I was searching for a place to get a haircut because my stylist is currently not available. I saw they took the Rad card so that was even better. After reading the yelp reviews and the one bad review I decided to give the salon a chance. I reached out to Denise to schedule an appointment. I was seen promptly at 11:30 my appointment time, and offered a refreshment. I showed pictures and explained what I wanted, Denise listened and made recommendations. She was very attentive and understanding. I'm glad I gave her a chance. I walked out with what I wanted and I'm a happy customer. Not everyone's experience will always be the same. Found out my hairdresser from another salon has moved to Salon Michelle and so I thought it was fitting that I make a new/updated review. First of, let me start with the salon. Kelsey, my hairdresser, gave me a little tour, for it was my firts time there. The salon is so elegant, had very cute features wherein I thought there was a lot of "attention to detail" put in the place, giving it lots of character. I had Kelsey do a toner and haircut and once again she did awesome! I love that she listens and also gives recommendations. I never leave without booking my next appointment with her! This review is for Stefina. I asked for blonde highlights. She did not deliver. My hair is darker now than when I went. I asked for two large chunks of blonde near my face. She said," money makers", I said yes. If you don't know what money makers are then google the term money makers blonde hair. You can see I don't have any blonde. I have orange copper colored hair near my face. When I expressed my dislike and that it was darker than when I came she replied that I could not pay her. I paid her and tipped her as I have respect for anyone who works providing services. I will not return and I would not recommend her to anyone wanting blonde in their hair. I purchased a Groupon and I feel like it wasn't even worth the discounted rate I paid. My hair is very thin and fine so I can't put any more chemicals on it for at least three months. I guess since I am forced to have dark hair the only good thing I can say about it is at least it is winter time. My friends and family have all commented on how dark it is and they are not used to seeing me with dark hair. I have been getting blonde highlights for almost 20 years. First of all, words cannot describe how thankful I am to Denise, the owner of Salon Michelle. I am 34 weeks pregnant and today is the day of my baby shower. I had a scheduled styling with another stylist at another salon in the same shopping center, and he did a horrible job on my hair. That stylist at the other salon ignored what I'd asked for, rushed me, and did a hack job on my hair, leaving me looking like a frazzled mess. I was extremely distressed. As I was leaving the parking lot, I was driving past Salon Michelle and saw their door open and the welcome sign out. I figured I didn't have a chance in hell of getting someone to help me on such short notice, but something told me to stop and try, and I did. Tearfully, upset, I walked in and was greeted instantly by Denise. I asked if anyone had time to help me and she instantly gathered me up and whisked me off to her private room, where we talked about what happened and what I needed fixed. She was such a blessing today, I seriously can't even begin to tell you. She not only stayed for me when she could have gone home, but she fixed my current haircut and made it more sleek, AND she styled my hair beautifully the way I wanted in the first place. She was warm, friendly, and even nurturing, giving my shoulders little rubs, offering me tea, and convincing me I was going to be alright. Not that IT was going to be alright, but that I was going to be alright (quick backstory, my Dad passed away from cancer a few days ago and I'm heavily pregnant and stressed out from everything). Oh, and she tried to refusing charging me just because she wanted to help me. I've never had ANYONE do that for me before. It's so extremely selfless of her, it left me speechless. She worked hard on my hair for almost an hour and she didn't want anything for it! The result of stopping at Salon Michelle on a whim is that not only was my hair fixed, but I left feeling at ease and comfortable. I've also found my new go-to salon. I couldn't be happier. Denise is the best!! She did a thorough consultation for my hair and gave me the cutest cut and color. My hair needed a major pick-me-up after having my baby last year. I called in and am so glad I did because I immediately felt confident I would get personal service and the right look for my thin hair. To make it fun, Denise even helped me choose an amazing purple color for my hair! I felt sooo pretty after having my hair done. My husband really liked it too and said I look amazing. I can't wait for this Mother's Day/birthday weekend when I can show my new look to my family and friends.
