable with the length and style. Overall, it was a phenomenal experience. My cousin recommend this place and the stylist (Sheridan). I went and had quite a few inches cut off and wanted to start the transition from my died red hair back to a light blonde. Sheridan did an awesome job on the color it looks great! She styled my hair and it looked awesome. A few days later I tried styling it myself and it wasn't laying quite right. I felt like maybe it needed to be shorter. I called the salon and talked to Sheridan she was able to get me in the next day. I went back and she fixed it for me. She basically did a whole new cut, and did a wash and style as well. I LOVE my haircut! It's perfect! I will definitely be going back and recommending it. read more

I was looking around on the internet to find the best nail salons, and when I come across Salon Bleu, I got really excited because they seemed like a great place, with great service that would be able to understand what I wanted and know exactly what to do. When I called to ask for a price, not even asking for an appointment, a woman answered that sounded like she clearly didn't want to be there, only to rudely inform me that no one is taking new clients. I am extremely disappointed, I was very excited to find a professional nail salon and find it very unprofessional that they turn new faces away. Very rude. Went here for a root touch up and a trim. She did good on the color and trim. But left hair color in my hair by my ears and at the nape of my neck. Blow dried my whole head and didn't even realize?
