I booked an appointment for their HALO Signature Facial (60 minutes). For only $85, I can't complain about the service at all. Ella did an amazing job ensuring I was comfortable and understood my skincare needs, despite being relatively new. She was very gentle and professional. The products used smelled great and felt very nice and luxurious. Application was relaxing. The massage was a bonus. The pressure was just fine for me. The sound track they played was calming, which I expected for this kind of experience. If I were to nitpick, I'd prefer more steam, a more thorough extraction for my nose pores (I could still see my nose pores were not clear), and a little bit more pressure with the product application around the nose area, but that's just my preference and what I'm used to. I will request that at my next booking! For the environment, I do wish it were in a little bit more secluded area because it's pretty much in the center of the salon so you can hear EVERYONE'S conversation. So it was a bit noisy for a "luxurious spa" experience. But for the price, you really can't complain. I've only ever gone to Spavia (SUPER luxurious), so my expectations might be a little up there since I've never gotten a facial at a Salon specific place before. It's definitely a drastic difference environment-wise, but it makes sense for the price. You really can't beat it. I'll be coming back! Hopefully as Ella gets more experience and learns more about my skin and what I like, it'll only get better from here on out. She's really nice and accommodating! read more

Worst experience at a salon. Went in for a partial highlight root touch up, took way longer than it should have, came out looking THE EXACT SAME. Now I have to pay to go get it done somewhere else. Wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. read more

I had my first color job at this salon on Monday. It was the worst one I had. For whatever reason, the color did not take. The stylist seemed to know it when she started the blowout. She told me something to the effect of, "It just looks like that when you have grey." No, it doesn't. I took photos of what my hair looks like four days later--it looks like nothing was done at all. I plan to contact the salon this morning to see what can be done. I will be going to another salon to get it fixed. In short, it was very disappointing. read more

I went to this salon for the first time and saw Anna for a haircut. I have medium to long hair and wanted to go back to having bangs. I didn't feel like talking much after a long day at work, which worked out well because Anna was fine with minimal conversation. The shampoo and conditioning process was fairly nice, and they even finish off the conditioning with a hot towel wrap. It would have been nice to have a neck pad though on the wash bowl. My stylist really took her time with the cut and blow dry, which was great since I didn't have anything scheduled after my appointment, but would be a bit of an issue otherwise. I was pleased overall with my haircut, even though my bangs are a little shorter than what I was looking for - but I'm not too worried because they will grow. The absolute worst salon experience I've ever had in my 54 years. Stylists that are woefully under educated or experienced to be doing anything but the basic color/cut. The salon owner, Amanda is rude and passive aggressive. Take my advice and run, don't walk to a different salon. I'm sure Amanda will come here and refute my review, but I have photo proof of the 7 hours I spent getting my hair colored, then their attempt to fix it, and then I had to meet with Amanda to have her examine my hair, photograph it under their lights and then have her fit me on the following week to fix it, which took another 2 hours. The 2 hours I was in her chair, she said not 1 word to me and ignored me the entire time. I would expect this from a recent graduate or someone at a chain salon, but not from the Owner of a salon that charges $150+ for color. read more

I've had my hair done at Salon Halo by multiple stylists and they've all been fantastic. I love that I barely do anything to it and it looks great. Just popped into Halo Salon to see if I could get an eyebrow wax. Upon my arrival the phone was ringing off the hook (and never did get answered) After a minute, a girl came to the counter from the back to "assist" me. There were two stylists one, who was giving a haircut and the one who came from the back. There was one other woman in the salon whose hair was being processed. (Other than that there was no one there). I asked if I could get an eyebrow wax and she asked me to come back in a 1/2 hour because they were both "busy". Well, the one girl was. The other one came from the back of the shop, but said she couldn't do it, which I didn't understand since her clients hair was processing). think I may have interrupted her lunch, The phone NEVER did get answered but just continued ringing off the hook. When I scheduled the appointment, I had said what I was thinking I wanted for a color, but I changed my mind before my appointment, still undecided. I am a Robbinsdale resident and was curious of Salon Halo when they opened. I dont get my hair done very often, but I did want to do something special for my 30th birthday party that was coming up in 2 days. My husband booked an appointment there for me as a birthday present. I went in on a Thursday night at 7:00pm, I didnt leave there until after 10:00pm. I was there for over 3 hours getting my hair dyed. The girl who did my hair was very nice, however, I dont think she knew how to do the type of color I wanted. I wanted dark brown on top and for it to fade into lighter brown on the ends, called an Ombre or Color melt. On the website for a color melt it said $90.00. I was ok with that thinking it would be close to that at least. I did have just about 3 cm of regrow she said she had to " touch up". This touch up costs another $60. Wouldnt that color on the top of my head be part of the color melt I am paying $90 for? She went ahead and did the touch up and bleached the ends of my hair. I did have a reddish brown in my hair before the appointment. When she did the bleach my hair turned HOT PINK in spots. By this time it was so late I was so annoyed I wanted to get out of there I told her is was fine. I went to ring out and it was $170 plus a $30 tip. I just paid $200 for HOT PINK hair with some blondish/ brown ends, I went home and cried, Happy 30th Birthday!!! I went to work the next day and spoke to the people I work with who all thought it was horrible. I called the salon and asked to speak to the manager because I wanted my money back. The manager says she cant help me and I need to deal with the person who did my hair, she rents a chair. I understand that but, it is your salon right? It is your name on the product right? Then you should have to make sure everyone is happy. So next the girl who does my hair calls me back and leaves me a message saying she would like to have me come back so she can fix it. Umm no thank you, you messed up my hair so bad before my birthday and party, why would I want you near my hair again. I listened to her message and called her back, of course she didnt answer, left her a message saying I was going to another salon to get it fixed and I wanted her to either pay for that or just give me my money back. Surprisingly she never called me back. I havent heard from her or the manager since. Worst experience I have ever had in a salon, and worst management I have ever seen as well. For a brand new business I thought they would try to do better for their customers, guess not!!!!! read more
