My hair is finally long and the highlights are perfect ( and have been since my first appt with her). I drive 2.5 hours each way to get my hair done by her and I would drive 8 hours if I had to. I called just for a haircut and they gave me an appointment for a little bit later the same day which surprised me but I was pleased. They said the price was $45 which is much cheaper than what I pay where I live. The issue is that the girl that cut my hair is just learning ( therefore the price I assume) I could have someone at home do my haircut. I don't mind someone learning but another senior person at the salon should have come to review and show this girl how to do it better, so right now I'm still in need of a good haircut and out of $55 with the tip. We have stuck with her for the last three years now! She is fantastic and attentive with all of her clients. The new location is quite a nice change! I liked the Oakwood location, but I no longer have to worry about parking and traffic by the plaza. The Curtis Van Davis house has a laid-back atmosphere and nice layout with multiple rooms for appointments, the front desk, and even a spot in the front for coffee and snacks while you wait. My stylist did a great job on the top of my long hair, and I didn't notice till I got home (lots of glare in the salon) that the bottom front areas had no highlights. I'd spent nearly $200 and got less than expected, so I called to see if the stylist could just put two more highlights in. Was told that bc I couldn't come in right away, since I was going out of town for 10 days, there would be a charge for a "redo." Corporate policy. I explained that I was traveling and couldn't come in for almost two weeks, and didn't need a redo anyway, just two highlights, one on each side. It didn't matter. This was not Hanes Mill Rd as given in the pulldown, but another in Winston-Salem, and I assume all salons would be as rigid.
