I went back and forth about leaving a review since I didn't actually receive services from this salon but I think this gives future customers about your initial experience with Salon Pk. I have been looking for someone to dye my hair for a while. My stylist is in Cali and she is older, so not too much experience with dying hair. I live in Savannah and was willing to commute for the right person. I found Salon PK on IG. I called and inquired about getting my hair done. I spoke with Tatiyana and she told me I could come in that day to have a consultation. I told her I was out of town for work until mid January. She asked some questions about my hair and she said that we can set up a virtual consult. She got my number and said that she will be sending me a message to send her some pictures of my hair then she will set up a virtual consult. One week later, I heard nothing from Tatiyana or the salon. I tried to give grace because it was around the holidays. I called again and spoke to a young lady at the desk. She reassured me she would have Tatiyana call me back. Tatiyana called me back and no apologies or anything for the lack of communication. Now Tatiyana says I have to come in for a consult and she picked which stylist would be best for me. Never seen this stylist work and how could she pick what stylist is best for me when she knows nothing about my hair. I then asked would I be able to get my hair done when I come in for a consult and she said I might but can't guarantee it. I had high hopes for this salon but when someone shows you who they are at the beginning, believe them. read more

They have a dedicated receptionist that makes it easy to schedule appointments and to answer any questions that I had. I came here for a bridal hair and makeup consultation and test run. Please understand I was NOT a bridezilla. - Hair - The lady kept complaining that I had too much hair and it was too long for an updo. Said I would need to change my hair style (cut it) if I wanted an updo like I the one I showed her. - Makeup - She was super nice! But, I left looking like a drag queen and cried the whole way home. Needless to say, I did not go back. My wonderful soon to be sis-in law came to my rescue and easily did the simple updo I wanted and she helped me with my makeup. I looked like me, but bridal version, on my wedding day. I simply called the salon and canceled all future appointments to do 2nd test runs bc the first ones were so terrible. If I could leave ZERO stars I would, I am so hurt and stressed because my hair was cut uneven. DO NOT BOOK JASMYNE FOR A TRIM I went to JASMYNE to get my hair trimmed and put in a flexirod set, where she washed and blow dried my hair before adding the flexirod. She asked me to look at my hair once she was done trimming, and it looks a tad bit shorter on one side, but nothing completely noticeable to me at the time. She went on to talk about how she would never cut someone's hair wrong purposely and how she takes pride in this because she had a bad experience with her hair being cut too short. Even though she was working on 3 heads at once that day, she was able to put my flexirods in and I was overall pleased with the service. UNTIL I got home and washed my hair a couple of weeks later and noticed that once my hair had shrunk back to its original state and wasn't curly with the flexirod set. Jasmyne cut 2 INCHES OFF MY HAIR!!!!! And to make matters worse, it was only on one side. I have inserted pictures here. What's worse is that she knew she messed up and didn't even attempt to correct it. Please make sure you are weary of who you go to and watch the work they are I doing on your hair carefully. I do NOT recommend trying to book with Jasmyne. It is 2021 and yet these stylist don't have websites and want to text back and forth like high schoolers in order to book appointments. I attempted to book with Jasmyne via text. Before asking me anything - she wanted photos of my hair. While I think thats interesting, I obliged with the photo and caption...fast forward 7 days later she's still NEVER responded. For the record I do not have heat/chemically damaged, dyed or unkept hair - all of which I explained in my response to her; yet no response. I could understand requiring an in person consultation, or preset services for new clientele, but radio silence is unacceptable. I guess texting is hard. Try someone else, at least the other stylist responded. There's a receptionist, but their job isn't to book appointments - they are just there to answer the phone and tell you to text the stylist. I would not go back to PK Salon ever. I went in on 1/04/25 expect to get the service I communicated to the stylist DeAnna a week prior. I sent pictures and spoke with stylist. Once I got there I was told I need to rebook with the owner who only comes in on Thursday's. So the stylist washed my hair and flat ironed it and told me she gave e a silk press. I came in to cut my hair in a pixie cut/and all I got was a wash and trim. I was charged 95.00 and didn't get what I came in for. I just took my hair out of crochets so my hair was a mess. The curls she gave me made me look like an old woman. The stylist Deanna also kept saying your hair is a fine grade, but she has seen hair that was a finer grade than mine. I don't know why she put so much emphasis on saying that too me. I paid for the service and had to find another salon to do my hair the way I wanted. I will never return to that salon ever. What a bad experience with an unprofessional stylist. I even tipped her and shouldn't have cause I was unsatisfied with service I received. I would love to speak to the owner. read more

She did a good job but I was getting my head and neck tossed around, plus I'm not tender headed at all!! Pk (Pekila) is my stylist. She is beautiful, funny and she is a sweetheart. I like Salon^pk because they are all about the health of your hair. They can rock what ever style you desire. Took me in on short notice. Got my relaxer touch up, blow dried and styled. Amazing!!! Love it! I forgot the name of my hairdresser- sorry! Put she was polite, took her time and was thorough! I can't believe it's taken me 27 years to find a great salon that specializes in Black hair like Salon PK! The staff here is professional and friendly. I have natural hair and just wanted a trim (JUST A TRIM) to get rid of my split ends. If you're like me, I've had nightmare experiences with other salons who get scissor happy. I had Simone as a stylist today and she did a beautiful job blowing out and TRIMMING my hair. I still feel like I have all my length. I am a full time student and have a full time job so I appreciated that she was ready to take me as soon as I walked in the door and the process was very timely. What I love about this salon is their honesty about your hair.They do deep conditioners for relaxed hair that makes my hair soo much stronger. My hair is getting healthier and healthier and that means a lot because I've always had hair issues and this is the thickest my hair has ever been. Had a great first appointment. Got a second appointment after someone else cancelled. To be honest, I was 9 minutes late. I waited in the lobby, then waited at the shampoo bowl, then the stylist tried convince me to get a "deep condition" which is code for $10 upcharge and a guarantee that if you get sick of waiting you still need someone to rinse out your hair. Stylist offered me no explanation for delay but she started my "wash and go" after I had been there for 1.5 hours. read more

I'm transitioning from relaxed to natural and needed some help. I was tired of struggling with two different hair textures. I totally understand why most people would just cut off the relaxed ends. The ladies at Salon^ pk are friendly, polite & fun! As soon as I walked in I got a greeting, hello's & smiles from the stylists. I got what I asked for & more. Takeeta gave me a fabulous haircut which flatters my face shape and I received a complimentary deep conditioning & moisture treatment that did wonders to my hair. All I know is that this salon made me feel welcomed and at home. I left a very happy woman! Give them a try! They also have a Indian lady doing threading. I would rather do threading than waxing!! I feel my hair doesnt grow as fast, the shape lasts longer & its more precise. Although the ladies were fabulous at salon pk, I would advise them to cut down on the cell phone calls, even if they are clients trying to schedule appointments, while providing services to customers as some people can find that offensive or rude. If I could give them more stars I would! I scheduled a wash and natural cut with Pekela and she was amazing! I was nervous because this was my first "Deva cut" and all the pics I saw of ppl who had it didn't have hair like mines. I have a 3c type hair but I deal with a lot of frizz. So once I arrived Pekela and I had a conversation about my hair o showed her pictures similar to what I was looking for but before she started she informed abou the cut and how my hair would look so I wouldn't be going in with any false expectations I appreciated that a lot. She shampoo and conditioned my hair and when I say that was the best shampoo and condition I have ever had and with that too she was talking me through it all. She sat me in the chair next to define my curls and then I sat under the dryer until it was like 95% dry. Once back in the chair she began to fluff my hair and once finished she begin to cut curl by curl it wasn't much to cut. Cause once she defined and fluffed my curls we saw that my hair almost had the same shape I was going for I guess it just took someone who knew what they were doing to bring my curls out. So I had less frizz and more defined curls and a look that shaped my face. I have already booked my next appointment can't wait! read more

The lady who did my hair used no heat protection whatsoever, blow dried my hair (which i have a lot of) in one huge bunch and not in sections, and months later here I am with damage still. I had to cut off a lot of my hair that just wouldn't curl back up months later because of this one visit. Never going again. read more

I will not be going back. When I went I did not get anything I asked for. Normally my hair gets highlights/low lights. But the lady who colored my hair colored my entire scalp. In addition to that my hair went from being light and dark blonde to copper, brassy and green. It looked awful. I am now going in for my 3rd time (somewhere else obviously) to get this fixed because it has been a several step process. This has been the worst hair experience I have ever had. I highly do not recommend (if you have blonde or even close to blonde hair) going. I normally never leave a bad review but this is something that baffled me at how they colored my hair so badly. read more

I agree wi th the 9/11 post. Great Salon, friendly staff. They really do care about the health and condition of your hair. My stylist was Jermaine, he is awesome. He took time with me answered all of my questions and during each step, he informed me what he was doing and his recommedations for maintanence. He also gave me a fabulous cut and style!!!!! I did not see the threading lady, I wll make sure I look for her on my next visit. However, I did notice a stylist checking her phone often, while it was on vibrate, she still made it a point to look at it. But, if that is the only downfall, I can live with that. We do live in a techical world now, so everyone is connected to their phone one way or another. I have no con's for this salon, I will be going back in the future and I highly recommend this salon. Professional, and very polite. If you are looking for a professional atmosphere, this is the place, please be mindful that the stylist have a life too, so if they look at their ph from time to time, I dont see an issue with that at all. Since my relocation to Jacksonville FL I have been going to Salon PK. The environment is professional and friendly. My stylist is Tamaya (Coko) and she has skills. I wear a short cut and she is all about healthy hair and very good with cutting and styling hair she can and will give me any style I ask for. I came in for a corrective relaxer and left loving the results. A week later I wash my hair at home to see that their corrective didn't take. Called and they said they weren't responsible but I could come in and they'd take a look. Went back to the salon and they continued to say that they weren't responsible for the unprocessed portions of my hair. They told me for them to fix it I would have to come back in and pay for another corrective relaxer. Then they were saying that they only charged me for a retouch. I explained to them that wasn't what I came in for, I came in for a corrective. I only paid what they asked me to. I was given a range of $80-110 and they charged me $80. They decided that, not me right. I shouldn't have to repay because they didn't deliver when they were supposed to. Got to a point where said they would have me pay the difference between the virgin and retouch relaxer which is $30 BUT I'd have to come back and do it w/in a week and leave the salon w. wet hair and they wouldn't even blow dry it for me. If I wanted blow dry and style I would have to pay an additional $55. So $85, about the price that I had already paid before. I low-key thought about going back in but it doesn't make sense for me to in there for that and then have to go somewhere else to finish the process. Especially since they already messed it up. once. Keep in mind, that the same day I needed to.come in I was planning on taking pictures, and I have my pinning ceremony and graduation w. in the next two days. Spoke to the manager and owner, none of them cared and continued to say it wasn't their fault. Chose this salon because I did research and everything seemed legit, they seemed to actually care about making your hair healthy, meeting the client's needs, but this is just sooo wrong to me. You make a mistake, you fix it right?? Well not them. The owner even said that the stylist did me a favor because she was trying not to over process my hair. FAVOR WHERE.
