Even though I color frequently my hair is healthy and shiny because she uses excellent products and recommends treatments to keep my hair healthy. My hair was breaking a lot recently... it was damaged from being bleached after a botched color correction at a very pricey nyc salon. I waited two months to let my hair rest and recover before having it dyed again because my hair was really damaged. I went to a different local salon that gave me an what they called an olaplex alternative (ph bonder by redken) but it didn't protect my hair and made it much worse. Every time I showered or brushed my hair I'd have an entire fistful of hair break off. I'm not exaggerating. It was not cool. I'd heard about olaplex but was skeptical... still at this point I needed to try something to save my hair and was pretty desperate. I had the treatment at Salon Moda a few weeks ago along with a root touch up and notice a HUGE REDUCTION in breakage!!!!! I was shocked at how soft it felt - normally my hair is only that soft after a glaze. No glaze, just my own hairs natural integrity restored. I'll never have my hair lightened again without it. Cody did an awesome job with my hair, I couldn't be happier. Being From out of town I called to book a last minute appointment after a recommendation from a friend. They were able to get me in ASAP which was awesome because I had called 4 different salons and was not able to find someone that could do a full head of color highlights (it takes forever!) I showed her a few pictures during my consultation and explained the process my stylist usually uses to lift the red from my hair. Cody not only got the color PERFECT but did it in a reasonable amount of time. We agreed to a trim and she made the style look 10x better than it had originally. To top it off the full highlight, tone, cut, and style cost almost half what I usually pay in the city. The salon itself is clean, modern, and comfortable. The stylists were all professional and there seemed to be a steady stream of clients. I would highly recommend Cody at Salon Moda. read more

Being new to the area I was scared to let someone new to me cut my hair. Went here as a walk in and was greeted nicely. The receptionist kept me company till a stylist was available. The stylist asked what I wanted and went over it with me making sure she understood exactly what I wanted. My hair was cut just as I asked for it to be. She also blew it out and did a good job. The total cost was $30 plus tip. I left happy and would return. read more

I was a huge fan. Danielle is awesome but no longer works there. I think the owner should take some classes on proper etiquette to her staff. I was there one day while some woman came in demanding a hair cut without an appointment and called the owner. I was quite shocked that the owner did not take the side of her girls. When you have great staff, you should take care of them and stick up for them. She should have been available to take on the haircut herself. Unfortunately, customers do take notice of that behavior. When I first started going to this place it was awesome. The stylist were friendly and seem to be interested in what they were doing. After a couple of visits it went down hill. I wanted to get a perm and the stylist decided that she would not do it because she didn't think i would like it. Also i had did a coloring i asked for a purple/red highlights. The girl who did my hair told me it was permanent, after a wash or two my highlights became blond $80 out the window. Today I went to get my sons first haircut and they charged $15 for just cutting off the tail. pissed me off. When it comes to listening to what you need/ want this place is not here for that. I'm not one to complain, however, this time i'm upset enough to post my review. First time at this place and the service was nice, the place looked nice but the price was outrageous ! I did not see prices posted anywhere in the place (unless I missed it). It would have been nice to see some sort of price so I had an idea what I was getting myself into. I got a trim and color and some thinning of my hair because it is so thick. My total was $115 for color and trim, $25 for a product (not even sure what it was or what it was for, I think it was to take the frizz out) and and extra $10 for thinning. = $150 plus a tip ! I think the price was a little ridiculous for this area. Granted I had the extra money in my pocket because I was supposed to pick up a few things at the grocery store, (which I couldn't do after I left) but come on. I understand the organic products and how great they are, however...... perhaps they should offer an option for a normal package or an upgraded organic package. It was not mentioned that i was being charged extra $25 for the anti frizz product, nor did I know i was being charged extra to thin out my hair, (every other place I've been to, that was included). Everything was nice, except for the price, I'm sorry but will not be returning. read more
