Not only does she keep my double-processed, platinum blonde hair looking impeccable and healthy and luscious (between a-line bobs and throughout the process of growing my hair out) but she's also one of the most kind, accepting and lovely people I've met since moving to Utah. Salon O is already a great place (clean, friendly and with a high-end feel you would find in other major metro cities) but when you have stylists like Tonni, it just elevates the whole experience. read more

MISLEADING. COLLEGE STUDENTS BEWARE. In January, my son had a haircut with Sarah Lee. The price was higher than expected but manageable, and we understood the cost. Recently, he returned and booked with a different stylist, unaware that each stylist sets their own rates. He received one phone call (which he missed) and one text message simply stating they wanted to confirm he booked with a different stylist. At no point in that text -- or before services were performed -- were the "senior stylist" prices disclosed. He only learned of the significantly higher rate after the haircut was completed. That is unacceptable. Transparent pricing should be clearly communicated before services are rendered. What made the situation worse was the unprofessional handling of the issue. From Rosa at the front desk, to Anthony who took over the call, to Felicia the owner -- the communication was rude, dismissive, and inconsistent. I was even falsely accused of using a derogatory slur toward an employee, which absolutely never happened. Instead of taking accountability for poor communication and lack of price transparency, they deflected and made baseless accusations. My son is an unemployed college student and was never properly informed of the drastic price difference. Customers should not be surprised with inflated charges after services are complete. Transparency and professionalism were clearly not a priority here. read more

I rarely leave negative reviews, but I am so disappointed with my experience. My first appointment was simply a color correction, and it actually went okay. Because of that, I returned five weeks later, trusting I would get a similar result. Unfortunately, this visit went from okay to terrible. Not only was my hair cut far shorter than I wanted, but the color turned into a blonde-grey shade that aged me at least ten years. The inspiration photo I brought looked nothing like the result I received. I also felt I was led to believe that having shorter hair would make the service less expensive. Instead, my bill was actually more, which added to my disappointment. I was so embarrassed that I went home, bought hair dye, and covered it myself the same day. I left feeling upset, disappointed, and honestly shocked at how different the outcome was from what I requested. I understand that sometimes hair doesn't turn out exactly as planned, but this was nowhere close to the picture I showed or the look I asked for. It would be helpful if they were more upfront with their prices. I had a great haircut and loved it but was surprised at the end by the $80 cost. Online it said that it was 50+ but I didn't think it would be $30 more than 50. The stylist was great and really sweet and the products used on my hair were amazing. I ended up buying a couple. The stylist was knowledgeable and gave me some helpful tips on how to style my hair which I really appreciated. So disappointed in the business. They charge how THEY see fit without any consistency. I noticed this last time that my stylist charged me $100 extra for the same service I have done every month for the past 5 months. And the professionalism is non existent! I relocated to SLC over 5 years ago, and was desperately seeking an aesthetician. The universe miraculously led me into the most magical hands my brows and bikini have ever known--those of the lovely and talented Kathryne. Prior to Kathryn, I had not heard of the sugaring technique but, I was open to trying it on our first appointment and, let me tell you, it is SWEET! *snort* No, but, seriously, it is less painful and more effective than waxing and even reduces in-growns, to which I am highly prone. Getting sugared by Kathryn is like having some kind of amazing hand ballet of hair removal performed on your body--a series of elegant and seamless motions dance across your unwanted hair, gently and effectively lifting them out. And, for any errand little buggers or in-grown hairs, she's meticulous in following up with tweezers. As for brows, all you have to do is take one look at hers to know that she is an artist and perfectionist. Unkempt, my brows would likely look like some kind of Lady Einstein/Freda Kahlo monstrosity. But, over the years, Kathryne has shaped them into lovely and strong brows that make me look prettier than I really am. Unfortunately, I can't arch them anymore because of all the botox, but she knows how to work around that too. Not only is Kathryn an extraordinary aesthetician, she's an absolutely delightful human being. She makes you feel completely comfortable with your junk hanging out, even when getting the business done "between the cheeks." Speaking of which, her method of getting in there by having you hold your knees to your chest is so much better than the demoralizing on-all-fours-head-down-asss-up-spread-em way--you know that one. She's also extremely witty, warm and somehow manages to always be in a good mood--even when she was working 9 months pregnant! I was referred to one of the stylists and called in the morning to book an appointment. The receptionist said that the stylist might be able to fit me in and would I text them some pictures of my hair and what I would like as a reference. She said she would call me right back to schedule me. Hours later after not hearing back I called again and had to explain everything to a different receptionist as they hadn't collaborated at their shift change. I was no longer able to get an appointment with the stylist I was referred to even though the appointment was for two weeks away, she was too booked up and I missed my chance. I was told a different stylist could do my hair, but they would need to double check and call me back again. She did text me quickly to tell me that the stylist was available and we messaged back and forth for the right day and time. As I am going to an event I was thrilled I could get in the morning of. Then I was asked to call so I could get my info set up in their system which I did immediately. So quickly when the receptionist picked up the phone she used my name knowing it was me. Within the two minutes it took to text I was informed the time and day were no longer an option as someone online had booked the spot. I was surprised she didn't immediately book, or at least hold the time for me once I had confirmed it via text. After two failed attempts at booking an appointment that would work for me the receptionist informed me that they need my credit card number so if I am a no show/no call in cancelation they can charge me an undetermined amount of money. I am stunned that this is their policy, to punish all guests for the inconsiderate actions of a few. I would guess the stylists are talented and that's what keeps people going, but all I got from my experience was feeling like a number not a client or guest. I tried to voice my frustration to the receptionist who cooly replied that I could go elsewhere. Instead of a relaxing and pampering experience which is what I enjoy from going to a salon I felt like I was a number and that I'd be lucky to get in to be seen. read more

Truly expensive. I have gone here several times and she has yet to get me to the color I want to be. I went to another salon finally and they got my hair to the color I wanted. I know it takes multiple sessions to get me to blonde but several sessions and I still have yellow in my hair no change is totally unacceptable. I like her personality but there's gotta be a line to draw. Last trip there was 500 that included about 10 foils of bleach blowout and two products. Yea terrible. I probably spent thousands here. And now they lost a great paying customer. EDIT : I was contacted about my post and they were very friendly especially the hair stylist who took care of my hair. I have never walked out of a salon feeling so insulted for being a mother. I am a very busy mother of two. My dad came to me and said sweetheart I would like to treat you to go and get your hair professionally done for your birthday and I'm sure it's going to cost around $200 I would love to take care of it? I asked around and one of my family friends recommended @gorgeousJared at SalonO so I book a consultation I drove 40 minutes to my consultation it would only take 10 minutes so I decided to take the kids with me since it was only going to be a 10 minute consultation why would I want to go and book a babysitter to pay for 2 1/2 hours for a 10 minute consultation? I know children are not allowed at the salon when I am there getting my hair done so I did not think this would be a big deal, since I was only there for a 10 minute consultation. They seemed a little annoyed like they wanted nothing to do with kids, I already felt not welcomed. Then with my hair being over processed Jared turned me down insulted me telling me he works with clients with blond hair just not my kind of blonde hair, blonde hair that is healthy. since I never have time to do anything with my hair I was going in there with high hopes that someone can help me to make my hair go back to healthy again. Apparently he was not up for this challenge he wanted to cut my hair so short to a Bob I said no, yet again he told me I would not be a good fit for him if I would not cut my hair that short I told him I was willing to cut my hair quite a bit but not that short. I also told him I would be willing to let my roots grow out before I come back and we would work up to my hair being healthy again with whatever he says it will take. He told me I needed to buy a certain kind of shampoo and conditioner and that I had to buy it from him!!!! I told him that my friend works for a salon and that she can buy the shampoo and conditioner for me. He then told me I am not a good client, or good fit for him yet again, because he wants me to buy the products from him!!! It was very clear to me at that point that he did not want to do my hair. I gathered up my kids and walked out with tears rolling down my face. As my kids sat there and watched their mommy crying because I was turned away from my hairstylist because I have neglected my hair. I would think that a good hairstylist would be willing to take on this challenge to help their client want to feel good about themselves. Jared was not willing to take on this challenge to help this mom get her hair back to healthy and feeling good again. Instead he left me feeling like crap for being a mom that puts her kids first. Someone please help a selfless mom out and recommend a hairstylist that would actually want to help me get my hair looking good again. read more

This place is great! My roommate from college has been coming here for highlights since 2014. I got my hair cut here with Bethany and I loved it. I went back to get a peekaboo back in February with Shandra and she did amazing! I was so nervous because i had never gotten my hair dyed before but she put me at ease and explained everything she was doing and why. I got rainbow peekaboos and it was so much fun. I was back in Salt Lake City in May (I've moved out of state) and Shandra was out of town so I saw Jessica. She also did a great job with my hair!
