Great at blowouts horrible at hair cuts. Was told that I could get a curly cut, and as a result I look like I have a bob in the front (thats generous, the hair in front ends at my eyes) and then goes down to waist length hair. Not only is it not blended at all and completely incorrect and inconsistent to my curl pattern, the cut in the front is not even even. My right side is an inch shorter than my left, not even straightening this could fix it it genuinely looks terrible. I have to get extensions and my hair fixed completely at my salon at home when the school year ends. Not acceptable, don't market you can do something if you can't. Also charged me 100$ when she said it would be at no cost so....take with this what you will.... read more

I ended up walking in on a Saturday around lunchtime to get my hair curled for a wedding. A girl took me immediately and did a fantastic job on my hair. I also meet the owner while I was in there. Super nice people with great service! I definitely recommend trying this place. read more

I was in Baton Rouge for a short visit and called ahead for a walk-in appointment. I was told to come in now and someone was available for my shampoo and style service. Upon arrival, my temperature was taken by Grace. Shortly thereafter, my service was started. The salon was very clean and staff was professional. As I "people-watched", I noticed that the stylist remained engaged in conversation with each of their clients. Grace and I were able to connect in discussion of the Pandemic, the affect it had on the temporary closure of the salon and her eagerness to return to work. I want to reiterate my appreciation for my service as I understand that in school, each student is taught to complete services on multi-cultural clients. However, some salons (as I travel the US for business & pleasure) shy away from African-American hair. This salon was not the case. Thanks again Grace for your professionalism and your amazing work. Wonderful experience! My hair stylist was Kelly, and she was really nice, listened well to what I wanted, and gave me exactly the cut I was looking for. She did a great job. The salon experience was also positive. The salon takes the COVID-19 precautions seriously - everyone was wearing face masks, and you have to wait in your car until they're ready for you. My one piece of advice to the salon is that if a hair stylist is running behind, they may want to call the client and give them a heads up about that. It's a bit warm to sit in one's car without air conditioning, and environmentally problematic to run the air conditioner for an extended period of time while the car idles. But that issue isn't specific to The Hair Show, and they did a lovely job on my hair. read more

Today was my first visit to The Hair Show, but it will definitely not be the last. I used a Groupon coupon for a shampoo, cut, & style by SALLY*. I was very impressed with her cutting & styling skills, as well as her professional, approachable personality. I came in not really knowing what exact style I was looking for, but Sally was able to help me choose a look that flatters my face shape, & is realistic in terms of the level of styling skills I possess. I have very fine hair, which generally lacks body, but the cut she gave me GREATLY increased the amount of movement (swing?) it has...As a matter of fact, I can't stop swinging my head from side to side just because my hair is so bouncy & soft ! During my appointment, we discussed hair care for my hair type, & she gave me some great tips to help keep my hair healthy between cuts. The Groupon deal made this fantastic Salon Service a really great bargain, but honestly the service I received would have been a bargain even at the regular Salon price. I think I may finally have found the stylist/salon for me!! Go see Sally at The Hair Show - tell her Cricket sent you!!!! Yayyyy p.s. the salon is clean, nicely decorated - without feeling "intimidating" - the entire staff is friendly and helpful, & there's loads of parking just outside the door. I had a good time and the place was very professional. Right as I came in I was given great service. Morgan my stylist that day was very kind to my hair, which is thin, and did everything in a timely manner with giving a fun blow out . By the time I was heading out the door I was planning for my next appointment. The only problem I have with the place is that the atmosphere is very intimidating and off putting for me. Wish it was a little more relaxed but I understand people need to make their money. read more

I'm having a baby tomorrow, and with 12 weeks of maternity leave I decided to put some fun color in my hair since that sort of thing isn't allowed at work! I've never before had my hair professionally dyed, and the last time I used a box color was 10 years ago in high school, so this was a very exciting day for me!! I set the appt about a month in advance, then had some pregnancy troubles that took me out of work a week early. Kristi was able to move me up and see me a day sooner. It took a little over three hours for her to lighten, dry, and rinse my natural hair, then dry and color, then shampoo and dry and style it. She knew what to do so the color would blend, and also how to make my natural hair look good with the dye, as my plan is a shoulder-length cut in three months to get the color out before returning to work. She said if I need to we can highlight or lowlight the ends of my cut if there's still pink. I haven't felt very attractive the past few weeks as I've neared the end of my pregnancy, but with my gorgeous pink locks I'm preening every time I pass a mirror!! Thank you, Kristi!! read more

This joint is where you wanna get your haircut. They'll give you a sick haircut. I cannot tell a lie. Well, only white lies but the stylists here are really really good, promise. I tend to be fairly particular about my cuts and try to stay a bit ahead of the curve. The stylist knew exactly what I wanted and gave me a few recommendations on what would look good. I chose The Hair Show because they advertised as "corrective color specialists" since another hair salon in town turned my hair brassy. I spoke at length with Kelli (the owner) and other members of the salon and was assured that they could fix my hair and it would not turn brassy. I had it done about 6 weeks ago; it did turn brassy, and Kelli said she would be sure to make it "right" so I was happy. Since then, I have sent numerous emails and left numerous messages and have received no reply or resolution. My hair is still brassy. This industry is based on customer service and happy clients. I did not receive good customer service and am extremely unhappy with my hair. $150 later, I need to find somewhere else to correct their mistake. read more
